Paula Fantasy Birthday
by: Paul Jutras

As a pink clock went off, a hand reached from beneath the bed sheet and fumbled with it. The hand knocked it on its back and around the night stand until it found the shut off switched. With a yawn, Paul slid one shaven leg from beneath the covers and then the other until the pink polished toes hit the rug below.

With a yawn and a stretch, Paul stood up and in his night shirt and shuffled over into the bathroom where he locked the door and put the seat down on the toilet. "Happy Birthday to me," he thought as he hiked up the night shirt and pulled his panties down around his ankles. Grabbing his penis, he sat down and forced himself to pee in a sitting position.

After a quick show to make sure all his body hair was removed; and nothing needed to be shaved, he wrapped a towel around himself and returned to his room. Putting a CD on, he began to dance to the beat as he proceeded to pull on a pair of fresh panties and slipped out of the robe. Once a pair of breast forms were glued in place, he proceed to step into a pink spaghetti strap dress that reached just below his hips and a pair of block heel sandals with straps that criss-crossed the top of his foot.

"Lovely," Paul said with his raven wig reaching his shoulders. As he sat at his vanity, he crossed his legs at the knees, tossed his hair back and began to apply his make up with a dainty touch. "Simply lovely you are, Paula dear. The mirror doesn’t lie."

Hearing the sound of a car pull up, Paula looked out the window and saw her grandparents had arrived in their wooden panel station wagon. With a smile, she watched as her balding grandpa got out of the car in a red knit sweater and tan slacks. His snow hair grandma in a white slopping neck sweater she made her self and pink slacks. "Grandma! Grandpa!" Paula called from the window before she turned and ran downstairs.

As Paula’s dad greeted his parents in his black tee shirt and blue shorts, he passed the basket ball to his nephew Phil and watched him make a lay up in his blue tee shirt and red shorts. Still dreaming of the day where he’d go to collage and study to become a basketball coach.

"Pass it here." Uncle Ray in his red tee shirt and blue shorts said as dad got under the basket and Ray tried to block his son from scoring. Moving over to the other side the driveway, he shot and scored a three pointer.

"Alright!" Phil jabbed his arm in the air as Paula came outside. She wondered if they’d be going to see Terminator 2 in one of the local Leavitt theatre or Problem Child 2 in the Square theatre. She only wished that The Rocketeer would of started on her birthday instead of the upcoming Friday.

After taking a few short with the basketball, Paula notice how black her hands were getting and gave the ball back to her dad. As he went to wash her hands, she could only think of looking her best for the party set up in the two car garage. With the cars in the large drive way it was plenty big for the picnic table to set up the family party. Paula especially loved the looks of the chocolate cake with Vanilla frosting and pink flower designs that matched the color of the candles. In the center was a plastic photo of Barbie.

As Paula started to wash her hands she heard her cousin Kayla playing the piano her mother had inherited from her own mother. In a lime tank top and pink shorts, she ran into the out when Paula came out of the bathroom; which made Paula wonder enough to follow.

As Paula followed Kayla to the living room and plop on the rug, she noticed the Logan Run was on television. Paula; who was always interested in sci-fi ability to travel through time and alter reality, sat with her and enjoyed the show.

She was then called to the garage for the party and to pose for pictures. As always, Paula’s Uncle Dave was dressed all in black and her Aunt Robin wore a red tank top with matching four inch pumps and a blue skirt. With a blow of the candles, Paula sliced and took the first piece of cake followed by the others taking theirs.

With the new members of the family arrived the lawn and driveway was too full of cars to play basket ball anymore. Not that Paula wasn’t already too busy talking with the family members. She still remembered on of her past favorite presents was a Fisher Price shopping cart with plastic food. She’d use to play the housewife going to the market. Almost as fun and when she had her birthday in the soda shop in the center of town. Its yellow and white checkered lamp fixtures, table clothes and curtains made it look like it was out of the 19th century. The type of place you’d almost only see Barber Shop Quartettes pass at Disney these days. Her pedal power yellow racer blended in perfectly that birthday.

After finishing up her ice cream, Paula took Kayla to her room and her Commadore 64 brand computer to show her how the games she had for it worked. Some on floppy disks and others you plugged game cartage in.

Leaving Kayla to play once she got the hang of the games, Paula rejoined everyone but Phil on the lounge chairs on the second story wooden porch. Phil had turned on the big box floor fan Paula use to pretend was a black hole during her Lego fantasies and watched Star Trek on television.

As evening came and everyone went home, Paula got pink two piece pajamas with white lace collar and white polka dots she got for her birthday and got ready for bed. She had a tiresome day all in all and was ready for a good night sleep.

The end
