The Making of a Faery

by: Donna Allyson

Prologue: Jane Ashley was a kind, considerate and very devout woman. She had tried constantly to infuse those same values into her two children. With Janet, the older of her two children, she had succeeded admirably, not so with Jake, her younger child.

Jane had married her husband Sam some twenty years earlier. Their son Jake had been born near the end of the third year of their marriage. Their relationship had gone sour shortly after Janet's birth. Sam had been laid off from his job and had taken to drinking heavily out of self pity. One evening on the way home from the local bar, he had lost control of his car and struck a tree. He had been killed instantly. Luckily. Jane had continued to scrape together the monthly premiums on his life insurance. The benefits paid to Jane along with the triple accidental indemnity clause, was enough to assure that the family income would be maintained until the children were eighteen years old.

Jake entered the first grade the following year after Sam's demise. Jane had him enrolled at St. Mary's with the thought that a good parochial school environment would ensure that he learn the proper education, discipline and moral values. The first two years went along smoothly except for the typical tricks that young boys do. It was in the third grade that things went wrong. So wrong in fact that Jake was one of those few boys that the school felt compelled to transfer to Sister Angelica's care. In his case the petticoat discipline had not helped. He just became more unmanageable, skirts or not. It was just too much aggravation with having a toddler to deal with. Jane was constantly having to meet with the nuns at the school. The child psychologists had kept telling her that the problem would go away on its own. That Jake's problem was due to his "trying to cope with the loss of his father." It was just too much for Jane to bear.

In the end, Jane was forced to transfer him to the public school system. Although Jake did fairly well there academically, the environment and discipline was in no way comparable to that at St. Mary's. Slowly, Jake associated himself with the rough and tumble crowd and eventually he became, due to a more developed physical stature, the leader of the tough crowd. Jane was determined that Janet would go to St. Mary's at least. She did not want her to turn out like her brother.

Chapter 1 Bullies and Bigots

Jake Ashley, at 17 years old thought he had it all figuered out. He was, in his own opinion, "on top of the world." He was, at 190 pounds and nearly 6 feet tall, just about the biggest kid in school. He could whip anyone who challenged him and not too may had tried. He felt his sexual prowess was probably better than any of the other jocks at his school. After all, he had made his first conquest of the female sex almost 3 years earlier. Of course he would not admit that the girl had been two years older than himself at the time and was known as a town slut. To Jake, he had conquered the girl. He had since then been lucky. His escapades had not resulted in any of the girls getting pregnant. Of course he really didn't care if any of the girls got knocked up. That was their problem. After all girls were only good for one or two things anyway, Making babies, looking pretty and serving their guys. Hell he thought, If he did get a girl in "trouble" he would have his father take care of it. he was loaded with dough and a lawyer to boot.

Jake had never liked Kenneth Brewster. The kid was the only boy in a family of four sisters and he was the third youngest. Jake had met the Brewster kids at the town beach just after they had moved into town. Jake had been hanging out at the beach with a couple of his buddies when the Brewsters had arrived. He watched as the new kids spread out a blanket and laid out their towels. Jake just shook his head. Everything they carried with them was pink or yellow or some other girlish design. The shock to Jake's macho came when he observed the boy was wearing what obviously was a pair of one of his sister's beach shoes. White with pink trim. Jake looked close at the boy. He was obviously a sissy. Long hair down to his shoulders, girl's shoes, and obviously enjoying himself with the girls. Jake formed his opinion. He's just like all the girls in town. Silly, and stupid and to top it off, a fairy. He had a new kid to bully. Jake thought. The two other boys with him agreed with Jake as he voiced his opinions and what he would do to the new "sissy" in town. "Maybe we can do something from one of those sissy stories on the internet. He remarked to his friends. Of course Sid and Billy would agree. They were not to bright . But they were brothers and to Jake's perspective they were loyal to each other and loyal to him. To Jake, followers were important no matter how stupid they were. In their case, Jake assumed that it must run in the family.

Jake watched the boy as he crossed the street at the pedestrian crosswalk. From his seat next to the window of the local hangout, Jake smiled. His day was made. Jake gave Sid a poke in the ribs to get his attention. "Look what we have here." "That Brewster kid never learns. That little 'pansy' is headed into our territory again." Jake said as he jestured out the window. "Look at him." Jake said laughingly. "He's wearing white shorts and a pink Tee-shirt. he even has on a gold necklace."

"Ya, and he even has a ribbon in his hair. Man is he a sissy. Replied Billy."

"Well I guess we will have to teach him another lesson. Huh Jake."

Said Sid looking at his buddy for confirmation and approval.

"Ya Sid, I guess we will. I told him at school not to come down to this end of town or he would be sorry. After kicking his ass yesterday, that should have been enough warning. Tell Billy to get over here." Jake said to Sid pointing at Billy. "Tell him to get his hand out of that girl's skirt and get over here. Now. I'll meet you guys out front." Jake got up and left the shop. He would intercept the fairy before he could get away.Little did Jake know that Kenneth was looking for him.

Kenneth had come home from school the previous day and went straight to his room. He was sore all over. Most of the bruises were more to his pride than anything else. He had tried to defend himself and probably could have done a fairly good job at it had it not been for his promise to his mother not to fight. She had always told him and his sisters that there were "other ways" to deal with injustice. She had told them that she would 'always see to it that he and his sisters would not be harmed without justice being done and lessons learned.'

Kenneth knew that his mother would be home soon and the huge black eye that he sported would give rise to a lot of questions. As always, he would tell her the details of the incident and let her handle it. Kenneth and his sisters knew the truth about their mother and always defered to her judgement. Kenneth trusted his mother implicitly.

Chapter 2 The Plan

Sarah Brewster was self employed. She was an owner of Brewsters Associates of Greenwood Arizona. , a special applications Computer Sales and Marketing Firm . Actually she was co-owner with her children. The firm had actually been owned by her husband and was left to her and the children in his will. Since the kids were all minors, she acted as trustee until they became 21 years old. Brenda, the oldest would become of agein a few months and would join her in the business. The hours were long and kept her away from home longer than she liked, but she at least knew that Brenda would watch over her siblings almost like a mother. Louanne was just as competant as well. Brenda was 20 years old, followed by Louanne at 18, Kenneth at 14, and the twins, Mary and Margaret at 12. Quite a brood for a working mother, but Sarah would have it no other way. Being a "Fairy Godmother to Humanity" was a help however. Not that she did much with her powers except grant an occasional wish over the Internet to some poor soul who was in desperate need. And of course she would use the power to protect her children and the children of her friends. It was to be just such a scenario that would cause Jake and is buddies a lot of humiliation in the weeks ahead. Sarah was about to teach a group of thugs an important lesson in human decency. The hard way.

That evening when Kenneth recounted the events at school and how he had been stopped by Jake and his buddies and was accused of being a "fairy". He told Sarah how he had tried to walk around the guys and they had grabbed him and had punched him until he fell to the ground. He told her that they then kicked him a few times and told him never to come downtown. That it was their territory and that they didn't like sissies on their turf.

Sarah felt saddness and rage all at once. Rage, that her son had been accosted by a macho bully and his goons, and still sadness for the boy who obviously had a serious social conformity problem. Probably the result of parents who had never taken the time to teach their sons any lessons in respect and courtesy for others. "Well" Sarah thought, "Time to do the fairy godmother thing again."

"Kenneth, you did well in not retaliating. Physical violence solves nothing. But I think you will like what I have in store for Jake. And, I think his pals will get the message when they see the results. This is what I want you to do tomorrow............"

Kenneth forgot all about his sore body when he had heard the last of his mothers plan. He got up from the bed that he had been sitting on and walked over to his mother and hugged her. Long and tenderly.

"Thanks Mom. That will work just fine." Ken knew his mother had special powers but he never questioned how or why she did. He just knew that whatever she decided would be the right thing to do. Neither Ken nor his sisters ever questioned their mother's judgment. It just seemed that it was always right.

The twins had overheard the conversation and their mother's plans for Jake. They could not help but stick their curley heads around the corner of the doorway and giggle. "Can he come and play with us afterwards?" the girls asked in unison.

"Maybe dears. Maybe.... Sarah left the reply unfinished. She smiled to herself mischiefly. 'Maybe indeed girls' She said to herself. "Now shoo, I need to talk to Ken alone. The twins giggled again and ran off to their own room. "Mom? he asked after his sisters had gone, Is Jake right? Am I a sissy or something?

"No Son. Your not. What you are is a young man who has been raised in a family of girls. It is true that some of the feminine traits may have rubbed off on you, but all that has happened is that you are turning out to be a fine young man who will be able to understand what girls need and appreciate and it will serve you well as you get older. On the other hand, you do have another option."

"What is that? Kenneth asked.

Sarah looked at her son for a long moment. Pondering whether this was the time to tell him the whole story. "Ken come down stairs, I have something to tell you and your sisters as well."

Kenneth could see that his mother was serious. He did as he was told and went down to the living room and sat on the sofa.

When Sarah had all the children assembled together, she spent the next hour recounting the history and legacy of their family. A family descended for centuries from fairies.

Then finally she turned to Ken and addressed him directly "......I had hoped that this possibility would not surface honey, but I see that it has and you deserve to know why you feel the way you do. For your sisters there is no problem. When they reach maturity at age 25 or so, the will become fairy godmothers too. But for you, a decision has to be made very soon.

Sarah went on to explain. " When I decided to marry your father, I was summoned before the Grand Council. I was offered a choice. Either to abandon my desire to marry a mortal or become a guardian of humanitiy As such I would be given the power to help people in times of emotional crisis. Those people who would otherwise sink into deep depression and possibly take their own lives. I would be allowed however to use my power to protect all children from harm but only in such a way as it did not do any physical harm to anyone else. There was one condition set that I had to obey. All my children must be born female and they would be required to also become guardians as well. That is what each of you will ultimately become on your 25th birthday." Sarah paused in her explanation and looked for any reactions from her children.

None of the girls said anything but Sarah noted a quizzical look on Ken's face.

"I know Ken. I can see in your face what is on your mind. You want to know how this whole thing effects you. Why were you not born a girl as well?"

"Well yes Mother. That is on my mind. I seems contradictory."

"No contradiction at all Ken. After your two older sisters were born, Your father wanted a son. I could not refuse. I loved him dearly and wanted to give him his one great wish. I went before the Grand Council and asked them to allow me to give him a son and they agreed. One condition applied. that during the boy's fourteenth year, He had to be allowed the privilege of become a female and accepting his/her role in the inheritance of the family tradition. Ken dear, I think you are now experiencing the beginnings of your time of trial. The femininity you are experiencing is to help you make the decision that you must soon make. That of becoming a girl for a year. During that time you must serve as an junior apprentice guardian just as Brenda and Luanne are doing now. After which you can make a final choice as to what you wish to do. Stay a girl and become a true guardian or revert back to being a man. The decision is yours only to make. You can refuse. But on your fifteenth birthday, the option will be gone forever. Either way I will support your decision."

Sarah finished her explanation and waited for what she thought would be an awkward and embarrassing response from her son.

"Thanks Mom. Now I understand. When will the change occur?" Kenneth asked.

"First you must make the commitment, Then there will be a midnight ceremony attended by 3 members of the Grand Council one of which will be the Fairy Queen.Of course I and your sisters will be there as well except for Mary and Margaret. They are too young yet. During the ceremony the Queen will ask you if you truly wish to transition. At which point you will be asked to say the three times the words, "Oh my Queen, do unto me what has been ordained." The rest is a secret until then but it is beautiful what happens next. Ken had a hard time falling asleep that night. He had much to contemplate.

