No.1 - A Lady of the Night?

Somewhere in mid 19th century England ...

"Jesus, Teena, when you said `come back in time with me and you can use my great-great-great uncle's body', you never warned me the old bugger was a cross-dresser!"

"Um ... I don't quite know how to put this, Andy, but ... um, I seem to have got his body over here."

"Then who am I?"

"Er, well, I can't say for sure, but there's this little gold edged appointment book on the bedside table here and there's quite a few famous men listed in it ... "

"You must be kidding? Hurry up and get us back out of here? Er, Teena ... why are you looking at me like that? What do you mean, not for at least another twenty four hours?"

"Oh rats! Footsteps coming up the stairs outside!"

"Um, Teena, when exactly did they first invent condoms?"

The first book in the Teena Thyme series, simply entitled Teena, is available from July 2001, from most good book stores in both the United Kingdom and the USA. Most Jennifer Jane Pope titles are also available on the Internet, either from, or from .

Teena becomes a time traveller quite by accident in 1975 and finds herself popping up as her own ancestors in a variety of eras and predicaments and her natural resilience, inventiveness and ability to see the funny side of just about any situation are frequently pushed to their limits.

History was never like this at school, so if you want to meet Teena and read the opening chapters of her story for free, visit my website at and click on the BOOKS section, where you will find a long extract, as well as extracts from all my other published novels.

Alternatively, if you go to the Stories listing in this site, you will find several more of my literary offerings. More Teena inspired images coming to these pages soon.
