Paula New School
by
Paul G. Jutras
As the final bell rang at Paul's school, the hall became crowded with the sea of students. Most of each had some kind of skin art, body piercing or scar upon their body. Being shoved back and fourth like rocking of ocean waves, Paul was knocked into a locker and slammed against Big Jim.
Big Jim turned toward Paul. As Paul only stood five foot one and Jim was really a site to see. Jim snapped a pencil between two fingers as he stood baggy clothes that showed off his nipple, nose and single earring and almost head to toe body art.
"S…Sorry," muttered Paul. Big Jim; however, wasn't in the mood. He just picked Paul up; carried him outside, and dumped him in the school dumpster. "Why me?"
Getting out of the dumpster, Paul got onto his bike and started to ride to the park before going home to start his homework. It always seemed to make Paul feel better when he was closer to nature.
"Get away from me!" screamed a woman about Paul's same age. Paul quickly hop off the bike and left it rest against the park fence as he ran inside to see a young woman with green hair tripping over a tree root and falling on her back. The large man that approached her was so ugly that he made Big Jim look handsome.
"That guy looks like he's going to kill her." Paul thought to himself as he wondered how he couldn't think of what to do. If he couldn't handle Jim, how could he handle this monster of a man. That was when he cupped her mouth with his hand as if he was trying to decide between smothering her or snapping her neck.
"Let her alone!" Paul just suddenly screamed in a high pitch voice that didn't sound at all like his own. The large man turned to watch as Paul's hair flowed down to his shoulders, his eyes glowed red and his body frame thinned.
"Who are you, girl?" The man said and continued to press against the woman's face even harder. "This is none of your business."
"I said, let go!" Paul screamed as an energy blast shot out of the palm of his hand and knocked the man away from the woman. He landed flat on his back and Paul felt so weak that he thought he'd fall over too.
"Way to go, girlfriend." The green hair woman said as she got up. "You should go to my school?"
"You're school?" Paul said as moved his hands down over his body. He felt over firm breasts between a B and a C cup, a slender waist and rounded hips. His finger nails were filed and polished pink. "Where's that?"
"Come on and I'll show you." The girl said as the two girls retrieved their bikes and pedaled from the park to the private princess school. Paul knew of the place as like a U.N. school for girls. All those who attended were the daughters of some ruler. Most of countries nobody ever heard of before.
"You're a princess?" Paul asked as he walked into the woman's dorm room and sat on the comforter.
"I'm Princess Fields from Unidoo." Princess Fields said with a smile as she turned toward a computer with a crystal ball in place of a monitor screen. "What magical realm are you a princess of?"
"I'm not a princess of any kind." Paul confessed. "Until I help you take on Mr. Personality, I wasn't even an earth girl. I was a guy."
"That's an interesting story," said a woman in a leopard print dress and transparent shoes with a five inch heel. "I'm Principal Moon. May I take a blood sample?"
The principal took a small prick from Paul's finger and looked closely at his blood in what looked like a test tube. "The gene test of your magic roots shows you're a descendant of Merlin. You're magic level is very high."
"That would make her the first magic user from Earth in centuries." Princess Fields said.
"That doesn't explain why I changed into a girl." Paul said with only half felt concern. "I always wanted to be Paula instead of Paul, but how did it happen?"
"I would say you answered your own question." Principal Moon said as a touch to Paula's finger instantly heeled the dripped blood. "You're desire to be female like Princess Fields at the same time as wanting the power to help her, brought this change about. I would be happy to arrange a transfer to your school."
"How do we explain my going to a boarding school for girls to my parents?" Paula asked.
"I hate messing with people's memories," Principal Moon said as she lead the girls to potions class and started to work with a cauldron. "I can alter all evidence of your past; including your family memories to make them think you were always a girl. I might be better than the shock they'd get other wise."
"We want to keep the truth about the school being for magic girls from your realm." Princess Fields added.
"Thanks." Paula said as he figured it was for the best.
"Did we hear right?" Princess Shadows asked with her friends Princess Sabrina and Princess Mantra. "An earth being is joining our school?"
"Keep your nose out of this?" Princess Fields said sharply.
"Keep out of this, pixie." Princess Mantra said.
"You keep out of this, witch." Princess Field said back.
"I'll show you a witch." Princess Shadows said about to cast a spell with her wand.
"No!" Paula said as he blasted Princess Shadows onto her back like she did the large man in the park. "I did it again, like I did that man."
"That was a masked demon." Princess Fields corrected Paula.
"How dare you blast Princess Shadows!" shouted Princess Mantra. Her temper as hot as her red color of her hair. She fired a mystic beam from her wand. Paula held up his hand to block and watched as the it surged into him. Magic; being just another form of energy, could be absorbed and channeled as Paula did through his body and out his other hand to knock the other girls off their feet.
"Up to your old tricks again, Princess Shadows?" Principal Moon asked.
"Sorry Principal." The three girls said in unison.
"Get to the witch's dorm then." Principal Moon ordered. "This is why pixies and witches are in different dorms?"
"What am I?" Paula asked.
"Why don't you just share a room with Princess Fields for now," said Principal Moon. "We can always decide if you belong in another dorm before the year is over. You're folks says they're glad you've already made a friend."
"So, I'm staying?" Paula asked to Principal's Moon's nod.
"That's great." Princess Field said as she gave her earth sister a hug. "We got a school dance tonight and the guys in the mystic boy's school down the street are to die for."
"Dancing with boys?" Paula said as he froze in place. "I just became a girl today. I don't know if I'm ready to jump into the whole girl thing right off."
"It's the best way, trust me." Princess Fields said as she took Paula by the arm and dragged her into the school's salon. "First the salon then we can use a portal to my realm to do some shopping."
Have a seat dear. As she used her wings to flutter around Paula's head, she used her magic to try different styles on her. Finally she chose on one right for the evening events.
"You're beautiful." Princess Field said in the seat beside her as the girl working on her cast a spell on the Princesses nails to change color until she picked one she liked. A similar spell was done with her face make up.
"You want to works too, dear?" The hair dresser asked Paula.
"I don't know if I can afford," Paula began. "I'm not a princess and only earth money."
"Relax." Princess Fields said. "The magic realms use the credit cards that earth use even though its actual type of cash currency is different from world to world. As for the salon, it's on me, Paula."
"Got to get use to being Paula now," he said with a smile as he agreed. He found it was a fun way to have one nails and face done to look as good as his hair. A spell also included a painless hair removal which Paula was going to enjoy more than having to shave like a mortal.
Paula had to hit the sales bins for the right outfit that looked. Princess Fields, some of her other friends joined Paula as they hit the changing rooms in the stores and tried on outfit after outfit. Paula went through dozens of dresses and hundreds of shoes before picking jut the right gown, heels, stockings and such to impress the male magic students of the school.
That evening, Paula felt like Cinderella at the ball. As he danced with this handsome guy, he felt like he found his knight or prince charming. "You are so lovely." Lancelot said as he was named after his ancestor of the same name.
"That you." said Paula in the middle of the slow dance. He was use to leading not following. "I haven't been to many dances and hope I'm not too bad for your feet."
"Not at all, princess." Lancelot said with a smile. "Dancing with you is like dancing on a cloud."
While Paula wasn't sure if Lancelot was his Mr. Right, he was sure he'd find him in the magic school for boy's as he knew his place was being a fairy in the Princess school of mystic girls.