Kenneth paused at the corner opposite the coffee shop. He could see that Jake and one of his pals was sitting in the booth by the front window. Kenneth stood on the corner until he was sure that Jake saw him. He saw Jake get up from the booth and head for the door. His pal seemed to be heading back further into the shop and away from the door. It was then that Kenneth crossed the street. If he timed it right, he should be able to confront Jake before the others came outside. Ken was sure that they would. Bullies like to be seen when they do their dirty work to others.

Jake stood leaning against the doorway as Ken approached. Feigning an attempt to enter the coffee shop, Ken knew that Jake would block his way. Jake reached out and grabbed Ken by the arm.

"Going somewhere Sissy?" Jake asked snearingly.

"Just going in for a soda." Ken said mocking fear.

"I don't think so fairy. We don't let Sissies who wear their sister's clothes in here. Look at you. White shorts with no fly. And a pink shirt to boot. You must be nuts to think we will let you stay around here." Jake said just as his two friends came outside. Sid and Billy stood on each side of Ken while Jake continued to ridicule him.

"Thats a nice gold necklace you have there. At least it is not a girls'. Let me see it." Ken reached up in what appeared an attempt to stop Jake. Sid and Billy each grabbed one of his arms as Jake lifted the rope chain from around Ken's neck.

"Nice. I like it. I tell you what fairy, I'll keep the chain in exchange for not whipping your ass. But if you ever come around this area again, nothing will save you from getting the shit kicked out of you. Understand?" Jake said in as intimidating a voice as he could muster.

"ye..ye..yess." Ken stammered. Pretending fear.

"Good. Guys escort our little girl back across the street. We wouldn't want her to get hit by a car or somthing now would we." Jake said mockingly.

Sid and Billy grabbed hold of Ken's arms again and walked him over to the opposite corner. Releasing him, they gave him a push so that he fell onto the grass adjoining the sidewalk. They both laughed at his awkwardness and turned and walked back over to Jake who was now sporting his new gold rope necklace prominently around his neck.

The three boys laughed at the boy across the street who had just gotten on his feet and was brushing the dirt off his once clean white shorts. Jake could not resist one last insult. He threw Ken the "bird" as he turned and entered the coffee shop. Taking his seat by the window, Jake took the necklace and inspected it. It had no clasp. It seemed as though it was one solid ring without an end. Jake put the necklace over his head. It just fit. Strange he thought as he adjusted the medallion over the front of his tee shirt. 'It didn't seem to be that hard to get it off the Sissy. Must be because I am such a "stud" he mused. Jake abruptly forgot about the necklace as Sid and Billy came back inside.

"Can you believe that kid. The SOB had on his sisters clothes and even had a ribbon tying his hair back." Sid said laughingly.

"I'll bet he even wears their skirts and dresses when he has a chance." Replied Billy. "Knock it you guys. We have better things to do today than waste time on him." Lets go check out those two "beavers" from St. Mary's. " Said Jake as he pointed to the booth at the back of the shop. Two girls sat in the booth in quiet conversation.. Their crisp school uniforms and quiet demeanor gave testament to their discipline.

Jake got up and walked towards the rear of the shop. He was unaware of the slight magic performed on the necklace. It got slightly shorter and extremely hard. Jake would find it impossible to remove later. Jake turned to hurry his friends along. They were no where to be seen. Jake shrugged his shoulders. "Chickens. What the hell are they afraid of." He mumbled under his breath.

Jake continued after his goal. Two more chicks to conquer and and from St. Mary's at that. Jake was sure he would score big this time. When he reached the booth where the girls had been sitting, They were gone too. "What the hell is going on here!" he said under his breath."

Sarah sat at her terminal in her office and watched the events unfold downtown. It was quite easy to tap into the City's TRS. After all, she had bid on and received the contract for the Tactical Response System the previous year and had upgraded it recently. The city fathers had seen fit to install cameras in key locations ostensibly to monitor traffic flow and violators. Several of the local businesses had also asked to have their onsite cameras tied into the system as well for security concerns. Her computers had been installed in the City hall, Police and Fire Stations and at her central control office. The Coffee Shop had been one of the businesses that was tied into the system, and Sarah watched the events from the traffic control tower's camera and from the camera inside the coffee shop. Of course she could have used a little fairy magic to watch everything but this way was easier and did not tire her. Magic was quite taxing, even for fairies. . As it turned out, Sarah had lost her control when she saw her son get pushed to the ground and was glad she had not used all her strength. She had plenty in reserve for Sidney and Billy. However she was satisfied that Ken was fine except for a little dirt on his clothes.

She watched as Sid and Billy returned to the coffee shop. She listened intently to the conversation. It became apparent from the conversation that the two young girls that sat by themselves in a rear booth were in danger of becoming Jake's targets. She had to do something fast even though that was not the way she like to do things. Sarah concentrated. She projected a thought subtlely in both girl's minds to leave. As for Billy and Sid, they were really not bad kids, they were just followers. Jake's followers. She knew that with the right environment they would turn out quite well. Sarah made her decision. Spreading her hands wide and closing her eyes, she performed her magic. Sid and Billy disappeared from the booth.

(Object lesson: Don't get a fairy angry at you. You may not like the results.

Ask Sid and Billy. Then again.....)

Chapter 3 Bad Attitude sets the Stage

Jake was pissed off. First his two friends walked out on him and then to top it off, The two girls he was going to "hit" on also apparently left as well. Jake just had to find a way to relieve his frustration.

Jake left the coffee shop and headed towards the Mall. At least he felt that he could hang around there and maybe pick up a chick or at the least meet some of the other guys and "show off" a bit.

It was a ten minute walk and since it was a typically hot day, his irritation only got worse my the time he started to walk across the Mall parking lot. As he walked between the cars he was so engrossed in his own thoughts that he did not see the woman and her little girl walking along the roadway in front of the line of parked cars.

Jake walked out between two of the cars and straight into the little girl knocking her free from the woman's hand and down onto the asphalt. Jake stopped as he walked into the child and just stood there. An irritated look on his face. He made no attempt at an apology. Instead he swore. "Jesus, lady, can't you watch were your going?" He said.

The woman turned to her little girl who sat on the pavement crying. Her pink dress and petticoat stained with the dirt and oil from the paving. "Excuse me young man but I think it was you who was not watching where you were going." Turning to the child she picked up the little girl and brushed off the skirt of her dress. "Are you all right Michelle" She asked. "Yes Mommy, but I think my dress is ruined." The little girl replied. 'That's ok Michelle. Mommy will buy you a new one." Turning to Jake she said, "Young man, I think you own this child an apology."

Jake looked at the woman and started to laugh. "Lady your nuts. I'm not apologizing to any little kid for anything. Especially a girl. Screw you." Jake then walked away and left the woman and her child standing in the parking lot.

"He was not a nice boy at all Mommy." The little girl said. "I know Michelle. Some boys are like that. But you know, in the end he will be punished by the "Good Fairies".

"You are so right Anne-Marie. He will be. I promise" Said Sarah silently to herself. Sarah watched on her monitor the altercation in the parking lot. She was furious. 'This kid was incorrigible. He has no decency in him at all.' She thought. But what bothered her even more was that he had done it to Michelle Fortin and her mother Anne-Marie. Sarah had a special interest in those two. It was Mike Davenport nee Michelle Fortin that had been the latest recipients of her magic. (See my story, The Computer)

Sarah had made up her mind. Jake was going to get the "whole treatment" He was in need of a complete make-over before he ended up in jail or worse. Sarah knew it was for his own good. Her reasoning was confirmed by the time Jake left the Mall. He had made a complete ass of himself all afternoon. And had not been able to "score" once with any of the girls there. His reputation had preceded him. He did manage to beat up a couple of boys smaller than himself however. Sarah decided to give him the "slow" treatment instead of all at once. He needed to be taught a lesson the hard way.

Sarah shut down her office terminal and head for home. It was from there that she could work her magic and she needed her "special" computer for that task.

Ken entered the kitchen from the back door. Luanne was preparing some vegetables for the evening meal at the countertop. "Hi Ken. How did everything go with that jerk Jake?" She asked.

"Hi Sis. Just like Mom planned. I think the clothes and the hair style really set him off. But you know... It was his friends Sid and Billy that got a little physical. I'm surprised at that. They just never did anything physical to hurt me. It was always Jake that did that stuff.

They were probably trying to impress Jake. A bully's friends are like that.

Are you all right? Did they hurt you?" Luanne asked with concern.

No Sis. They just pushed me to the ground that's all. I'm sorry but I think the shorts and "T" you lent me are in for some serious cleaning." Ken replied.

"Don't worry about it. Minor expense considering what the reward will be. If I know Mom, There are three bullies in this town that are in for a big surprise." Luanne replied. "Ken just smiled. He gave Luanne a gentle kiss on the cheek." Thanks Luanne. I appreciate everyone wanting to help me out. I think I will go get cleaned up. I'll put your clothes in your hamper when I am done."

"Thanks Bro. And don't mention it. Us Brewsters have to stick together." Said Luanne as Kenneth headed out of the kitchen and up the stairs to his bedroom. Luanne sighed. She loved her brother. He was such a gentle creature. More like a girl than a boy she thought. Deep down she really wished he was a girl. She felt that she could relate to him more than her older sister. If only he would decide...... Luanne let the thought go unfinished. She was not far from the truth.

Chapter 4 Sudden Change for the Better

Sid and Billy were both having a difficult time coping with what had happened. One minute they had been preparing to try to score on a couple of those straight laced girls from St. Mary's School and the next moment they found themselves sitting on a little bench surrounded by playground equipment obviously made for little children. The shock came to them suddenly when they noticed the cute little dresses that they were each wearing. Sid in a blue checker dress and Billy in a tan dress. They both were wearing flowered straw hats. A young woman in a black dress came up behind them and said, "Come along Sylvia you to Billie. It's time for you to take your naps." She led the two cute four year old girls into the schools to take their naps with the rest of the children in the day care center. As much as they both wanted to protest and tell the woman that there was some mistake, they were unable to do so. Each looked at the other but neither could say a word. As they entered the large playroom decorated with Barney and Big Bird and a host of other children's characters they actually started to cry. It was humiliating.

"Shush now girls. You will wake up the other children. You don't want to do that do you?" Asked the woman. "No ma'am was their reply in unison." "Good. After you have your nap, you can both lead the other children in a dress-up tea-party. Would you like that? " Asked the woman. "Yes Ma'am." was Billie's reply. Inwardly he could not fathom why he had said that. He looked at Sid/Sylvia, he just shrugged his shoulders. Shortly afterwards Sid and Billy were fast asleep on the big mat with the other children. They held each others hands. The soft melody of "Mary had a Little Lamb" that was playing from the overhead speakers was sufficient to put any of the children to sleep.

The world continued...It was as if Sid and Billy had always been little girls. Everyone and everything had been altered to support this. All except for Sid and Billy, they would know what had happened to them but would not be powerless to do anything about it. They would only be able to talk about their former lives to each other, Jake and the Brewsters.

For Sid and Billy a long road of adjustment was ahead. But at least they had a chance to start over.

It could have been worse, They could have ended up as toads. Their new lives as little girls was to be filled with the experiences and lessons femininity. Maybe as young girls they might just turn out fine. After all, with most pre schoolers the mold had not yet been cast.

Jake was to be a different case altogether. His conversion to a "civilized" person was to be slow and humiliating. Submitting to his new teacher was going to be the most humiliating of all. But lessons learned well even with some "pain and much adjustment" are most assuredly worth learning. This was to be Jake's lot.

