The Male Debutantes' Pageant

Chapter Fifteen
The ambulance arrived at the hospital. Amy stayed with Mandy while Deirdre registered Mandy's details with the hospital casualty receptionist.
"I would like to register details of the patient who has just arrived in the ambulance."
"What's her full name?"
"Andrew Simon Jacobs."
"The patient was a girl, surely?"
"No, he's my son."
"So you're his mother?"
"Let us get the gender of all concerned here clear. I am Andrew's father and he is my son." Deirdre spoke in an intense whisper. She had no wish to attract unwelcome attention by announcing her true gender to a crowded reception area.
The receptionist gave Deirdre a meaningful look. It had been a long day, Saturdays always were, and she could do without cross-dressing comedians.
"His mother and sister are coming by car. They should be here shortly," added Deirdre.
The receptionist thought briefly to herself about how they would be dressed, but maintained a professional manner.
"Will you fill this form in, please." Deirdre set to work completing the form and passed the completed form back to the receptionist. Then she went and found Mandy on a stretcher on a trolley in an aisle in the reception area. Amy was sitting next to the stretcher, holding Mandy's hand and crying quietly. Mandy had been given pain-killers and sedatives by the ambulance crew and was not in too much discomfort in the circumstances.
"That's got that sorted," said Deirdre quietly, referring to the successfully completed paperwork. "I wonder how long we are going to have to wait before Mandy gets seen."
Deirdre was feeling decidedly uncomfortable. It was her first time in such a public place en femme and she was sure that everyone was staring at her.
It was only a few minutes before Jane and Karen arrived. Deirdre was very relieved to have more of a crowd round her.
Jane and Karen spoke in nervous whispers about Mandy's condition and how long they would have to wait. Mandy waited quietly on the stretcher. The sedatives were making her feel quite drowsy and she could not feel very much pain from her wounds. Amy was too upset to speak.
After an age, maybe one hour, maybe two, they called Mandy's name and Deirdre and Karen pushed the stretcher towards the doctor. An orderly took the trolley from them and Mandy disappeared behind a curtain to be treated.
As Mandy disappeared, Amy broke down and sobbed loudly.
Deirdre hugged her.
"Mandy's in good hands, Amy. She'll be OK. She'll be sore for a few days, but soon she'll be better."
"But did you see that wound? It was horrible. I hope Mandy won't be damaged for life." Amy sobbed loudly again.
"They can work wonders, Amy," said Jane reassuringly, although she herself needed reassurance. "They can even sew hands back on when they have been cut off in an accident, so I'm sure they will be able to help Mandy to a full recovery."
In reality, Jane was extremely concerned for the fullness of Mandy's recovery. She was extremely concerned that Mandy would not recover fully enough to be able to father children. It was not the right time to voice these fears to Amy, however.
A further anxious wait of fifteen to twenty minutes followed, and then the doctor came to talk to them.
"I've put some stitches in the wounds. There was a cut to Andrew's leg which narrowly missed an artery. If that had been severed, he would have been in severe danger without urgent help. There is another wound to his penis. The wound is about three inches long, but not too deep, fortunately. It is too early to say if his penis will recover fully without further treatment. It will take time and he will need to stay here overnight and possibly for a few days. I've made the arrangements and he will be able to go up to the children's ward, as he is under sixteen. I think he'll find it quieter and more comfortable there, especially given the way he's dressed.
"Thank you very much doctor," said Jane.
An orderly wheeled Mandy, still on the stretcher, away to the ward and the others followed in silence behind them.
Amy's mind was a whirl. What did the doctor mean by Mandy's penis making a full recovery? What would happen if Mandy did not make a full recovery? Would that mean that Mandy could never be a father? Would his penis have to be removed? Poor Mandy. But Amy decided during the walk to the ward that Mandy was the only one for her, no matter what.
The hospital seemed to be vast and the walk to last for hours. But eventually, they arrived at the boys' ward. The ward had six beds but there were only two other boys in the ward. Both were much younger than Mandy, perhaps six or seven years old.
The nurses on the ward made the bed ready for Mandy and they helped the orderly lift Mandy carefully into the bed.
The nurses then helped Mandy change into the nightdress which Jane had brought. The nurses were really friendly and cheerfully accepted the fact that Mandy was wearing a bra and had false breasts glued to her chest. The false breasts glued to Mandy's chest were a surprise to the rest of the Jacobs family, but there were more pressing concerns than false breasts.
