A Woman Forever
by Jennifer White
"Donn, you're going to San Fran" said James Clark, the editor-in-cheif of "The Daily Star". Donn was a staff reporter who did some of the best work for the features section.
"San Fran, it's cold there this time of year. What's up?"
"There is a convention in town there, one that you might find repulsive."
"What's that?"
"It's for cross-dressers. Men who like to go around in women's clothes."
"Ugh" said Donn.
"Don't be too judgmental. You're going to have to show up there as one of them, so they don't suspect you."
"Me? Dress up like a woman? No way!"
"Look Donn. There is another reason why I'm sending you there undercover. This could be big. There have been three men who joined the organization that I want you to infiltrate. They joined, but then told their wives they were leaving them, and that they never wanted to dress like a man again. These were men who were "in the closet" if you will. I want to know what goes on there, that men who are afraid to show this side of themselves suddenly change their minds, and don't want to go back to normal."
"You suspect something?"
"It has to be some sort of brainwashing."
"Why don't you get Johnson? He seems....rather...."
"Donn, just because he won't date women doesn't mean that he likes to wear their clothes. And what if he does? Then it won't take much to put him over the edge. That's why I need someone who *hates* the idea."
"Me" said Donn, dejected.
"You've got it. Here's your ticket. You head out tomorrow. And here's a dossier to read on the plane."
"Coach class again I assume?"
"Hey, this is asking a lot. I sprang for business class."
"Thanks chief" said Donn, not very thrilled at the prospects.
"Now go home, and tell your wife what you're up to. I'm sure that once she gets over the shock, she'll be the best person to help you pick out a couple of outfits, and some makeup or whatever. Get a wig too. You can use your company credit card, but don't go overboard."
"Got it" said Donn, who wanted to buy as very *little* as possible of that kind of stuff. He went back to his desk, sighed, and started to prepare to head home to break the news to Martha.
* * *
"This will be so fun!" said Martha, upon hearing the news. Donn had hoped that she would have protested so much that she'd be on the phone to James, and talk him out of it. But she seemed to rather like the idea.
"Its like playing with a doll when I was a little girl, except the doll is life size."
"And male" pointed out Donn.
Martha brushed off his remark, and dug through her closet. She pulled out several outfits that were too large for her, but might just fit Donn.
"I don't want to wear *your* clothes. James said I could buy some new stuff.
"Oh, you'd rather go to the mall and try on dresses?"
"Well, if you put it that way....."
Twenty minutes later, Donn found himself dressed in one of his wife's old floral dresses. He felt ridiculous. She was showing him how to apply makeup, globbing on the mascara and eyeliner.
"You wash it off using this" she said, handing him her makeup remover. "I'll run to the mall, and get that wig for you. Then take a shower, and shave those legs. You look silly in nylons with long hairs stuck under them like that!"
Shave his legs? Yet another embarrassment. The mall was only three miles away, so Donn knew he had better hurry before she got back. He got some of the makeup remover in his eye, which began to burn and water. How did women do all this every day? He shook his head.
Martha returned to him with a wig of long black hair. She also had a pair of black shoes with a moderately high heel.
"Try these on. I think they'll fit. I had to go to a specialty store to find ones this large."
Donn put them on, and teetered at first until got his balance.
"Nice legs babe" said Martha, referring to Don's now smooth legs. She made him dress up again, and put on his own makeup. With the shoes and the wig, he looked....like a man dressed up as a woman. But that didn't matter; it would get him in the door at the convention.
Martha made him take off and put on his makeup twice more before she was satisfied. Then she helped him pack. She put some of her face cream on him, then took him to bed and made love. They fell asleep in each other's arms.
* * *
On the plane, drinking a whisky sour, Donn read through the dossier on his assignment. At this convention, there would be many meetings and speakers. There would be a product showcase, with the latest innovations to help a man create the illusion of femininity. And there would be many organizations who participated.
The one that James wanted him to track down was called Women Forever. They were the prime suspect. Donn found that they had a session scheduled in one of the meeting rooms at the conference. He circled it with his pen, and made sure that he'd attend that one. He memorized the faces of the leaders of WF, both in their male and female clothes.
The flight was uneventful, and after a short cab ride, he found himself in beautiful San Francisco. Donn did his usual routine in town of talking a walk, riding the trolley cars, and eating at Fisherman's Wharf. It was cold, so he was shivering when he returned to his hotel room.
He shook his head as he saw the clothes he had unpacked when he arrived (Martha had said three times to make sure he unpacked right away so the dresses wouldn't get too wrinkled). How could he be out of town, having brought only three outfits of women's clothes, but no suits or ties?
The wig was draped over the lampshade, and the makeup was spread all across the sink. Donn sighed. He turned on the TV, and watched HBO. It was only 9pm, but he was tired, and two time zones west of home. So it felt like 11:00 to him. He turned in, and was soon fast asleep.