Jake had struck out at the Mall. Try as he may, he had been unable to find any of his friends. It was a strange day he thought. No one was around. Even stranger was the total absence of any girls. After an hour of walking the concourse he left the Mall and headed home.

Jake turned the corner into his street. All the way home he had been fuming. Except for the incident with Kenneth earlier he had been unable to vent his frustrations on anyone. "Well he thought, I'll at least get on the Internet and read about some Sissy getting his ass kicked." Deep in thought he did not notice the neighbor's cat come up to him until it rubbed against his jeans. Jake swore. He lashed out with his foot and kicked it. The cat howled and ran off. "That felt good." Jake thought as he let out a laugh and walked up the pathway to his door.

Chapter 5 Jake's Dilemma

Sarah closed up shop early and headed home. She had monitored Jake's activities until he had entered his home. She really got riled up when he had kicked that poor cat but she refrained from doing anything about it at that point. She was not ready to deal with Jake just yet. Although she had called home and spoken with Luanne and had been told Ken was fine and quite cheerful about the whole affair, Sarah still wanted to speak with him before going ahead with the next stage. "Gee it is hard to be a Fairy godmother." she said to herself with amusement. It was not often that she had the opportunity to exact justice against the "bad guys". But protection of ones children was one of those times it was permitted under the Fairy Rule. The way she had dealt with Sidney and Billy was a stroke of "Genius" She thought. They had not been harmed and in the end she surmised, they might just turn out fine after a few years at St. Mary's. And if they did get unmanageable again, Sister Angelica's Special Program of Petticoat Discipline them back in skirts and take any unruliness out of them.

For Jake however she had a special plan. He was to find out exactly what it was like to Be, for awhile at least, what he had accused Ken of being a sissy, or to be exact, to be accused of being one. The necklace was to be the means by which her justice would be accomplished. Jake's days of being a bully were just about over.

Jake was in a terrible mood when he entered his house. His parents, as usual were not at home and this only increased his frustration. His sister Janice was parked in front of the TV in the living room. Although the 12 year old girl gave him a cheery "Hello Jake." He only grunted a reply. He just had nothing in common with her. She was a girl and in his mind, girls were only good for one thing. His sister was off limits for that of course and that placed her "somewhere just above the family cat. Jake walked into the kitchen and after taking a Coke from the refrigerator, went straight up to his room.

Setting the coke down on the computer bench, Jake flipped on the switch to his system and while it booted up, he started to get undressed. Shorts and a cutoff Tee was a lot more comfortable in the late afternoon and a couple of hours at the computer. Jake opened his dresser drawer and took out a pair of denim shorts. He then took a sleeveless black tee shirt from his closet and laid them on his bed. He proceeded to get undressed. Down to his skivvies, he noticed the gold chain and it's medallion resting on the front of his chest. It looked different. The chain seemed a lot more delicate than he remembered when he had taken it from Ken. The medallion looked different too. He noticed the pale blue center with what appeared to be a small winged fairy in the middle.

"Son of a B...." He muttered to himself. The swear going unfinished. "I didn't notice that before. The dambed thing is a girl's necklace. I'm not wearing that." He said to himself. He hoped that no one at the Mall had noticed the necklace while it had been prominently worn on the front of his shirt. "Dambed. I'm glad none of the guys had been at the Mall. They would never have let me live it down." He said silently to himself. Jake took the chain in his hands and attempted to slip it over his head. It would not fit. "Shit. What's going on here." Jake slid the chain around it's entire length looking for the clasp. There was none. The chain was one solid weave. "Damb." Jake swore again. "I'll just cut it off." Jake rummaged through his desk drawer and found his computer repair kit. Taking a pair of wire cutters from the kit, He attempted to cut the chain. Instead of the chain severing as he expected, The wire cutter's blade broke in half.

Jake was taken aback. This was not possible he thought. He was in a quandary He could not let anyone see this necklace. It would be he who would be called a sissy instead of that fairy Ken. Jake had one more surprise. As he stood looking in the mirror contemplating how he would remove the chain, The necklace got even thinner, and shorter until it just barely fit around his neck, just shy of being a choker. The medallion change shape as well. Forming it's self into a delicate filigree heart with a definite pink gold color. The center design changed also. The background taking on a pastel blue tone and the image of the fairy became even more prominent in pink and white hues.

Jake started to sweat. This was just not possible he thought. "This is a friggin girl's necklace for sure. How the hell is this happening?" Jake just had to cover it up somehow until he could get it cut off. "Magic? No way. There is no such thing. Some sort of trick by that asshole Ken. Wait till I get my hands on him. He's gonna pay for this." Jake reasoned with himself.

Jake put the tee shirt back in the closet and took out a turtle neck pullover. "At least I can cover it up with this so no one will see the dambed thing. Jake said to himself. Dressed and the necklace out of sight, Jake calmed down somewhat and soon forgot about his predicament. Sitting at his computer he logged on to his favorite chat site.

He was in for another surprise. One that was about to change his life.

Meanwhile--------

Chapter 6 Aftermath

Ken got undressed and after putting Luanne's cloths in her hamper he headed for the shower. Fifteen minutes later and wearing some clean clothes he felt a lot better. He had enjoyed playing the girl role in order to carry out the plan that he and his mom decided on for Jake's benefit. That was what was troubling him. He enjoyed it more than he should have. Maybe he was a sissy after all. He though. "No, that's not it. There is something else." he reasoned with himself. Maybe the change was happening all by it's self. He thought. Ken stood in front of his dresser mirror aqnd looked long and hard at his reflection. He looked at his delicate features, the longish hair, even his eyebrows seemed a little on the thin side for a boy. Slowly Ken let his imagination run free. Slowly he say emerge in the mirror an image of a young teenage girl. Her hair was meticulously coifed, cascading down onto her shoulders in gentle curls onto a pretty white summer dress. Her lips adorned with a shade of pink lipstick that just perfectly matched her complexion. She wore light beige hose that complemented the dress and her shoes were white pumps with low heels. Around her neck was a beautiful rose gold chain and pendant. The heart shaped pendant adorned with a winged fairy. She was beautiful.

Ken stood there for several minutes mesmerized at the image. The image faded abruptly as he heard the front door open and the cheery "Hello." From his mother. Ken turned and left the room to greet his mother. He was troubled by what he had just seen and how he felt. Considering what his mother had told him earlier, Had he seen himself as he would be if he said the magic words? He had liked what he had seen yet he was confused about his feelings. He knew that he would have to have another talk with his mother..

By the time Ken reached the bottom of the staircase, Sarah had gone into the kitchen. She had put her laptop computer on the counter top and was engaged in conversation with Luanne. Both stopped talking when ken walked in.

"Hi Mom." Ken said in greeting. "Can I speak with you? It is important."

" Hi Sweetie. Is it about what happened today?" Sarah asked.

Luanne diplomatically eased herself out of the room. She was an astute young woman and knew when private times were in order. Inwardly she smiled. Unbeknownst to Ken, The three older women of the family were quite aware of what this conversation was going to be about and to say the least, they were elated.

It was inevitable. No descendant of a fairy godmother could reject their destiny. Male or female, it made no difference. One had to perform their apprenticeship. The option to refuse was always there. But no one had ever done so.

Sarah was extremely happy. Ken had made his decision and had set the time. At midnight there would be a new daughter in her family. At least for the next year. Sarah felt so good at this development that she decided to go easy on Jake. She would turn his re-indoctrination over to Ken. As an apprentice he would not be so inclined as to be over harsh. She would however make the first direct contract with him by her special computer.

Jake had a plan. He would visit one of those Sissy sites and find out what it was that real sissies like to do. He would then use that information to get even with Brewster. Maybe force him to dress as a little girl and then make him parade around the school. Maybe even get him a fairy boyfriend. All Jake needed to know was where to get the dress , wig and other materials anonymously. Then he would make Ken the laughing stock of the school and that would be just what Jake wanted. That was not quite how it would turn out however. Jake brought up his browser and did an exact phrase search for "Sissies and their accessories"

A few seconds later a pink screen appeared outlined with flowers. A midi file started to play "Elise".

"Ah" Jake uttered. "A hit first try. This ought to be good."

The midi file came to an end and with it the screen changed changed slightly. It had the same background and border but in the middle of the screen was a welcome message.

"Great". thought Jake. "I can get everything here and have it shipped to my Pac-Mail box.

Jake spent over an hour selecting the very prettiest and most little girlish items that he could find. He was sure that a few minutes alone with Brewster in the school locker room with a couple of his buddies and these items, would be all he needed to change that fairy into a real live sissy. He would make him walk, wearing the outfit all the way home, the long way through downtown. "That will teach that faggot a lesson.: Jake thought with a smirk on his face. Jake finished his selection and clicked on the checkout button. After entering his credit card number and the Pac-Mail address, He signed out of the website.

Thank you for your order Jake. Please come again. We try to make all little girls like yourself beautiful. Fairy Godmother; SFGB

"Ya right. I don't think so. But I know one who will be very "pretty" soon."

Jake said to the screen as he read the sign off message.

Jake shut off the computer and headed down to the kitchen. He was famished. It had been one hell of a day. He thought. He was pleased with himself. His plans for Ken would bring him much pleasure. "Now if I can only find out where those two idiots went....." He said to himself.

Sarah signed off with Jake. "Good he is digging his own 'grave'." Sarah sat back in her chair and closed her eyes. She smiledto herself. She was quite pleased with the way everything was progressing. She lapsed into thought. "With a little guidance, Kendra can take over from here." After all, Since Ken had decided to follow the family tradition and spend a year as a girl it was only right that he should get some experience as a guardian apprentice by doing the followup with Jake. Of course he would not have any magic power but she could do that for him. It would be good training for him and might just influence him in accepting his inheritance at the end of his year. Sarah came out of her daydream. She looked at the clock "6:00 pm. I better get a move on. There is a lot to do before the ceremony for Ken's transition at midnight."

Helen Morris arrived at the daycare center at 5 PM to pick up her two daughters. They were in for a treat. She had made an appointment at the Salon de Femme to have both Billie and Sylvia get their hair styled and get their first manicure. Salon de Femme was noted for their excellent service with children and Helen was sure that the girls would appreciate the experience not to mention the fact that Helen was getting tired of the long process of doing the girls hair herself. She had thought of cutting the children's hair to make it more manageable but she just could . not bring herself to cutting their lovely long hair. This was a much better alternative. Sylvia and Billie had just finished hosting the make believe Tea Party when the teacher announce that their mother was there to pick them up. The teacher told both of the girls to go to the lavatory and take care of any needs before they left the school. Billie and Sylvia went into the bathroom together. There was no one else there. It was the first time that they had been alone all afternoon. Billie turned to Sylvia and she found that she had the ability to talk freely.

"Sid what happened to us. Look at us, we're friggin little girls. This has got to be a dream or something." Billy asked.

"How the hell do I know. All I know is that one minute we were in the Coffee shop with Jake and the next second we were here all decked out in dresses. And now we look like little girls to boot."

But Sid. The lady out there said that Mom was here to pick us up. How can that be. Mom couldn't possible know anything about this. Sid was getting angry. He was frustrated since he had no answers to Billy's questions and angry because he found himself in exactly the position that he had accused Ken of being. A Sissy. Although right now he was not sure if the term applied. Sid reached under his dress and put his hand where he thought he would find at least a little boy's thing. Sid pulled his hand out quick. " Shit he replied" "What's wrong?" asked Billie." "Look for yourself. There gone. Dambed. I hope you like sitting down to pee. Dambed. We are girls." Billie's face turned white. "Then this is for real........" The sentence going unfinished as Helen and the teacher came into the girl's lavatory.