"She does make such a pretty girl," said Jane fondly as Mandy settled down and started to drift off to sleep.
The nurses looked at each other. The Jacobs family was unusual; there could be no question of that. But they were unusually close and loving as well. The two males so deeply in touch with their feminine side must help that.
"I know it's a horrible thing to say," said Karen, "and I am sure it won't happen, but if Mandy did lose her penis, she would be OK as a girl."
"Poor Mandy," said Amy. "That can't happen, can it?"
"It can happen to any man, any day," said Deirdre philosophically. "But it is not going to happen to Mandy today. She is quite safe and in the best hands, Amy. You really shouldn't worry."
The nurses told them it was time to leave and they arranged to come back as early as possible next day. Amy was reluctant to leave and desperate to be with Mandy as soon as possible.
While Mandy slept, the rest of the Jacobs family and Amy went back to Nutstead. As soon as Amy got home, she was on the phone to Kirsty to tell her the news.
"Hi Kirsty, it's Amy. Mandy got stabbed by Jess."
"Ohmigod! How is she?"
"She's in hospital. Jess tried to cut off her willy."
"She's mad. She is totally deranged. What happened?"
"We were trying on our new clothes and Mandy wanted to pop home to get some different shoes. She was wearing her new pencil skirt and she was just walking along the lane to her house when Jess, Lucy and Gemma jumped her. Jess said some things and Lucy and Gemma held Mandy while Jess stabbed her. Except Gemma and Lucy didn't know that Jess had a knife. They thought she was just going to hit Mandy, like she did in school the other day."
"Then what?"
"When Gemma realised that Mandy's skirt was torn and saw the blood, she pushed Jess off and gave Mandy first aid and sent Lucy to get help. Lucy came and knocked on the door here."
"And what did you do?"
"I called for the police and an ambulance. The police came and arrested Lucy and Gemma and then they went to look for Jess. Then the ambulance came and we went with Mandy to hospital. We had to wait for hours but the ambulance men gave Mandy some drugs so she wasn't in too much pain. She seemed surprisingly comfortable considering."
"That's something. How long do they think she'll be in for?"
"They weren't sure. A few days probably. The ward is really nice where Mandy is. There are six beds and only two little boys in it, as well as Mandy. The nurses were really nice. They didn't mind Mandy being a girl at all."
"Well, they probably like having another girl on the ward. Can we go and see Mandy tomorrow?"
"I'm going tomorrow morning with Jane and Deirdre. I'm sure it will be OK if you want to come, but I'll call you when I'm there."
"OK, see you tomorrow, then Amy."
"Will do. Bye."
Amy then phoned Abigail, who relayed the news to Alison and Sam.
Amy went and sat in the living room with her mum and cried again.
Mandy spent a comfortable night until the painkillers started to wear off. Then it was clear just how painful her wounds were. The worst part was that she needed to urinate. She feared this would be both painful and messy. She called for the nurse. The nurse brought a bed-pan and a large diaper to soak up any spillage. Mandy's penis was very painful to move and they certainly did not the dressings on her wound to become damp.
Next morning Alison went to Sam's house. Sam was dressed as Sally, wearing a pretty blue sundress, with short sleeves and a skirt which came just below the knee. She also wore low heel sandals. Sally had done her own make-up, with guidance for Janet, her mother.
"You look really nice Sally," said Alison. "Did you do your own make-up?"
"Yeah, but mum helped me a lot."
"Well, whoever helped, it looks really good."
Alison changed the subject. "What do you think about Jess?"
"It's terrible. She should go to prison for what she did. She could have killed Mandy."
"Yeah, from what Amy said, Gemma saved Mandy's life."
"How do you work that out?"
"Well, if Gemma hadn't put the dressing on the wound and got Lucy to go for help, then Mandy could have bled to death."
"That's terrible. Poor Mandy. Will his willy be OK?"
"They don't know yet."
"That's awful. Poor Mandy." Sam was really feeling his friend's pain. "Ali, do you think Amy would still go out with Mandy, even if he couldn't use his willy any more?"
"I don't know. I'm sure she will. They seem so much in love. I hope so. I know I would, if I really loved someone."
"Would you really?"
"Oh yes. I'd love a man for the person he is, not the things he can or can't do."
"Even me?"
Alison giggled. "That's a good sign Sally. It shows we're becoming really good friends."
