New Holly Potter

All characters are property of J. K. Rowing. I don't expect to be as good as her or even Kim West. If anyone wants to continue this beyond a Part 1 feel free. I doubt that I will.
It was a cool summer night at Privet Drive when a young teenage let out a sigh from his bedroom window. Harry was a black-haired boy who was so thin it was almost on the unhealthy side. What made him stand out most was the lighting shape mark on his forehead. A mark, that had made him famous during his first four years at Hogsworts' school for witchcraft and wizardry.
Hiding under his covers, Harry worked on the school work unseen by his muggle guardians. At least he thought he was unseen.
"What are you still doing up?" Uncle Vernon said in an angry tone as he pulled off the covers and grabbed young Harry with his thick sausage fingers. "Do you know what time it is?"
"It's not my fault!" Harry snapped back. "If you let me do my school work during normal hours, I wouldn't have to do it in secret!"
"Don't you raise your voice in that tone with me young man." Uncle Vernon growled. "You're lucky we put a roof over your head when you're not in that freak school of yours. You're more than likely be the death of us all before you graduate."
As if on clue, a knock came from the front door. "Who would that be at this hour?"
Petunia asked as frazzled as she got out of bed and went down stairs to see who it was. "I have a good thought to give whoever it is a piece of my mind."
"Believe me, we wouldn't want anything from you." A large hairy giant said as she opened the door. "Especially your mind."
"Hagrid?" Harry said in surprise as he came running down the stairs to greet his long time friend. "What are you doing here? There isn't trouble at school is there?"
"Everything is fine." Hagrid said as he walked past Petunia with a group of robed figures. Harry tried to tell who they were but with their hoods up, he couldn't.
"Get out of here!" Vernon shouted as he soon appeared behind Harry at the bottom of the stairs. "Your kind is unwelcome in this household. I believe I've made that perfectly clear when we took the boy in. We don't want anything to do with your kind."
"That is why we're here." A voice that was all too familiar to Harry said. Harry couldn't believe his eyes when the hood fell back to reveal the face of Sirius.
"Sirius!" Harry said in surprise and hopeful. "Don't tell me you've been cleared of your charges and can take me in?"
"No, I'm still on the run from the Demontors for murder." Sirius said with a sigh.
"Murder?" asked Uncle Vernon. All color drained from his face as his worst thoughts filled his head. "Is this that mad escape prisoner you've been writing to and threatening us with? You didn't write to him and ask him to kill us, did you?"
"No, of course not," replied Harry.
"I want you to meet my sister, Tonks." Sirius said as a young woman with pink hair appeared before him. "As you know from the science you took in your old school, there is air between the atoms that build everything. One who can shift her shape like her can alter her appearance at will."
As if on clue, Tonks hair changed from bubblegum pink to fire engine red. "If hour plans works, you won't have to return to these muggles ever again."
"If you have a way so that this little freak won't have to come back next summer, you do what you have to and be done with it." Uncle Vernon said with a superior glare in his face that almost could past as a smile.
"Concentrate on changing something about you like I did." Tonks said softly. "While you're at it, try to make your scar invisible."
"Okay." Harry said. He closed his eyes and concentrated. As he did, he felt his hair brushing again his shoulders. When he opened his eyes, mad eye Moody and his other friends in The Order of Phoenix were giggling. "What?"
"I think you took Tonks a bit too literally." Hagrid snickered as Harry turned to the mirror. With the long hair and missing scar, Harry saw a rather nice looking girl starring back at him from the glass.
"I look like a girl." Harry said as he laughed at his own mistake. "Makes me thing of when that boggart turned into Professor Snape during my third year of school."
"That's not a bad idea now that I come to think of it." Professor Dumbledore said with a snicker while stroking his long beard. "You see Harry," he began. "We had plan to get you out of this house and the yearly attacks on you at school by faking your death and giving you a new identity. Voldermort might still be looking for a boy, but I think he'd find your death more convincing if your new face was a girl."
Dudley, who had woke up from all the shouting was snickering atop of the stairs. "Oh yes, you will be the belle of the ball."
"Shut up!" Harry snapped.
"You don't have to be a girl." Professor Dumbledore assured him. "It is merely a suggestion."
Harry took another look at himself in the mirror again. He did look cute and wouldn't have any trouble getting a date for the school dances. "Aren't I too old to be a new student?"
"Hogswarts may be the best school for Witchcraft and Wizardly, but it isn't the only one." Professor Dumbledore said with reassurance. "I happen to know of a young witch who died over the summer with her parents. They were friends with young Ron's parents who I'm sure will be glad to take you in. Since I still have influence in the wizard bank you'll still have access to both your new identity's money as well as your old."
"Okay, let's do this before I change my mind." Harry said as Mad Eye Moody summoned up an image of the girl in thin air. Harry concentrated on the image until he was an exact double, right down to her wizard robes.
"Now for the final touch," Professor Dumbledore said as he drew his wand and blew up a display of china dishes.
"What's that for!" Uncle Vernon screamed.
"That blast was Harry's death by some unknown dark wizard such as Lord Voldermort himself. Come, Holly." Professor Dumbledore said as he addressed Harry by his new name. "Ron and Hermione are both at Ron's place right now. Both have been made prefects at school and be eager to meet the new you before school starts.