* * *
In the morning, Donn ordered room service for breakfast. The company was paying, so what the heck? He ate as he watched the news on CNN. After brushing his teeth, came the moment he dreaded: getting dressed up as a woman, and going out in public. At least in this city, he wouldn't stand out as much as he would in Chicago or Cleveland!
Donn decided that he made an ugly woman, as he surveyed himself in the mirror. How could guys get off on doing this? It repulsed him. Why couldn't they take up a normal hobby like he did (skin diving)? What drove a man to feel that he wanted to be a woman? Donn loved his wife, and could not understand how someone else couldn't feel that way towards women. He assumed that all of the people he was going to meet at the convention were gay. He didn't realize that most cross dressers still desired women. They just wanted to be one sometimes.
He put his room key into the purse that Martha told him he had to carry, went downstairs, and told the cab to take him to the convention center. The cabbie didn't even blink when he got in. He was thankful that this convention wasn't in Des Moines.
It felt funny to pull money out of a purse to pay the cabbie. He got out, and cursed the uncomfortable shoes that Martha had picked out for him. His feet hurt already. He walked up, and registered for the conference.
Donn didn't want to be made out as a reporter, so he didn't take notes, other than mental ones. He had a pad of paper and pencil in his purse. His plan was to go into the rest room, and jot down notes when he had a chance.
After an hour of looking at all the fake breasts, nipples, padded panties, and other wares for sale, he wanted to write down some notes. He went to the rest rooms, but didn't know which one he should go into. An obvious man in a skirt went into the men's room, so Donn followed him in, relieved.
He went into a stall, and scribbled some notes. Then he went to the mirror, checked his makeup, and touched up the lipstick. He realized that he forgot to paint his nails that night, like Martha told him to. He didn't want to stand out from the crowd, so he went over to the tables of manicurists that were set up, and asked to get long nails put on and painted.
It cost a lot more money than he would liked to have paid, but now he felt better. He looked like the others, who invariably had all the little frilly touches like nails, earrings, and bracelets.
It was almost time for the Women Forever session, so Donn casually strolled down the aisle of the conference center, until he got to the meeting rooms. He found room 205, and took a seat in the middle. He didn't want to stand out by being in the front or the back for that matter.
The room filled with about 30 other men, all dressed up like he was.
"Are you a member?" asked the man sitting beside him.
"No, I'm just checking it out" he replied.
"Ooh, honey, you're going to love it!" said the man, holding his arms close to his chest, with his hands limply pointed outward and down. Donn felt disgusted to be talking with someone like that. But he had to keep his cover. This man was obviously a member.
The doors in the back closed when the bell rang throughout the halls, signaling the start of the session. A man in a pretty dress walked up to the podium at the front of the room.
"Hello, I am Phillip Holmes, but my friends call me Susan" he said, causing a laugh from the crowd. "I am the leader of Women Forever. I see some familiar faces, and some newcomers. How many of you are already members?"
About half the crowd raised their hands.
"I want the new girls here to have the best view of the stage. Members, please move to the back rows. The rest of you, move up front. Don't be shy! We're all girls here."
Donn panicked for a moment. What should he do? He couldn't move to the back...they knew he wasn't a member. The scary one next to him went to the back, and smiled at him. If he didn't move, he'd stand out from the crowd. So he got up, and moved into the second row, along with the others who were there for the first time.
Phillip began talking about the organization, how they support each other, and the good work they do.
"I think each and every one of you will want to join us after the presentation."
That caused giggles from the 'girls' in the back.
"Dim the lights please" said Phillip. Music started to play, like the intro to a dance song. He pushed a button, and lights in the front flashed. A fog machine kicked out a white cloud from the front of the stage, moving towards the crowd.
Donn had a bad experience with dry ice once as a youth. He hated the smell of it. He took a deep breath, and held it as the fog rolled over the audience. Being a diver, he had very good breath control and lung capacity. He could hold his breath much longer than the average person. When he finally did need to take a breath, there was only a little of the fog left.
But it was strange; it didn't smell like dry ice fog. Perhaps they were using something different? He couldn't be sure what it was.
"Now watch this" said Phillip. A projector hanging from the ceiling started to show a movie on the screen in the front of the room. The music stopped, the lights stopped flashing, and the sound from the movie came up. It was a strange film, with rapidly changing pictures showing female body parts. He couldn't understand what they were saying either, the words were all distorted.
Donn looked around him in the darkness, observing the others. They all seemed completely transfixed on the film. They didn't even seem to be blinking. This wasn't normal. Something was wrong. The fog! It must have done something to them. He was glad he hadn't breathed that air.
The film ended, and the house lights were brought up. The men in the back of the room who were already members walked up to the front.