"Girl's have you finished in here yet or are you just playing?" Helen asked.

"No. Sorry Mother. We were just talking about how much fun we had playing Tea Party. Replied Billie unable to understand why he had said that.

"Ok sweetpea that's nice but we have a lot to do this evening so I want both to do your toilet and then we are off to the Mall. I have surprise for both of you." Helen answered.

Billie and Sylvia had their first experience sitting down to do what they had always stood to do. It was overwhelmingly humiliating to them both.

Ten minutes later they were humiliated again and they were strapped into child safety seats in the back of the family car. A car that up until that morning they had both been licensed to drive. They both were acutely aware that their mother did in fact think of them as little girls. As if it was the most natural thing for Sid and Billy to be girls.

They were starting over and many more experiences awaited Sid and Billy. Before long, Billie and Sylvia would be quite familiar with all those things that all proper little girls knew about. Before long, pretty dresses and petticoats, ribbons and lace would be things that both would be able to converse about fluently and quite knowledgeably. Lessons were to be learned and hopefully for the better.

Sarah felt elated. Her decision to transform Sid and Billy had not been spontaneous. She was well aware of the grief that the boys had given their mother of the past few years. Sarah had known of Helen's wish that the boys had been born girls. Helen had often prayed that Sid and Billy would turn themselves around but without a father she knew that eventually they would end up in a lot of trouble. Sarah had been powerless to help her. For it was against the rules to grant a wish of such nature unless the individuals effected made the wish. The boys themselves had opened the door for Sarah to help Helen and at the same time help the boys. Their overt action against Ken had allowed her to take action against Sid and Billy and at the same time not harm them either. Helen's memory had been altered. She would never remember her days With her boys and their burden on her. Her daughters would be a godsend to her. They had always been. Would always be. That was her memory and Sylvia and Billie had been, would be, restricted from ever changing that.

Chapter 7 Kendra Emerges

Jake would sleep quite comfortably that evening. Except for the necklace that he just could not remove being a slight frustration. It would be his last night undisturbed. Events that were to follow. would cause him a lot of sleepless nights.

Sarah forgot about Jake for the time being. She had to get ready for the midnight ceremony. In this case one of dual purpose. the actual ritual to change Ken into Kendra and the other to make Her new daughter an apprentice guardian. Sarah sat on the floor and crossing her legs and putting her hands on her chest she forced herself into a trance. She projected her thoughts to the Grand Council and the Queen.

Sarah got her reply and was promised that the Queen and her escort would be at the appropriate place at midnight. Thought projection was an art among the fairy world. Sarah conversed with her queen for a brief moment but it was sufficient. Time was non-existent to those of the world of spirits.

Returning to her present temporal world. Sarah went to retrieve those items that Luanne had used for her ceremony of acceptance. Sarah had stored them lovingly in her closets. She had known that they would be needed again.

For Ken it had been a strange day. He had agreed with his mother on how to get Jake pissed off at him knowing full well that he would be responsible for Jake resorting to violence and thus give his mother an excuse to punish him. Ken felt that Jake really needed to be given a taste of his own medicine. If only to stop him form doing something to someone else who could not 'protect' themselves. Ken decided that his mother's plan was best. He would follow her advise. He just felt sorry for Jake. He had no idea of what he was up against. For the present however Ken had his mind on the midnight ceremony. He was getting a little apprehensive. His mother told him that she could not speak to him until after the midnight. ceremony. It would be up to Brenda and Luanne to be his sponsers.

Ken sat in his room looking out over the desert sky in the distance and the pastel hues that signaled the approach of evening. He watched the dancing pinpoints of light moving in the shadows of the darkening tree trunks. To most people thelights would be nothing more than fireflies seeking their mates. But Ken knew better. The tiny fairies were already preparing for a new apprentice. At least that was how Ken interpreted what he saw. Fairies and elves, tadstools for tables and dragonflies for transport. The wisps of the spiders webs making intricate decorations. The stuff that fairytales are made of.......

The gentle knock on the door brought Ken out of his reverie. "Ken can we come in?" It was Brenda and Luanne.

Ken sighed. It was time to get prepared. He was both excited and apprehensive. His life was about to turn in a new direction. He hoped that he was making the right decision. "Sure, come on in" He replied to his sister's inquiry. Brenda and Luanne came in to his room. Both were carrying Several bundles and clothes bags which they deposited on Ken's bed.

"Ken it is time to get you ready. Mom instructed me to ask you one last time if you still wanted to do go through the ceremony? Brenda asked quite seriously. Luanne, standing behind Brenda just smiled. She had her fingers crossed behind her back so that Ken could not see.

Ken looked at his older sister for a long moment. Now was the time to make his final commitment. He had until this point weighed the options. As much as he liked being a young man and the benefits of his gender, he still liked the gentler side of his nature. His chance to experience that side of humanity exhibited in femininity and its added benefit of his mother's inheritance intrigued him. He just could not let the opportunity slip by. He had to find out if his maleness was an accident. He had to know if he was or should have been a girl destined by tradition to be a true fairy in his/her own right.

"Yes Brenda, lets get on with must be done." He said solemnly.

"Thank you." Luanne said softly to herself.

Both girls rushed forward and embraced Ken. They held him for close and all three siblings shed not too few tears of happiness

Finally breaking the intimate moment, Brenda said, "Lets get on with it then. You need to shower again Bro. Use this instead of your shower gel." She handed him a plastic bottle. The fluid inside shimmered with an iridescent pink hue. "Mother's special formula." Luanne said laughingly. "Actually it is made from pixie dust and essence of roses. it will prepare your skin for the changes that you will undergo." Brenda said seriously. "It must also be used in place of your shampoo."

"I think we had better get started Ken. We have a lot to do to prepare you for your initiation. Leave all your clothes in the hamper when your done. We have all your new or should I say all my old clothes out here." And don't forget to shave, close and everywhere except your head of course. Luanne said with mock sternness.

Ken laughed meekly. He kissed both his sisters. "Thanks girls." He said and went into the bathroom.

It took nearly three hours to prepare "Kendra" for "her" appearance and get themselves ready as well. It was close to 10 PM when all was ready for their departure for the "Sacred Place of Initiation."

It was amazing. Sure Ken had some of his mothers features and he was slight of build but the makeover had been perfect. Ken stood before his sisters for a final inspection. "So what do you guys think? Will I pass." He asked with some trepidation. Brenda looked her brother over critically. Primping here, tugging there. Finally announcing, "Your gorgeous Ken. You look like a princess.

"I'll say." Said Luanne with a huge smile. "I don't see how the physical transformation is going to add much to your appearance. You already look like a beautiful fairy princess."

Ken looked at himself in the full length mirror for the first time. His two sisters stood behind him in their beautiful pink gowns and garlands of white daisies in their golden hair making a perfect backdrop to his own image. Ken sucked in his breath in surprise at his own reflection. His surprise was total.

All vestiges of his former self were gone. Kendra stood there in her full glory. She wore a tea length apricot gown of shimmering light weight satin on her shoulders was a pastel blue shawl of the same material. Her legs covered with white pantyhose and on her feet low heel pumps to match her gown. Her hands covered with white lace gloves and she carried a small bouquet of miniature red and white carnations. Her hair brushed back into a long ponytail and held in place with a crown of white daisies.

"It is strange Kendra replied. I know I should be feeling embarrassed standing here looking like this being a boy and all. But I don't. I am actually happy. Is this wrong? Ken the boy asked.

"No my new sister. It is not. This is really you. How you should always have been and now will be for the next year at least." Brenda replied . Reaching out and giving him a sisterly hug. "Now enough of this girl, it is time to leave." "Thanks girls. I really am glad you were both here to help me with this." Said Ken with sincerity. Luanne reached out and took her new 'sister' by the hand. "Lets go." She said gently. Luanne felt closer to Ken now than ever. "This was going to be a great year." She thought to herself Brenda took Kendra's other hand and then Luanne's completing the circle as the three of them just seemed to slowly vanish from the bedroom.

No one can say where the ceremony took place. For in the realm of fairies the here and now or this place or that is just an enigma. For mortals, it does not exist. But for Sarah and her children, inheritors of and descendants of these spiritual beings, admission to the Sacred Place was permitted to the witnesses as well as those about to be initiated as apprentices. Although only two witnesses and the Queen Fairy were required to perform an initiation, Sarah was well respected by her peers and out of respect the grotto was filled to overflowing with Fairy Godmothers from all over the temporal world. And pixies, those flighty little enigmas the flittered about the forest with their tiny human forms and wispy wings were everywhere. The little glows of light combining together like myriads of candles to light up the entire grotto .

The grotto was surrounded by a ring of tall pine that seemed to reach forever into the sky. The Moon in full glory stood exactly overhead adding its light to that of the pixies. In the center of the grotto was a round flat slab of stone about 12 feet in diameter. The slab was surrounded by 14 brass candle sticks each 4 feet high which stood each evenly spaced from each other. To the North of the slab about the space of 14 paces was a large white throne with appeared to be made of alabaster. Three smaller thrones of intricately carved mahogany were positioned one on each side of the white throne and one directly in front. The Queen sat upon the white throne and her appointed witnesses on either side. Sarah occupied the throne directly in front of the queen. Around the outside of the stone slab the space of 7 paces stood those who had elected to attend by their right. They stood shoulder to shoulder around the entire circumference.

The fairy godmothers in all their regalia. Long white dresses of linen. Overlaid in what appeared to be sheer lace. Their angelic wings resplendent in white and blue feathers. Each pair of wings touching the next creating an illusion of one massive wall encasing the circle. Garlands of flowers of all shades and colors girded their waists. It was into the center of this circle that Kendra and her sisters appeared.

Upon materializing within the circle, Brenda and Luanne each turned to Kendra and in turn placed their finger tips on Kendra's temples then kissed her on the forehead. This completed, Brenda and Luanne each stepped off of the stone slab and walked over and stood next to Sarah. Ken smiled at his mother and for the first time in his life actually saw her with her wings. Even Brenda and Luanne had them as well although not as large and they were pink and blue. No hint of white at all. Ken wondered about this. For that matter he was awed by everything he was witnessing. The Queen stood up from her throne and all went quite. Even the pixies stopped their movement. The creatures of the forest stopped all sound as the Queen raised her arms.

Ken as he had been instructed earlier by Brenda, Sat in the exact center of the stone circle. He noticed that even though made of stone, it gave off a conforting warmth. He crossed his legs under the skirts of his gown and placed his hands in his lap. He looked directly at the queen.

The Queen started to speak. Her words in a language that Ken could not understand. The words more like a melody than words themselves. As on queue, The pixies, whom had increased in numbers uncountable, slowly swarmed upward. There immense numbers covering the face of the moon. Their glow shimmering in all the colors of the rainbow until only their light shown downward in a shaft of light that surrounded Ken.

Slowly the Queen after finishing her incantation walked from her throne and stood directly in front of Ken. She stood and looked at the candidate for more than a minute before speaking.

"Child, It is not often that we have such as you here before us. You are unique to our family. If it were not for my love for your mother and your birthright, I would cast you out as a I would an evil spirit. But you come well spoken for and my observations of your nature does you well. So I will allow you to become one of us for awhile. I will approve you candidacy if you are willing to accept all that goes with it. I will ask you several questions and you must answer truthfully. I will now if you do not. Do you agree to these conditions my child?

"Yes" Replied Ken.

Do you wish to accept your birthright given to you by your Mother?"

"Yes." "Have the conditions of acceptance been explained to you?" "Yes." And do you accept the conditions that must accompany this birthright" "Yes."