"What does?"
"I forgot I was talking to a boy. I was talking to another girl then."
"How is that a good thing?"
"It shows I'm relaxing in your company and that I'm getting to really like you. That's a good thing isn't it?"
"Yeah. When you put it like that, it is a good thing."
"What about you Sally? If the girl you loved had an injury which meant she couldn't have children, would you still love her?"
"Of course. I'm not sure I'd want children anyway."
"Really? I think I would want to have children one day."
"I've never really thought about it. I suppose it's natural when you get older and you have a home and everything. I suppose you know what it's like to have children because of your little brother."
"Yeah. It must be harder for you being an only child. You'll have to baby-sit for him. That's a nice girly job for you." Alison smiled as she looked at Sally.
"OK. I could give him music lessons."
"Wow. Would you really? He'd love that. He loves music; he's always singing."
"Does he sing in tune?"
"Pretty much, as far as I can tell. But you're much more musical than I am." Alison paused and thought for a minute. "If you can teach him, why can't you teach me?"
"What, to play the piano?"
"Yeah. I've always wanted to learn."
"OK. I'll teach you, and I'll show you some fun duets we can play together."
Sally found some easy tunes for Alison to play. She showed Alison how to hold her hands, starting with her right hand to play the tune and adding chords with the left hand. Alison found the right hand easy enough, when it was one finger at a time. The left hand parts were harder because she had to play three notes at a time. The really tricky part was playing with both hands together. Alison tried playing with both hands really slowly but found it frustrating. Sally was a very sympathetic and patient teacher. Sally just loved sitting next to Alison, touching her arm and breathing in her perfume.
Downstairs, Janet heard the novice playing the piano and could guess what was happening. She was really happy for Sam. Alison was such a lovely girl, both in looks and personality.
After nearly an hour, Sally decided to show Alison a duet. Sally showed Alison the right hand part, which Alison found quite easy, and then Sally played the left hand, which was a repeated series of chords. Alison was so impressed.
"Sally, this is really fun."
"Yeah it's quite easy when you get into it."
"Can you change it?"
"Yeah. All the chords have patterns. Basically as long as you don't play two notes next to each other, it will sound OK. You can't play a bum chord on the black notes. Try it."
Alison hit several black notes at the same time. Sure enough, the chords all sounded fine.
"Now play B and C together." Sally pointed out the notes for Alison.
"Eeeoooh! That's horrible. Why is that?"
"They're only a semi-tone apart. All the black notes are at least a whole tone apart, so they don't clash."
"You're so clever, Sally. Can I come and have a music lesson every day."
"Can you afford the lessons? I'm very expensive."
"What do you charge?"
"Hmm, let's see. You can pay me in kisses."
"OK. That's not so bad. Even payment could be a pleasure. Would you like a little down-payment now?"
Sally looked straight into Alison's eyes. She leaned towards her and they kissed; their tongues explored each other's mouths.
"That was well worth an hour of teaching you the piano," said Sally.
"Oh, I thought I'd have to do that for every minute."
"I wouldn't mind."
They kissed again.
"Ali, I've done something I've never done before and it's not quite finished, but..."
"Go on. What have you done?"
"I started to write a song for you."
"A song? For me? Play it now Sally."
"Oh. I'm all shy now. It's not very good and I wanted it to be perfect."
"It'll be perfect to me, Sally. It will definitely be better than any song I've ever written."
"It's not finished, I've only done two verses and the last line."
"That'll do. You can hum the rest."
"That reminds me. My dad has this ancient song from the nineteen fifties or something, about this bloke who crashes a car and his dying words are Bum. Bum. Bum. Tell Laura I love her." Sally giggled nervously.
"I think I'd say something a bit stronger than Bum Bum Bum. Now, play my song! I'm going too sit here and sulk until you do."
"OK. Promise you won't laugh?"
"Guides honour."
Sally turned to the piano, played a short introduction, and then started to sing.
"I see you laughing with your friends. I wish you'd laugh with me.
I love to see your smiling face. I wish you'd smile at me.
I love the way you stroke your hair. One day will you stroke me?
I love the way your dresses sway. Your grace is all I see.
Oh, Ali, won't you spend an hour with me.If I could spend an hour with you, I know that you'd like me.
I'm really not that bad a boy. I'll treat you perfectly.
I'd show you everything I own. It's yours, all that you see.
I'll give you things like diamond rings and give you all of me.