"All right ladies, you know what to do" said Phillip. Each member took one of the men from the front by the hand, and led them off to the side by the wall. Donn sat there until one came for him. He saw that the others just stared off into space, and allowed themselves to be led. He did the same, so he wouldn't blow his cover just yet. He was onto something here, and he was about to blow the covers off of WF.
"On your knees" said Phillip. The 'girl' pressed on Donn's shoulders, and he lowered himself to the ground, onto his knees. He was now staring right into 'her' crotch of her tight hot pants. 'She' fumbled through her purse for something. What was it?
Before he knew what hit him, 'she' suddenly shoved it deep into his mouth, and he felt a warm squirt of liquid which ran down his throat. It was so sudden that he could do nothing about it.
"A woman now, a woman forever" said the woman standing over him. Donn wondered why he had thought it was a man dressed like a woman. She was a *real* woman. She kneeled down now, and handed the device in her hand over to him.
He looked at it in the palm of his hand. It looked like a big &p.. There was a button on the side, no doubt the dispenser for the fluid. Donn saw that girls on their knees all rose, so he did too. And just as they did, he inserted the device into the mouth of the girl, pushed the button, and said the words: "A woman now, a woman forever."
What a strange thing to say. A woman now? A woman forever? Then it suddenly made sense! Donn realized what it meant. The words were used, because she was a woman, and it was true. Not only for now, but forever. Of course. It was crystal clear.
The kneeling women stood up. She and Donn kissed each other on the cheeks. They walked hand in hand back to their seats.
"Welcome to WF, and your first day as a woman" said Philip. "You have all just undergone our recruitment process. You are now all loyal members, loyal to *me*. You will do anything I ask, and serve me however I see fit. You are my women!"
"We are your women" said the entire crowd, except for Donn. Why wasn't she like the others? It must have something to do with the film. She hadn't watched it, observing the others instead. It must have done something to them.
The fog had transfixed them; the film had brainwashed them. So that was it. Donn was so excited that she almost giggled out loud. She knew what they were up to. She couldn't wait to report back to James.
"We need to bring our numbers up dramatically" said Phillip. "That is why I am giving you each a home recruiting kit, and asking each of you to get five more members to enlist. We will give them all kits, and they will go out to recruit five more. Soon, we will number in the millions."
There were murmers of approval and excitement from the crowd.
"Here is a DVD to take home. This is a can of the same chemical used in our fog machines. If you can't get your new recruit to watch the film, use this on them. Once they have viewed the film, put the &p. into their mouth, push the button, and indoctrinate them. A woman now, a woman forever!"
"A woman now, a woman forever!" said the crowd as one. Even Donn joined in.
* * *
After the meeting broke up, each of the new members wrote down their names and addresses, so they could receive the weekly mailings from WF. Donn went back out into the main area of the show, and did some shopping. She bought some convincing fake breasts along with a couple of other products to help her look pretty.
She went back to her hotel, and rushed to try them out. She looked at herself in the mirror. She was such a pretty girl. She just loved being a woman! But there was not time for that; she had a story to report on.
* * *
Donn took the next plane back home, and went right to the top floor where James kept his office. She walked in, and put the DVD down on James' desk.
"I have all the proof we need, right here chief" she said.
"Oh, enjoyed the convention, did you?" asked James, looking at the dress that Donn was wearing. He had on fake boobs, lots of makeup, long nails, the works. Donn was walking like a woman, talking like one, he even smelled like one. James shook his head.
"You've got to see this right away!" said Donn, popping the DVD into James' computer drive. The media player loaded, and the movie began to play. Donn found it hard to take her eyes off of it. It was *so* interesting!
James watched it too, not sure what to make of it. A bunch of random images and sounds. What was Donn so excited about? He turned to look at Don after it ended, only to have his mouth forced open and something thrust in deep.
He coughed as a warm liquid squirted down his throat.
"A woman now" said Donn, "a woman forever."
James stood up. She was outraged! Don put the &p. into her hand, and kneeled down. She took it, put it into his eager mouth, and pushed the button herself.
"A woman now, a woman forever" she said.
Donn stood up and looked at James. They kissed. A deep passionate kiss.
"You're one of us now" said Donn.
"A woman" replied James.
Donn picked up the phone, and called Phillip's private number.
"I have a new member for you" she said.
"Put her on the phone" said Phillip.
"Hello?" said James into the receiver.
"Hello. I am Phillip. Who are you, and what do you do for a living?"
"I am a woman named James Clerk. I am the editor in chief of the daily star."
"Listen very carefully James, I have some instructions for you...." said Phillip.
James nodded her head as she listened. After she hung up, she turned to Donn.
"Can I borrow your lipstick? I seem to have run out" she said.
* * *
The headline the next day said nothing about the information that James uncovered on her trip to San Francisco. However, on page 2 there was a notice of a meeting for a 'jobs fair' that the newspaper was sponsoring. A motivational speaker named Phillip Holmes was going to appear too. With the rough economy, it was sure to be packed....