Will you submit yourself to all the rules that have been set down since the beginning of time for all of our nature?" "Yes." "I believe you my child. Your heart speaks truthfully."

The Queen took each of Ken's hands in hers. "And now my child, say the the words. That you have been instructed" Ken looked at the Queen and lowered his eyes. Slowly he repeated the incantation; "Oh my Queen, do unto me what has been ordained." As Ken said the finished the third repetition he felt an immense sense of well being as his body took on it's new form. The Queen turned and looked at Sarah. "Do you my daughter promise to guide this child and teach her in all those things that she will need to know to be a true apprentice?"

Sarah stood up from her throne and kneeled down in front of the Queen. Her wings folded forward and touched the ground. "I do my Queen. I so promise." Said Sarah.

"Then let it be done." The queen said solemnly. She placed the index finger of each of her hands on each of Ken's temples. The glow from the pixies overhead increase and focused downward so that only the queen and Ken could be seen. All other light seemed to disappear.

A spiral of blue light emanated from Ken. Not from any one place on his body but more like it came from his whole being. It spiraled upward and disappeared into the glow from the pixies.

"Your manhood has left you my daughter but it is not lost. It will be kept in trust by the pixies until you return here on the evening of the twelfth full moon hence. Should you decide at that time to reclaim it you may. But to do so will require you to give up your fairy birthright forever. Should you at that time claim fullness to your birthright at that time, Your manhood will be given to another unborn human child and you will be one of us forever. Do you understand and agree to these conditions?" Said the Queen with much gentleness in her voice.

"Yes." Was the girl's reply.

"Then go. Take this candle (which had magically appeared in the queens hand) and light each of the 14 candlesticks. One for each year of your age and the magic number of the fairies. This will give you time to make a final commitment. You may if you wish stop but if you do then you will return home and will not remember any of this. You will forfeit your birthright forever.

Kendra took the lighted taper and slowly lit each candlestick. Soon she stood in front of the forteenth. There was a great hush over the grotto. Even the pixies stood still. There glow slightly dimmished. Kendra sighed. Not from frustration but more from relief. She had now reached a moment of truth about herself. She lit the final candle.

There was a great shout from all the onlookers. One of happiness and joy. Their numbers had increased by one. Kendra did not notice at first the small pink wings that now adorned her back.

The Queen raised her hand and the tumult subsided. She beckoned Sarah forward. The turned to Kendra. "Welcome to our family my child. I grant you one magical power. That you may at any time, appear to any mortal in any form you see fit. But only in appearance. Your new fairy nature will remain with you at all times. Use this power wisely and for good only. The Queen handed Kendra a golden mirror. The handle carved in the likeness of an angel. "This my child is given to all apprentices. Your sisters each have one of their own and they will instruct you in its use. With it you may observe the activities of that mortal that you choose to guard. With it you will be able to protect that person from harm before it happens. My child, be ever wise, honest and just with the mortal you choose to be the guardian over. It is an awesome responsibility You will be judged accordingly."

The Queen took Kendra's hand in hers and led her over to Sarah who stood just inside the circle. She then placed Kendra's hand in Sarah's

"Sarah, your new daughter." Said the queen. Sarah and Kendra embraced for a long time.

Brenda and especially Luanne were shedding tears of joy. as would Mary and Margaret when they beheld their new sister.

Chapter 8 New beginnings:

Time altered again. Not to the extent that mortals would recognize. Kendra was like Sylvia and Billie a person who had always been No one would ever know a Ken. Not even Jake. Paradoxes just did not occur when the Fairies worked their magic. Even Sylvia and Billie had this memory erased. Only Kendra and her family and her "sister" fairies would know the truth and they would not tell.

Sarah and her daughters materialized at home. It was 1 minute past midnight. Time had stood still. Kendra put her hand to her mouth in a sign of amazement when she looked at the clock on the wall. She had a lot to learn about Fairy Power.

"Luanne, would you please check on Mary and Margaret. I need to talk to Kendra for awhile." Sarah asked.

"Yes Mother. I will wait for my new sister upstairs. Luanne replied and then said "I'll wait up and help you get ready for bed Sis." "Thanks Luanne. I'll be up shortly." Kendra answered.

Turning to Kendra, Sarah took Kendra's hands and said, "Thank you Dear. You made me very happy tonight. Will you be happy too with what you have decided?" "I hope so Mother. This is going to be so strange. I hope I can do it.

"Kendra. Let me tell you something. I made a promise to your father to give him a son. I did that and you made him very happy while he was still with us. Had he lived longer I would have been content to never tell you about your birthright and you would never had known about it. But your father was a mortal and no matter what I wanted I was not allowed to use my magic to keep him alive. When his heart gave out and he passed on, I was relieved of my promise to him and was reminded that I had an obligation to allow you to make a choise. Tonight you made that choice and now you have made me very happy. The circle is completed. Our family is now as it should be. You are a beautiful girl Kendra. When I saw you appear in the circle tonight with your sisters my heart jumped with joy. Thank you.

Kendra rushed into her mother's arms as she finished. They embraced again for the second time that night. "I love you Mother." Was all that the young girl could say. Tears flowed freely between the two. There was around them both a halo of light. A Halo generated by pure love.

Jake awoke the next morning. It being a Saturday he had as usual slept in until nearly noon. Stretching his arms over his head and yawning he slowly became aware of his surroundings. He felt the constriction around his neck almost immediately. He reached up to relieve the tightness and then snapped into full consciousness. Jumping from the bed and swearing under his breath he went into the bathroom to examine himself. What he saw caused him no undo amount of consternation.

The necklace chain that he could not remove earlier the day before had gotten smaller. It was definitely tight against his throat. The medallion with its prominent angelic design was resting firmly against his Adam's apple in plain view. "Shit, shit, shit." He swore. The first thought he had was to find something to cut it off with. There had to be something strong enough to do the job. Jake almost fainted but his stomach did churn over when he notice something else. He was sporting a pair of pretty pierced earrings in an exact match to the design on the necklace.

Jake reached behind his ear to remove them. His surprise was immense when he found that the backing was one piece with the stud. They could not be remove. Jake went back into his bedroom and sat on the bed. For the first time he was at a loss as to what to do. He knew that he could not let anyone see him this way. Especially his ratty sister. He would never be able to live it down. Jake for the first time found his macho demeanor challenged. Jake actually started to cry. He did not realize that even at this he was sobbing like a little girl. His transition had started albeit, slowly.

It was going to be a beautiful morning. Kendra awoke and savored the sounds. Her window was open slightly and she lay listening to the chirping of the birds outside her window. The warmth of the morning sun streaming in the window and laying gently on her face was tranquilizing. She recounted the events of the previous night with wonder. Had she really gone through with it. Had she actually become a girl and fairy apprentice? She recalled the events of the previous day and her confrontation with Jake and his buddies. Kendra felt a little sad for the three boys. Their fate was similar to hers but unlike herself it was not requested or wanted. Maybe, She thought "I should ask mother to go easy on them."

Kendra opened her eyes and surveyed her room. Her mother had worked a little magic and had changed her room to one befitting a young teenage girl. The pastel blue and white decor matched perfectly the white laced curtains on the windows with their pink ribbon tiebacks. Her canopy bed of white lace and pink satin a perfect match to deep pile carpeting of the same color. She noticed the mirrored vanity against one wall had been set up meticulously with an array of cosmetics and other wonders to behold. The hand mirror that had been given to her at the ceremony was prominently arraigned on her dresser. It sat on a intricately carve stand of teakwood.

Kendra could not stay in the bed any longer She had too much to investigate this first morning as a new girl. Besides nature was calling and that had priority. It was during this routine that she discovered her new anatomy looked and worked a lot differently. She was soon to learn a lot of new things. And unlike Jake, she would savor every minute.

As for Sid and Billly, Their day started much as it ended. Pretty as a picture in cute little dresses. Their hair had been set in loose braids to protect their new hair style. Helen had promised to take them to the mall for new party dresses. They had been invited to a birthday party for one of the children at the daycare center. Helen was not one to be to allow her girls not to look their very best. Helen sat at the kitchen table enjoying her morning cup of coffee. She watched her twin daughters sitting on the living room carpet watching Barney and his Friends. They looked so cute in their matching pink dresses. Barbie dolls all around them. Helen sighed with happiness. "God." she thought. "What if they had been boys------"

Sylvia and Billie had no recollection of Ken or Jake. Sarah had relented a little. She knew what their new future held for them and it was very promising. She would let the young girls develop without embarrassment. Doing that Would serve no purpose at all and might just spoil their chances. Sid and Billie had actually been given a wonderful gift. They just did not know it. As it probably should be.

So we leave the twins; Sylvia and Billie. The perfect little girls. 'Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice' all wrapped up in two little packages. They had bright futures ahead and no more bad influences. Sarah had done well with these two. She knew it was what Kendra would want.

Chapter 9 A Makeover-Kendra Emerges

Jake had taken to wearing an old aviators leather helmet. Its long ear flaps Effectively covering the earrings that he had been unsuccessful in removing. No one paid much attention to this as it fit in with his anti-societal personality. The black turtleneck sweater doing the same for the necklace. For the first week or so that had worked out fine. Nothing else had happened all week. Jake should have put two and two together. Had it not been for his next stupid stunt he might have been home free. Such was Kendra's forgiving nature. But with all bullies and bigots, the basic nature gets the best of them.

With Kendra it was different. Everything she saw, touch and smelled was like heaven. She took pleasure out of everything around her. Each new experience brought excitement and discovery about herself. The new clothes were the most fun. Kendra tried on everything that Sarah had put in her room, and to say the least, it was a lot. Dresses and skirts, Blouses and sweaters in ever conceivable color was there. The dresser was overflowing with intimates as well. It was a fabulous first day, even Chio, the family cat who would never go near her as Ken, took to sleeping at that first night on her bed. For two days, Kendra did not think of Jake at all. Brenda and especially Luanne had kept her quite busy. They had spent a good deal of time introducing her into the mysterious world of femininity. Saturday had been spent from almost the time she got up until bedtime learning how to make herself pretty. Instructions in bathing and hair care to makeup and nail polish. Luanne especially explained the intricacies of color coordination and how to arrange hairstyles and makeup with wardrobe. To Brenda fell the duty of teaching Kendra the basics of how to speak and act like a girl. Most of Sunday had been taken up with this activity. It was Sunday evening when Sarah took Kendra aside and asked her to join her in the study.

Sarah sat at her desk as Kendra entered the study. Sarah marveled at The drastic changes that had occurred in her persona in the past two days. It was like she had always been a girl. No semblance of Ken remained other that his love of everything that was around him. But add in the femininity that he had developed in such a short time and the result was a beautiful angel. Sarah was exceedingly happy with the results. But was Kendra? She wondered.

Kendra had selected one particular dress that morning. It was one that she had seen in the closet the day before while examining her new wardrobe. The dress was of pale green organza with a full knee length skirt. The short sleeves and peter pan collar trimmed with white delicate lace. She had fallen in love with that dress as soon as she had seen it and decided to wear it along with a white knit sweater to Sunday Mass. She was still wearing the dress when she walked in to her mother's study.

Sarah's doubts evaporated when she saw her new daughter. There was only Kendra who came through the doorway. Ken was gone.

"Kendra dear, I had started to get concerned that you may have some problems with your transition but from what I see, looking at you now my worries seem to be groundless. Really dear, how are you doing with all this change? You seem to be handling it well."

"I'm really not sure Mother. It has been fun for the last couple of days and I like the clothes and all the attention I have been getting from you and my sisters, but I am not sure how it will go tomorrow in school and when Jake sees me.