Oh, Ali, won't you spend a day with me."Sally stopped singing and continued speaking. "The last line is Oh, Ali, won't you spend your life with me."
Alison had tears in her eyes.
"It wasn't that bad was it?"
"Sally, that was beautiful. And was that a proposal?"
"Thank you. Yes, it was a proposal. Should I have been kneeling down?"
"Probably, and you probably should have been wearing a suit, not a dress, but that doesn't matter. What matters is how romantic it was. And that was romantic. Did you write that yourself?"
"Yeah."
"You're amazing." Alison kissed Sally as though her life depended on it.
"I can't believe that you're same person I used to see at the bus stop. You must play it for your number one fan."
"Aren't you my number one fan?"
"No, I've got a little brother, remember?"
"Yes, but he's never heard me sing."
"No, but his number one fan is his mother."
"Mum won't want to hear that."
"I think we should let her be the judge of that. Come on, and bring your keyboard."
Alison was right. Janet did want to hear Sally's song. Janet listened with rapt attention.
"Sally, that was wonderful. You really wrote that yourself? And the music? Well done."
"It gets better than that Janet. Sally proposed to me with the last line."
"Did you accept?"
"I didn't say yes and I didn't say no, but how can any girl turn down a proposal like that?"
"Quite. I remember my proposal. It was nothing like that."
"What was it like?" asked Sally.
"It was in a restaurant. Your father had drunk several glasses of wine. He just reached out and took my hand and said it, 'will you marry me?' No kneeling or anything, but it was a nice romantic candle-lit meal in a lovely restaurant, so I won't complain. But Sally was special. She put a lot of thought and love into writing a special poem for the girl of her dreams."
"Yeah. Sally is a real romantic. That's really special."
Sally was getting very embarrassed with being called romantic. It was one of the last words Sam would have used to describe himself.
"Would you like another music lesson?"
"What now? Or do you just want me to kiss you again?"
"Yeah, that too. You see mum, I'm teaching Ali to play the piano and she pays me by kissing me."
"That's sweet. Everyone's happy. Go on, you go and enjoy your piano lesson. And thank you for coming down and playing your song. It was really beautiful."
Janet watched as her son and prospective daughter-in-law left the room. She could not have been happier for Sally.
Chapter 16
Back at the hospital, Jane, Deirdre and Amy were sitting with Mandy. A consultant urologist was going to talk to Mandy on Monday but in the meantime she would just have to sit and wait to get better. Amy went outside to get some air and decided to ring Kirsty.
"Hi Kirsty? It's Amy."
"Hi Amy. How's Mandy? Can we come and see her?"
"No, they only allow four visitors at once. Mandy's OK. She's very sore when the pain killers start to wear off, but they are giving lots of pain killers, so she's not too bad. She is going to see a consultant tomorrow and he will decide when she can go home."
"Gemma rang me. She is so upset about what happened. You know she and Lucy got arrested?"
"Yeah. Did they find Jess?"
"Yes. She still had the knife in her bag when she was arrested. The police let Gemma and Lucy go after they spent the night in the police station, but Jess is still in the police cells. Gemma's parents hit the ceiling. Well that's putting it mildly. She's been grounded forever and banned from ever seeing Jess again."
"What's going to happen to Jess?"
"Gemma didn't know. She could be released on bail, which means her dad would have to find a lot of money and if Jess got in trouble again, he would lose the money. I think that's how she said it works. Or she might have to wear a tag on her ankle, so the police would know wherever she went."
"I've seen those on telly. But they're quite big aren't they, and black? Aren't they about the size of a mobile phone? It will look great with a school skirt."
"Yeah. She'd have to wear white socks like the juniors. She won't be able to get tights on."
"I suppose she could wear stockings. But will they let her back in school?"
"I don't know. It's hard to get expelled, but you would have thought that trying to kill a fellow student would be enough to get you thrown out."
"Did Gemma know what happened to Lucy?"
"The same. Her parents went mad and she's been grounded. The police say they will both be charged with assault."
"That's a bit unfair. Gemma saved Mandy's life, in a way."
"I'm sure the court will take that into consideration. But she was happy enough to hold Mandy while she was being punched by Jess."
"That's true. When is Jess going to be let out?"
"We don't know yet. She may be held in prison until the trial or she may be let out later today if the police decide to release her. Gemma thought it would be most likely that she'll be kept in prison at least until she sees a magistrate."
