Unhappy Halloween 2

by: Paul G Jutras

It all started when on the afternoon of Halloween. The winds began to howl and cause the near by lake waters to get rough. As the fish began a splashing, the animals that lived in the trees on the shore got to howling.

"This isn’t a night to be out." Mr. Philips said as he looked at his son Paul and his wife Sally. "Get inside while I board up the door."

"What’s wrong?" Paul asked as he stood in his black witch costume with plans to trick or treat. "I have candy to get when it get dark."

"You can’t go out." Mr. Philips said as he saw the full moon looked like a skull. "Not this Halloween."

"Why not?"

"The phantoms move about the haunted house on a night like this." Mr. Phillips said as he peered out the window. "Why don’t you go to bed and before you know it it’s morning."

"The phantoms seem in the telescopes never come down off the hill." Paul protested as his eyes suddenly lit up. "I forgot the videos are over due."

"You can’t!" Mr. Phillips started to say as Paul was already out the door and heading into town. With the winds picking up the multicolor leaves, Paul had to shield his eyes and got all turned around. Before he knew it, he was heading up the trail leading to the haunted house.

"Where am I?" Paul wondered. "I hope these people can direct me to the video store.

As Paul walked up to the door and knocked he didn’t notice the ghost floating out of the upper window. When he did look up he only saw a few bats. The door created opened and as Paul walked in a eye ball appeared from the downstairs window. Ghosts of dinosaurs and people moved about the forest with a cackling laugh.

"Is anyone home?" Paul called out as the lights went out and Paul heard the sound of a heart beating. What he didn’t know was well he was in pitch blackness, the house itself was sucked into a vortex like the house near the end of the movie Poltergeist. Out of one dimension and into another.

When it entered the other dimensions the lights returned and Paul brushed strains of hot pink hair from his made up face. Standing in a white bare midriff top, hot pink pants and high heel sandals that showed off pink toe nails.

"What the?" Paul said as he stumbled in the heels and ran his hands over his new female body that made him smile with joy. Slipping out of the heels, Paula took off out of the haunted house and back for home with his pink lips smiling widely.

"Mom! Dad!" Paula shouted as she went into the house and stopped dead in her tracks. "Huh?"

"Did you get to the video store?" A voice Paula didn’t recognize said softly. Sitting in the living was her mother and father. But not her mother and father. For her mother was now her father and visa versa.

"No I didn’t." Paula said as she set the video on the table. "The wind turned me around. I’ll have to wait till tomorrow to return it."

"Good thing you got tomorrow off work." Paula new dad (formally mom) said. "Your friends Mike and Janet got lost too and showed up. Their having some fried dough your mom made."

"Don’t they mean Missy and Jason." Paula thought as she went inside to see that her parents were indeed right. Paul had always wish to be Paula. Somehow that night she had gotten her wish. But not only did the house switch her sex but transported her to another dimensional where everyone’s sex was reverse. For that she felt sorry for poor Missy to live her life as a guy in this alternate universe. If her friends knew of this it would indeed be a unhappy Halloween for them. Especially poor Missy to live her life as a guy here.

As Paula looked out her window and saw the phantom house return to her own dimension, she knew she’d best get use to this alternate universe. She’d be there for a long time. At least until next Halloween if it does show every Halloween. As much as Paula loved being a girl she was going to miss her own parents and friends.

THE END