"Are you having second thoughts them dear."

"Oh, no Mother. I think this is how I always should have been. I need to keep my promise to the Fairy Queen and you to at least serve my year and then decide. It's just that I am not sure that I know how to handle Jake and my friends at school when they find out that I am now a girl. Kendra, who had been standing in front of Sarah's desk sat down in the chair beside the desk.

Sarah did not overlook how the girl almost naturally took the seat like any normal girl. Smoothing the back of her dress with her hands as she sat and sat straight in the chair with her legs together, Again Sarah affirmed in her own mind the obvious feminine manners that her former son seemed to be acquiring quite rapidly and naturally. Sarah became determined to help this process along in any way she could,

"Kendra dear, don't worry your pretty head about that at all. Remember I am a Fairy Godmother and you are now an apprentice and as such we we have certain powers to alter time and peoples memories and even physical appearance. I have not bothered you about Jake and his friends since you decided to take on the obligation of an apprentice. I did not want you to be distracted from what you needed to do. So, I took some actions myself. Sarah explained to Kendra everything that had happened to Sid and Billy and what was happening to Jake. She explained why see did what she did and why. "Sarah finished her explanation...."So you see dear, everything will be all right. No one will know you as ever being anyone other that what you appear to be now. As for Jake, he is now your responsibility. You are to be his guardian. His previous guardian did not do a very good job."

Kendra sat motionless for a few moments smiling broadly at her mother. She then spontaneously arose from her chair and ran around the side of the desk and threw her arms around Sarah's neck. Hugging her close Kendra whispered in her ear, "Your wonderful mother. I hope I can be as good as you are." The Mother and daughter embraced for a long time. Pink and white wings appeared, folded forward and touched tips.

It was several minutes later, when mother and daughter finally broke the intimate bonding. The anomaly that had been Ken had been corrected. The Fairy Queen watched this encounter and smiled. She knew that Kendra would always be with them it was just a matter of time.

"Now shoo dear. Go tell your sisters to get dressed. We are going out to a nice restaurant for supper. It is time for us to cerebrate your initiation. When we get back I'll show you how to use that magic mirror. Oh and fix your makeup. Your mascara is running. They both laughed and Kendra blew her mother a kiss . "I love you Mother". Kendra said as she turned and left the room before Sarah could reply. Kendra did not realize that that was the most important thing that she could have ever to Sarah at that moment. The bonding had been completed .

Sarah showed Kendra how to use the mirror on returning home. It was just a matter of holding it in both hands and concentrating on her ward. Alone in her room, Kendra was able to bring Jake into view on the second attempt. She was surprised nonetheless when he appeared. He was just sitting in his room using his computer. Kendra smiled as she watched him fidget with the earring in his ear. He appeared quite uncomfortable. Maybe he has learned his lesson she thought to herself. She put the mirror down and the image faded Kendra sat on the edge of her bed feeling relieved. She trusted her mother at her word that she would be accepted for what she now was. She undressed and put on one of her new nighties. She marveled at how she now looked and felt. In her subconscious mind she knew that she would remain as Kendra. Her thoughts returned to Jake as she awaited sleep. She felt a compassion for him. He was, she thought a product of his environment. She would give him another chance at rehabilitation although she did not hold out much hope. However she would ask her mother to remove the necklace and earrings in the morning. Humiliation of Jake as a punishment was not the way to start her guardianship.

Sleep came. Kendra dreamed of the Fairy Queen. Her words recounted in her head. "My child, be ever wise, honest and just with the mortal you choose to be the guardian over. It is an awesome responsibility You will be judged accordingly.

For the world, time and memories shifted again ever so slightly.

Chapter 10 Jake's Warning

Kendra arose early on Monday morning. Even though she knew that everyone would take her for what she appeared to be, in her own mind she wanted to make a good first impression. She showered and did her makeup like a pro. It had come easy to her once Luanne had shown her the basics. She selected a lovely yellow and white cotton dress. White pantyhose and yellow low heel pumps. She arraigned her hair in twin ponytails just behind each ear fastening them in place with yellow and white hair-rings. The daisy designs matching perfectly the dress she had selected. Dressed and with a fresh coat of pink nail polish and matching lip gloss, she went down stairs to talk to Sarah before she left for work.

Brenda and Sarah sat at the kitchen table having a light breakfast as Kendra walked in.Brenda let out a low sexy whistle as she saw Kendra enter. Kendra blushed slightly.

"Brenda. your embarrassing her." Sarah scolded the older girl.

"I'm sorry mother. I didn't mean to. Kendra you look lovely. Did you do all that yourself?" asked Brenda using a hand gesture to indicate Kendra's overall appearance.

"Yes." Replied the younger girl. "Luanne has been a big help this weekend."

"I'll say. For an ex-boy you sure took to this girl stuff like a pro."

Kendra blushed again. Sarah noticing the girl's predicament quickly changed the subject. "Dear, how about some breakfast?" "Thanks Mother. Just toast and some juice." "Gotta watch that figure now Sis." Said Luanne who had just walked in to the kitchen. A chorus of giggles followed as Mary and Margaret walked in behind Luanne. For a brief minute, Mother and 5 daughters laugh at the banter. Sarah brought it all to a halt as she set breakfast on the table for her brood. Everyone settled into their respective places and Sarah, after saying the customary prayer of grace, bid all the girls to eat. The conversation centered on small talk and how it was going to be nice to have Kendra with them now. Mary and Margaret seemed to occupy most of conversation on how they wanted Kendra to spend time and play with them. Sarah allowed this to continue for a short while but sensing that Kendra wanted to talk about something else, finally told the younger girls to quiet down.

"Kendra, I sense something is on your mind and I think I know what it is."

Sarah said.

Kendra then told her mother what she wanted to do about Jake and why. Sarah listened intently and the other girls said nothing.

"Dear that is laudable. I think you are being fair and just as the Queen instructed. But, I will tell you this, Jake may disappoint you. If he does, don't think it is any failure on your part. It is hard to change bad habits without a good lesson being taught. But I will allow you to do this but you must give him a little sign as to what will happen if he slips up. How you do this is up to you but I would suggest Email. Jake does like his computer.

"Thank you Mother. I'll do that before I leave for school." Sarah smiled at her daughter and them placed her index fingers on her temples. The three older girls for just a few seconds saw their mothers wings appear and unfold as she did her magic. Mary and Margaret who had not yet reached the age of initiation, was not privy to this image. To them, they saw what appeared to be a minute of deep concentration by their mother. They only knew that at such moments it was best to keep quiet.

Several minutes later was when Jake woke up. Breakfast out of the way, Kendra headed for the computer. She would send Jake his Email and tag it for a return receipt when read. His opportunity to change his ways would commence at that time. It was the fair thing to do Kendra reasoned.

Sarah had provided her with Jake's Email address. Kendra was amazed at how she seemed to know so much about people. Kendra only hoped that she would be as good a Fairy Godmother when her time came.

Kendra logged on and started to type:

To: BestJake1@greenwood.com

From: GuardianAngel3@fairynet.net

Subj: Necklace and You.

Dear Jake, You don't know me but I am well aware of you. Your reputation as a bully and jock precedes you. I want to give you some advise. I am your Guardian Fairy. You may not believe that but I can prove it to you. You have had an experience the last couple of days where you have been forced to wear a girl's necklace and earrings. You found it impossible to remove them but today they were gone. You were given these lovely items to wear to teach you a lesson. Do not judge and condemn others because they are different than yourself. You might just have to share their fate.

I will be watching you. You have two chances to start treating others with respect and kindness. If you fail to heed this warning, you will find that starting with the third offense, you will be taught some lessons which you may not like.

As a hint I leave you with this common poem (slightly modified)

Roses are red and Violets are blue, Little girls are sweet And so too may be you.

Your guardian fairy, KB Kendra was satisfied with the message and logged off. "Fair warning Jake." She said to herself. Sarah came into the room and read the printed copy.

"Very good dear. That should wake him up. At least it is fair warning. Now off with you. Your first day at school as a girl should be interesting for you and you don't want to miss it." Kendra got up from the computer and kissed her mother's cheek. "Thanks Mom, I'll see you this evening."

"Bye dear, Don't forget your sweater. I put the white knit one on the hanger by the door." "Ok Mother." Kendra replied. She picked up the sweater and her school bag. Kendra smiled as she noticed how her school bag had changed from its old navy blue to a hot pink. The name Kendra Brewster was now on the label. "Mother thought of everything" She said to herself. She closed the door and actually started to skip happily down the walkway to the bus stop.

The alarm sounded. Jake slowly came out of his dream world. He swung his legs out of the bed and trodded into the bathroom. Relieved of his morning discomfort, he turned on the shower to allow it to warm up. While waiting he looked at himself in the mirror. He needed to shave. There was something different. He looked closely trying to remember what it was. Then it dawned on him. "What the heck." He muttered to himself. He felt his neck and his ears to make sure he was not dreaming. They were gone. The necklace and earrings were not there. Not even the holes in his earlobes were there. Jake stood and looked at himself for a long time. Not until the room started to fill up with steam from the shower did he come out of his reverie. Jake was happy. It must have all been a bad dream he thought. Jake finished his shower and after shaving, he returned to his room. To be sure he checked all through the bed, on the floor and even in his clothes from the previous day. He found no trace of the earrings and necklace. It had all been a bad dream he thought. He was sure of it. Some trick of his imagination. Jake felt utter relief. "God, that would have been embarrassing." He said to himself. Jake started to whistle quietly. He felt much relieved. But still he thought, "that was one hell of a dream. Jake finished dressing and sat at his computer. He regularly checked his E-mail in the morning and today was no exception. He had only one message today. He noted the address and laughed. He was about to delete the message from GuardianAngel3@fairynet.net as nothing more than some kooky message from a fag or something when he clicked on it anyway. He read it and felt the bile rise in his throat. "Damded. Someone knows about that sissy jewelry." He said to himself. For another ten minutes Jake tried to trace the email source. But he kept running into a dead end. No profile, even fairynet.net could not be located by the common search engines. Frustrated, Jake shut off his computer and headed for the bus stop. His day was starting out badly.

Chapter 11 Kendra 'meets' Jake

As Kendra reached the end of her walkway, Rebecca and Alison Henderson and their brother Nathan came out of their house across the street. Kendra, as Ken was good friends with Nathan and his sisters. Ever since moving to town the two families had found a liking for each other. Alison and Rebecca were twins and were a year younger than Ken. Nathan was a few months older than Ken. It was probably the fact that each family had twins in residence being raised by single mothers, that the commonality had drawn each family together. Of course the twins from each family were always together. Except for school. Mary and Margaret would not start attending the Greenwood Middle School until the following September.

"Hi Kendra. Wait up." Nathan yelled from across the street. The three teens hurried to catch up with Kendra. It was not lost on Kendra as she waited for her friends to cross the street that Nathan had called her by her new name. "The first test." Kendra said to herself nervously. The three siblings crossed the street and joined Kendra. The girls, as girls do started to compliment Kendra in her choice of clothes and without waiting for a reply, started to tell her about the concert that they had gone to over the weekend. There was no indication that anything was out of place. Kendra relaxed. She realized that her mother had worked her magic perfectly. Kendra was a girl. Period. Everyone would accept that as having always been. Kendra was surprised however when Nathan offered to carry her school bag.