"What does that mean?"
"The magistrate is like a lower court and they decide if Jess is safe to be released, or if she has to stay in prison until the main trial. If she is let out, there is one good thing about it for us. She will know that if she gets into any more trouble, the police can bring a charge of attempted murder. That can mean life imprisonment."
"Ohmigod! But it's what she deserves."
"The other thing, Gemma and Lucy were so sorry for what happened that they wanted to get Mandy a present. What do you think she'd like?"
"All girls love flowers and chocolates. They couldn't go wrong with those."
"Yeah, I'll suggest that. I think that's sweet and kind of ironic. They attack a boy because he's trying to be a girl. Then they give him a girly present to say sorry."
"I'd better go, Kirsty. They'll be wondering where I am."
"OK. Bye Amy and give my love to Mandy."
Amy pushed the button on her phone and hurried back to Mandy.
Mandy and her family were pleased to hear that Jess had been arrested by the police and that she was facing serious charges.
"I can't imagine what got into that girl," said Jane. "She was obsessed with harming Danni and now this. I am so relieved she is in prison, where she can't do any more damage."
"I'm just so sorry we didn't do more to protect you," added Deirdre. "I never knew Jess was such a threat. Did she threaten you at school?"
"Yes, she punched me once or twice," said Mandy, "but she never threatened me with a knife."
"Why didn't you tell us she was threatening you?" asked Jane.
"It was only playground fighting. What could you do?"
"Mandy has a point, Jane. The school can hardly get restraining orders every time there is a little scuffle in the playground."
"That's all very well, but she used a knife," said Jane.
"Yes, but you couldn't restrain her until she actually committed a crime," pointed out Deirdre.
"A playground fight is hardly a crime," said Mandy.
"There was what she said after youth club last week, though," added Amy.
"What was that?" asked Jane.
"I can't remember exactly. She something about how Mandy and me were lipstick lesbians and how she enjoyed performing surgery to get Danni's ears pierced and would like to perform surgery, so Mandy would become a real girl. Oh, no! I just thought." The colour drained form Amy's face at the thought.
"What is it Amy?" asked Jane quietly.
"Well that awful cut on Mandy's penis."
"Go on, what about it?"
"She was wearing this gorgeous pencil skirt and you could see the bulge at the front, so I tied it back between her legs."
"You tied Mandy's penis?" Jane was not at all pleased to hear this.
"Yes, but if I hadn't…" Amy started crying again.
"If you hadn't," continued Deirdre, "there is a real chance that Jess would have cut everything off."
Amy nodded. Mandy and Jane were both white as sheets.
"But that didn't happen, thank goodness," said Deirdre quietly, "and it won't happen. Jess is locked away and she will not cause any more trouble."
"I'm not very happy about you letting Amy touch you down there, Mandy," said Jane sternly.
"I'm sorry. It was only to make my skirt hang properly."
"I'm very pleased she did, though," said Deirdre, "in the light of what happened. That action very probably saved the Jacobs family line. I'm very pleased to have a son and heir and one day I hope to see Mandy follow the tradition."
"Oh, so do I," said Amy earnestly.
"And me," added Mandy from her bed.
Jane was still cross. She was used to hearing Deirdre back her up whenever she spoke to the children about their actions.
"Did you mention this to the police when you spoke to them yesterday?"
"I don't think so. Do you think I should?"
"Amy, you must tell the police everything you know," said Deirdre. "If you don't remember something until you are cross-examined, it will make it much harder to convict Jess."
"I'm going to have to stand up in court?" Amy was alarmed by the prospect.
"It's possible, and Mandy might also."
"Oh god, no," said Mandy. "I'm going to have to stand up in court and tell everyone all about dressing as a girl. It'll be in the papers."
"I don't think you need to worry about that now, Mandy," said Karen. "They usually order newspapers not to identify young people under sixteen, especially victims of an assault."
Jane considered the situation. "It's far more likely that the police will threaten a very serious offence, like attempted murder. Jess's lawyers know she was found in possession of a blood-stained knife immediately after the crime was committed. The best she can hope for is to plead guilty to lesser charge, like malicious wounding, and the trial will be over in a matter of minutes with no evidence being given by any witnesses."
"That seems the most likely outcome," agreed Deirdre. "So you must make sure the police are aware of all the facts you know, like the incident with Danni's ears."
"Oh yes, we need to tell them about that," said Mandy.