Graciously, Kendra thanked Nathan and surrendered her bag. The younger girls started to giggle. "Go ahead Nathan. Ask her." Said Rebecca to a chorus of more giggles. Kendra looked at Nathan. "Ask me what? "Well I..." The boy stammered then regained his composure. Would you like to go with me to the school dance this Friday?" The girls giggled again. "Nathan has a girlfriend. Nathan has a girlfriend" they teased. Kendra was a loss to answer. It was the last thing she expected to happen. Kendra blushed crimson. Momentarily saved as the school bus pulled up to the stop. Rebecca and Alison got on first.

Kendra turned to Nathan smiling

"I'll be honored Nate." She whispered. " Thanks for asking me." The bus was half full. No one even batted an eyelash as the "new" girl took a seat with her friends. It was as she sat down, she noticed Jake at the back of the bus. He was seated with another boy from the high school. As usual he was clowning around. Kendra thought it a shame that the town had found it necessary to build the middle school and high school side by side and then use the same buses for both the younger and older students. It was a catalyst for harassment and intimidation. Especially from the likes of Jake.

Kendra though how nice it must be to go to St. Mary's where that behavior was taboo.

Jake did not recognize Kendra at all. To Jake she was another of those young silly middle school girls. A waste of his time. Unless of course they approached

Kendra felt wonderful. The other girls on the bus who Kendra recognized from her classes accepted her into their midst as if she had always belonged. She knew now that everything was going to be fine. Kendra would be able to focus her attention on Jake without having to worry about her own changes.

The bus pulled up to the high school first to discharge the older students. Jake was his usual self. He bullied his way forward without regard for the safety of others ahead of him. Kendra took a small pink Post-it pad from her purse and scribbled a note on it. As Jake passed her seat she stick it to his school bag. Jake did not notice as he was too busy with being the first off the bus. Kendra watched as he walked away from the bus taking jabbing punches at the boy who was with him. "Be careful Jake" She said to herself. The rest of the day was spent getting used to her new role in school. Although she had done the routine countless times before, being one of the girls and interacting as one had it awkward moments. Using the girls lavatory and taking girl's Gym class and Home Economics was a totaling different experience. Kendra did manage to bluff it out and soon found that it was not that much different than what the boys did. She did find that the attention that she got from her former male classmates was unsettling. She felt more on the defensive than she had before. Kendra watched and learned what the other girls did to ward off unwanted advances and she soon found herself doing the same thing. To say the least, it was an interesting first day. Kendra was exhausted when she finally boarded the bus for the ride home. She looked around for Jake but he was not on the bus. Nathan got on the bus and took the seat next to her. His sisters sat further back with some other kids from their class. They still giggled as they walked past where Kendra and Nathan sat. Alison leaned over and whispered jokingly to Kendra, "watch out for him he's a wolf." Nathan heard this and gave his sister a playful swat. "Come on Sis, Lay off." Kendra just smiled. She was getting to like Nathan even more than before.

Earlier that day-------

Jake was back to his old self. He had forgotten all about the strange occurance of the necklace and earrings. "Out of site, out of mind" as the old adage goes. He had met Lou on the way to the bus stop and since there was no one better to spend some time with he had let him tag along. Jake actually was looking for a couple of his other buddies but for some strange reason he could not remember who. Jake and Lou separated in the hall. They had different home rooms. They had agreed to meet at the coffee shop after school and hang out. Jake set his bag down in front of his locker. It was the that he noticed the note stuck to the side of the bag. An astute observer whould have notice the color drain out of Jake's face at that moment only to be replaced with the crimson color of rage. Jake put a fairly good dent in the locker door as he hit it with the side of a closed fist. The other students in the hallway gave him a wide berth as he went into a diatribe of profanity and repeated punched at the door of the locker. "It's a girl. I know it's a girl. Probably pissed off that I dumped her or something. You Bitch. Wait I'll find you. You'll be sorry you screwed with me." Jake said to no one in particular. Everyone had headed off down the hall. Jake turned and found himself alone. The bell rang and this infuriated him even more. Now the bitch has caused me to be late for Home Room. Jake would have to serve a detention for being late. For the rest of the day his mood only got worse. He could not think of anything else except to find who was screwing with him. "KB KB ...Those initials I know them but who" The thought kept going through his mind all day long....... Serving the afternoon detention for being late meant that would miss the bus and that he would have walk downtown. He was none to happy at the prospect and whoever was playing mind games was going to pay. His mood did improve a little when he saw the old blind man walking toward him near the edge of the park. As the man passed Jake stuck out his foot and hooked it around the white cane. The man fell sideways onto the grass. Luckily the sod and grass was soft and the old man did not get hurt. Jake just walked on as if nothing had happened chuckling to himself.

Kendra had observed Jake in her magic mirror. "Strike one Jake. I think it will be time for us to chat soon." She said to the projected image. Kendra called her mother at work and after a few minutes of telling her about the days events, she asked her to perform a little magic for her. Sarah thought it was a good lesson and agreed. Kendra sat down at her computer and sent Jake another Email....

To: BestJake1@greenwood.com

From: GuardianAngel3@fairynet.net

Subj: That wasn't nice

Jake, I saw that incident with the blind man. That was not what I had in mind when I sent you the message this morning. That is strike one. You really need to do something about your attitude toward others before it is too late. I know there is better in you if you would only try. To show I can do what I say, check your feet when you get up in the morning. I really do care about your future.

Your guardian fairy, KB Later that evening Jake read the second Email. His mood turned sour. He had never felt so out of control. Frustrated he hit the delete button and shut of his computer. He stripped down to his "birthday suit" and went to bed. Sleep was slow in coming as he lay there fuming about how he was being manipulated and he could do nothing about it.

The next morning Jake awoke and half asleep he stumbled out of bed and put on his bathrobe. Rubbing his eyes, he walked into the kitchen. He opened the refrigerator and took out the orange juice. His mother and sister had already sat down to breakfast when she started laughing. Jake turned to look at her as see what was going on when it became apparent that she was laughing and pointing at him.

"Those are pretty Jake. Nicer than any of mine." Janice said then started to giggle again. His mother turned and looked then put a hand over her mouth in a vain attempt to stop from laughing. She almost succeeded

"Jake, they really are pretty. Where did you get them?" She asked jokingly. Jake looked down at his feet. He was wearing the prettiest pink anklets trimmed with 2 rows of ruffled white lace. Obviously the type meant to be worn by girls wearing a party dress or similar apparel. Jake dropped the container of orange juice and ran into his room. His heart pounding in his chest. He was experiencing fear. Something totally alien to him. Jake did not even recognize it for what it was. All he knew was that he had to get the sissy socks off. The fact that he had no idea how they had gotten on his feet scared the hell out of him. He was starting to get the idea that he was dealing with something a lot bigger than he was. Jake was starting to lose some of his self confidence. He was used to calling the shots but these happenings, he had no control over them and that scared him. The point was rammed home even further when he removed the anklets. Perfectly applied, to meticulously pedicured toes, was an very glossy, bright pink application of nail polish. It was then that he remembered the Email of the previous evening. He felt anger and defeat. Humiliation and frustration all rolled into one. For the first time in as long as he could remember, he did not know what to do. For the second time in less than a week he broke down and started to cry.

Kendra watched this episode in her mirror. Spinning the mirror in her hands as her mother had told her to do, she broke the spell. Unnoticed by Jake because of his moment of self pity, the anklets disappeared and his toe nails returned to normal. It would be several days however before his mother and sister would stop giving him strange looks and giggling whenever he was around. Human nature being what it is, changes to the personality occur only after a lesson is taught. Even then reversion can occur when the lessons are forgotten. In Jake's case, this was also to hold true. Jake had been so shaken up by the occurrences of the past few days that he felt like he was walking on egg shells. It was nearly month before he slipped up again. During that time he made a determined effort to actually be pleasant. Not once did he bully anyone, he was even nice to his sister Janice. During that time he still tried to find out who had sent the elusive email but without success. No amount of searching provided any online profile or return path for the email. He was not even sure what he would do with the information if he was able to find a trace. But a month with no other email or any other sign of invasion of his machismo slowly allowed him to revert to his former self. Leopards do not change spots easily.

Kendra's feminine personality developed rapidly. The new hormones working their 'magic' along with her mother and sisters treating her as if she had always been a girl. Everything around her was strictly feminine in nature. Brenda and Luanne went out of their way to assure that this was so. The house was stripped of anything that would remind the girl of her former self. Kendra noticed this of course but said nothing. Secretly she struggled to retain some semblance of her former self. If for no other reason than to allow her to make comparisons between the two. She reveled in the attention that was being lavished on her. Not being undone of course by her new "boyfriend" Nathan Henderson. It was obvious that he was totally infatuated with her. His two sisters Rebecca and Alison subtlety doing everything they could to encourage him. The two girls and their escorts along with Nathan and Kendra had gone to the school dance that Friday and Nathan's two sisters had from that point on found it a challenge to play matchmaker with their brother and their best friend.

Chapter 12

On a Friday afternoon nearly a month to the day that Jake had first experienced the un-nerving incident with the necklace, He entered the foyer of his home in a relatively good mood. Janice had left earlier for a sleepover with some friends and his mother had gone to a women's beauty convention. Jake liked those occasions when he had the house to himself. He could call some of his buddies over and they could party. He picked up the mail from the door drop basket and briefly scanned through it. The post card was a plain notification addressed to him advising him that he had a package at his Pak-Mail box to be picked up. The notice said that it had been delivered three weeks previously. Jake was perplexed. He did not remember ordering anything. Wondering what it could be and since it was still relatively early, he took the card and decided to go pick it up. Had he know what was to develop from this he would have without hesitation called the mail office and had it sent back. Jake made several phone calls to a few friends inviting them over for a party that evening then left the house for the short walk to the Pak-Mail office. Forty minutes later he was back home in his bedroom. The box laying on the foot of his bed. The contents laying on the bedcovers. Jake stood there, his mouth open and a look of consternation on his face. Then slowly at first then more rapidly his memory return. "Ken Brewster. That wimpy sissy!! "That's who these things were for. He said out loud. A wicked smile crossing his face.

Kendra sensed her name had been uttered by Jake. That was part of the "gift". She picked up her magic mirror and there was Jake. He was holding a dress. At first she was confused and then understanding came to her. "Why Jake, that is a beautiful dress and petticoat. I wonder who that is for?" She said to the mirror. Knowingly. Kendra decided to do a wait and see what he would do next.

That evening Kendra told Sarah what she had seen in the mirror. Sarah listened intently. She was concerned about her daughter's inexperience and decided to monitor developments closely but discreetly. "Kendra dear, I want you to be careful for the next few days. If Jake has regained his memory, he can be very revengeful and you might just get hurt. I will keep close watch on him and will intervene if I don't like what I see. You understand this don't you?" Sarah said with concern in her voice. "Yes Mother. I understand. I'll be careful." The young girl replied. "Good. You watch Jake and I'll watch you both." But if he does anything stupid he'll get the necklace and earrings back and something else as well. Sarah said with a little less seriousness to her voice. "Now lets you and I make supper. Brenda and Luanne will be home shortly they might like being treated for a change.

Jake spent the next two days watching for Ken to no avail. He had watched for him at school as well as from the park near Ken's house. He had seen the sisters coming and going. He had observed Kendra on a couple of occasions but could not make the connection. Kendra knew that Jake was watching and had made sure that her appearance was as girlish as possible. She was being a bit devious but that did not bother her at all. She was setting Jake up. It was his choice if he acted foolishly. Her main concern was that Jake did not get hurt physically and that she do whatever was necessary to help him become a courteous and respectable human being. Jake on the other hand was confused. He was almost certain that Ken at only four sisters yet he had seen five different girls come and go and yet no Ken. He had tried to find his buddies Sid and Billy to help him but they were no where to be found. He had stopped by their house just as their mother was driving away with two small girls in the back seat. Jake had knocked on the door but no one had answered. A note on the door said that the family would be away for a few days and that if there was an emergency to contact the family next door. Jake noticed the man next door was watching him so Jake decided to leave before he was mistook for a burglar. Early on Saturday morning, the third day of his searching for Ken he got lucky. Or so he thought. He had taken up an observation position on the corner where he could watch front of Ken's house without being seen himself. After about an hour he grinned widely. He had seen Ken in a second floor window of his house. He waited. He was about to put his plan into action. He picked up the flat gray clothes box from the bench next to him and tucked it under his arm. Fifteen minutes later, Jake saw "Ken" emerged from his house. He was dressed much the same way as the day he had been confronted outside the coffee shop. Only this time he had his hair in a ponytail held high on the back of his head with a pink scrunchie. He was wearing pink shorts and an white tank top. He had pink and white sneakers on his feet with no socks.

Kendra was quite aware that Jake had been trying to find her other self. She had observed his activities in her magic mirror and had asked Sarah what she should do. Sarah had thought about it for awhile and then had come into Kendra's bedroom and sat on the edge of the girl's bed. "Kendra dear, I know your heart is set on trying to make a good boy out of Jake. I am happy that you feel that way and I will make a few suggestions and if you agree I think you will like the results. Just bear in mind that Jake is the one who must be responsible for what he does. you must always remember that humans do have free will. All we, as fairies can do is guide, nudge a little and if necessary alter their direction."

"I understand Mother. But I really don't want to see Jake end up like Sylvia and Billie. That WAS a little drastic." Kendra replied. "Not really dear. Those two were headed for jail eventually. But now, they will become outstanding contributors to society. If they have to be girls to do it, so what? The end justifies the means in their case. And their mother is a much happier person now." "I'm sorry Mother, I didn't know. You are right as always." "Thats ok honey, you will learn in time. Now here's what I suggest. "Tomorrow morning I want you and Luanne to ....................."

Chapter 13

Jake followed Ken. He stayed far enough behind so that Ken would not get suspicious. Jake did not see Luanne leave the house a few minutes later and start to follow him. Jake was too keen on watching where Ken was going to even consider that he himself was being followed. Jake's only thought was that he would get an opportunity to overtake the "sissy" somewhere near the park or at least near the warehouse area just outside the downtown area.

Jake's plan was simple. Get him alone, make him undress and get him into the clothes that was in the box. Then make him walk down to the coffee shop. The place would be mobbed on Saturday morning with a lot of kids from school. Ken would never be able to live it down. And Jake would get his revenge and have some fun at the same time

As Ken approached the park, Jake turned and cut across a side street and entered the park from the far end so that he could get to the bandstand first. It was early and as usual the park was empty. He knew that if the sissy was headed downtown he would cut across the park and pass next to the bandstand. This was a good place to confront him without being disturbed. The stands deck was a good seven feet above the grass and there was a storage area underneath that the Park Dept. used to store the lawn equipment. Jake knew that the door was very seldom locked and today it was as he suspected unlocked again. Jake opened the wooden door to the storage area. He then waited out of sight behind the building. Unknown to him, Luanne was following a discreet distance behind. She stopped, waited and watched about a hundred feet away, hiding behind some bushes at the edge of the park. It was obvious to Luanne that Jake was waiting to accost her sister. As soon as he laid a hand on her, Luanne would act. Sarah had briefed her on what to do if Jake even laid a finger on Kendra. Luanne's power had gained significantly since her own initiation and she was fully capable of carrying out Sarah's instructions.

Kendra knew where Jake was. She had taken her mirror with her and saw his image behind the bandstand. Smiling, she turned into the path that lead directly past where Jake was hiding. She knew Luanne was close by but her mirror would only project Jake. She hoped that Luanne was not that far away. Kendra knew that Jake was up to no good. As she approached where Jake was hiding she did start to get a little apprehensive. As she passed the backside of the bandstand, Jake stepped out in front of her.

"Hi Sissy. Now don't we look pretty today." Jake said with a snear.

Kendra feigned surprise. "Jake! What are you doing here? Kendra noticed the open door that lead under the bandstand. "Get out of my way." She said with trepidation in her voice.

"Sure Sissy. As soon as we finish our business."

"What business?" Kendra asked. "You make me sick you little fairy. You look and act more like a girl than a boy. So I decided to help you along a little. Jake said obviously enjoying the fear his was causing. "I got something for you missy. I know your going to like it. Jake reached out and grabbed Kendra by the arm and with one quick motion he push her through the door into the darkened interior and. then followed her inside closing the wooden door behind himself.

The small windows gave some light to the interior but was dim. There was sufficient light to see by. Kendra had nearly tripped but was able to regain her balance and stood near the center of the area with her back against one of the lawn tractors. Jake looked at the Ken with satisfaction. He was going to humiliate this boy to the point of tears and he was going to enjoy it.

Jake had set the box on a small bench earlier and he now opened it. He took out of the box a pretty white dress with an attached petticoat. The dress had a pink satin sash with fastened in the back with a large bow. The collar and short puffed sleeves were trimmed in pink lace. The attached petticoat was hemmed in white lace that just peeked out under the hem of the dress. Jake spread out the tissue that was in the box and laid the dress on top. He then opened a package of white tights that were delicately embroidered pink roses and laid those on top of the dress. Turning to Kendra he snickered. "Lets see what kind of a 'girl' you really are. Strip."

"Jake. Don't do this. You don't know what you are getting into. Look, let me go and we will forget all about this." Kendra pleaded. To some some extent she was pleading for Jake's own good. "Shut up Sissy. I said strip. I want to see you in this dress. You want to act like a girl then I'll help you look like a real one." Jake reached out and grabbed the top of Kendra's tank top and pulled to emphasize his point. Jake pulled a little to hard and the tank top ripped exposing Kendra's training bra and developing bosom.

Jake's mouth dropped open when he say Kendra's chest.

The initial shock passed quickly. "You..You.. Your a girl. Jake said with obvious surprise in his voice.

"Yes Jake. I am. What did you think I was. Kendra asked gently.

Jake was now afraid. It was one thing to beat up another boy but accosting a girl and ripping off her clothes could get him in a lot of trouble. It was one thing if the girl was willing . But this was going to get him in deep shit. Jake stammered.. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I always thought you were a boy." "Does it make a difference Jake? If I had been a boy, you would have tried to humiliate and embarrass me. If it wasn't me it would be someone else. Right?" "And that was strike two and three. Your out." Jake turned at the addition of the third voice. He saw Luanne standing in the doorway. She was obviously furious.

"Get out of here Jake. Before I do something drastic.: Luanne went over to to Kendra and put her arm around her shoulder. "Are you ok Sis?" She asked.

"He just ripped my top that's all." Kendra said. Jake started to put the dress back in the box. He had no use for it put he figured he could return it for a refund. Luanne reached out and grabbed his hand. Jake felt a tingle start in his hand that seemed to travel up his arm and into his chest and then spread through his abdomen and down into his legs. For a few moments he felt totally weak. Jake passed the feelings off to fear for what he had done. "Leave it Jake. Or wear it yourself otherwise." Luanne said vehemently.

Jake was about to protest but thought better of it. He turned and ran out the door leaving the two girls and the dress behind.

"It's a pretty dress Luanne and I can't go around like this." Pointing to her topless condition. "I will thank Jake for it later" Both girls laughed at the irony. Kendra changed into the outfit that Jake had provided. The dress was more suitable for a party that for a Saturday morning walk in the park. But it was pretty and Kendra did like how it made her look and feel.

"Sis, I'm sorry that I had to interfere but it was mother who insisted. She has this uncanny ability to know when something bad is going to happen. She told me that if Jake tried to hurt you, I was to stop him. Permanently. Luanne said as they walked away from the bandstand. "So what happens to Jake now Luanne? I saw you pass on a spell when you touched his hand. Kendra asked. "Well lets just say that he will be a lot more gentle soon. But he will need some new dresses. A lot smaller than the one he just left with you." And he will be a lot more responsive to you as his guardian. Little girls are like that." Kendra and Luanne made eye contact for a moment as the walked. Then they both broke out in spontaneous giggling.

Chapter 14

Jake had run from the park. He felt safe. He didn't think the girls would turn him in for his stupid stunt but he felt the need to stay out of their way for a few days. He headed home. He never noticed the stares he got from the few people he passes on the way. Most people do stare when they see a six foot strapping young man wearing earrings, red nail polish and lipstick. Not to mention the pretty pink anklets with the lace fringe on his feet. Jake never notice all the way home. He was to deep in thought of what he had just done. By the time he got home he was four inches shorter and his hair was a at least six inches longer. The Jake that entered his house that fateful Saturday morning was not the Same person that had left just a couple of hours earlier. Luanne's magic had already had a profound effect on his physical appearance. The process of feminization already had made a marked difference although not enough that anyone who knew Jake did not know who he was. As Jake came in the front door, Janice his sister was just coming down the stairs. When she saw him, she stopped in mid stride and almost fell. For an instant, she look at him in surprise. Then she could not control herself. She started to laugh hysterically. Jakes' mother on hearing the commotion came out of the kitchen into the foyer. She took one look at her son and started to laugh then stifled it. "She could not help but exclaim "Jake, what have you been up to? You look like a girl." Poor Jake. Having had no idea what she was talking about became irritated. He was not having a good day. Jake turned to his mother to protest.

"What are you talking about?" He replied. His voice a half octave higher than it had ever been before.

"Jake, go into the bathroom and look in the mirror then you tell me what is going on." His mother said seriously.

Jake did as he was instructed and a few seconds later there was a high pitched scream heard through out the house. Space and time again shifted ever so slightly in Greenwood.

Jane looked at her daughter Janice. "Now what did you do to your sister this time?" She asked with some consternation.

"Nothing mother. She was sitting on the front porch and then came running in

the house screeming"

Jane opened the bathroom door and found the little girl sitting on the vanity chair. holding her teddy bear to her boson. Her hand appeared swollen.

"What's the matter dear?" She asked. I think I got stung by a bee or something." She said and started to cry again.

Jane knelt beside her daughter and took her hand. "Don't cry dear. Mommy will fix up that big bad sting. The little girl in the pink nightie put on a weak smile at her mother's comforting words.

It would be Janice that would ultimately teach her new five year old sister Jacque the necessary things about being a little girl. The two sisters were after all, fast and close friends. cute little Jacque. She was a doll in her cute little dresses. She was the friendliest child that anyone could remember.

For Jake the circle had closed. He was back in skirts again.

Epilogue: The Coffee shop soon became the place for all the girls in town to go and hang out. The Barbie motif just did not attract the guys, what few there were in Greenwood. They preferred the pool hall that had recently opened.

Jacque was reunited with Sylvia and Billie at the daycare. The three little girls became close friends that endured all through their maturing years. Kendra made the commitment when she turned fifteen to follow in her mother's footsteps. She felt that being a girl and a faery was what she was born to be. Kendra eventually became baby-sitter and fairy guardian to the three girls.

Rebecca, Alison, Kendra and the twins Mary and Margaret were eventually destined to become partners in a unique hairdressing salon in later years. But that is another story.

As for Nathan's and Kendra's relationship, like all early teenage attractions, they eventually, by mutual agreement and a little pressure from both mothers decided that they should not get to involved. They did remain close friends throughout their school years. Nathan grew into a strong muscular young man. He treated Kendra just like his sisters. Protectively. No other person ever tried to bother Kendra again. The traditions continued....

The End