"But that means that Danni and Kirsty might have to give evidence as well," said Amy.
"Yes, they might," said Deirdre. "On reflection, I don't think that the incident with Danni's ears will be able to be proved because he had his ears pierced professionally later the same day. It would look as though Jess was trying to carry out a request Danni made, rather than the crime it really was. The only evidence the court would have, would be Danni's word that Jess assaulted him. That would never be enough evidence to gain a conviction.
"Yes, that was the story Jess gave Danni's dad after he went to see them," said Jane. "But you need to mention it to the police, so they can decide if the information is relevant or not."
The discussion continued long into the afternoon as they all tried to decide the most likely outcome of the situation.
By the time Amy left hospital, it was too late for her to go to the youth club.
However, Danni and Kirsty, Alison and Sally all went to the youth club, where they met Abigail and the others.
Needless to say the conversation was dominated by the attack on Mandy. No-one had seen Jess and there had been not further contact from Lucy or Gemma. They presumed that Jess had not been released by the police.
At Alison's insistence, Sally took her keyboard. The girls at youth club were astonished at the transformation from the shy, grumpy Sam to the cheerful, extrovert Sally, in her pretty blue dress. But the real surprise for them was the way she sang and played the piano.
Alison couldn't wait to tell Abigail about her day with Sally.
"Sally wrote a song for me. It was really romantic."
"Will she play it now?"
"I'll try and persuade her. She wrote really nice words. And it finishes with a proposal."
"A proposal? Sally wants to marry you? That's quick work; you've only been going out since yesterday. Did you accept?"
"Of course not. But I didn't say no either."
"You little tease. Keeping the poor lovesick boy in suspenders like that."
"But he's not in suspenders. Sally's wearing tights."
"You know what I mean."
"Well, I can hardly say yes or no. I need a bit of time to get to know Sam. I only know Sally. I really do like Sally. I wonder if Sam will still be like Sally after the pageant."
"You'll have to make him."
"How will I do that?"
"Steal all his boy clothes and make him wear pretty dresses."
"No seriously Abi, how can I make him be like Sally when he's back to being Sam?"
"Do you remember how he fought us when we first tried to make him Sally? Then, as soon as we were nice to him, he was nice."
"So just keep being nice to Sam and he'll keep being nice?"
"Try it. If he's writing love poems to you, he must really fancy you."
"Shall I ask Sally to sing my song?"
"Yeah, but I bet she won't."
Alison walked over to the crowd of girls gathered around Sally and her keyboard. She waited for Sally to finish the song she was playing, and singing along falsetto in the same pitch with the other girls.
"Sally, will you play my song?"
"The one I wrote for you?"
"Yes. Please Sally. Abi wants to hear it and I really want to hear it again."
The crowd of girls were agog. They all wanted to hear the song.
"But it's really personal. I wrote it just for you, Ali."
Sally's efforts to put off the girls only increased their desire to hear it. Eventually Sally relented and sang the song. The girls listened with increasing admiration and clapped and cheered at the end.
Alison spoke quietly to Abigail. "Sally said she was going to write some more verses and finish with the line 'Ali, will you spend your life with me'".
Abigail was impressed. "Sally really is so romantic. Wouldn't it be great if we could get the girls to do a talent spot in the pageant. Sally would win for sure."
"That's a great idea Abi. The others will probably do bloke things like farting the national anthem."
"Or dancing. They'd all look really crap. Sally has genuine talent. I suppose Mandy would sing along with a karaoke tape of 'Man I feel like a woman' or something. What could Danni do?"
"Danni? She could demonstrate how to put on make-up in under a minute. That would show the girls up."
"Yeah, still, it's a shame none of the boys will want to do a talent spot."
"To be fair, they are making themselves look silly by trying to dress as girls. It would be a bit much to expect them to go and make themselves look even more silly. Let's go and see how Sally is doing."
The two girls went back to the crowd around Sally. Sally had played all the songs she knew well and the girls were suggesting other songs she could play. The girls sang the first few notes of a song and Sally was able to play the song. Sally amazed all the girls with her talent.
At the end of the evening, Alison made Sally promise to give her another piano lesson the next day.
They also had to plan when they would go to visit Mandy in hospital. Amy had told Kirsty that the hospital would only allow four visitors, so Kirsty and Danni agreed to go in the morning with Amy, then Sally, Alison and Abigail would go in the afternoon.
