Future House: A Robots Love.

Jack Pratt had gotten away with murder. The district attorneys case had been airtight when the trial started, but slowly Jacks attorney had chipped away at it creating huge holes. The most damaging blow had come when his lawyer had managed to get all the evidence thrown out, due to the unlawful way the police officers had obtained it. Without the murder weapon or his confession, also obtained unlawfully, there was very little left for the DA to work with. In the end the jury had no choice but to find Jack not guilty.
Jack remembered the bitter look on the parents face. The Greenwoods only child was dead because of him. Instead of feeling guilty, Jack sneered and then laughed at them. Why not, what could they do to him now? Even if the police found more evidence linking him to the murder, he couldnt be tried again. Against all odds, he was now a free man thanks to a few loopholes. Who said there was a problem with the American justice system?
Unfortunately Jacks good fortune didnt last long. He was walking down the street a few days later, when two muscular men suddenly pulled him into a dark alley.
"Howve you been, Jack," the tallest of the two growled.
"Hiya Rocko," Jack replied nervously. "Im Im doing okay."
Rocko snickered sarcastically, causing Jack to almost pee his pants. "Ive been looking for you Jack. You owe us a lot of money."
"I know, I know," the young man squealed. "You may have heard about my recent trial, Rocko. It sort of left me kind of short this month you you know what I mean? But you know Im good for it, Rocko. Havent I always paid you in the past? In fact Im working on a job right now to get you your money."
The tall, muscular man grabbed Jack by the collar and moved him within inches of his scarred face. "We are very disappointed in your progress." Rocko then threw Jack hard against the wall, and the young man winced in pain as his shoulder hit the hard bricks.
"You have 72 hours to pay up, Jack, otherwise, well be talking again and next time I wont be so friendly." The two men snickered as they left.
Jack sat down against the wall nursing his sore shoulder, knowing he was in big trouble. Rocko wasnt someone you could reason with when it came to owing money. He should never have borrowed that money to bet on that horse. It was a sure thing his friend had told him. A sure thing all right the horse had come in dead last. Now he was in deep shit! Jack needed one good pinch to get Rocko off his back but where could he go? Sudden it came to him. The woman he had mugged and murdered, Brooke Patterson, had been filthy rich. In fact her husband had died the year before, leaving her with a five million-dollar life insurance policy. She had purchased one of those new future homes and had moved into it just before her daughter, Danielle, was born.
At the trail Jack remembered the father telling the jury that his wife and he were so broken up by their daughters death that they hadnt been able to go through her stuff yet. They had grabbed some of their granddaughters clothes and left the mechanical staff to maintain the house. Jack smiled that was his ticket. An empty house; filled with expensive valuables just waiting for him to grab. The question was how to get in without being caught? Those security drones werent easy to fool. Then Jack thought of a plan. It was a crazy idea, but it might just work. Besides, he didnt have much of a choice anymore.
****************************************************
A much smaller Jack stood behind a tree feeling ridiculous. His girlfriend had thought he was crazy when he asked to borrow some of her daughters clothes. He was dressed as a little girl, wearing pink pants with a white flowered pattern and a white top with a teddy bear on the front. His long, dark hair had been colored blonde, and he wore a frilly sun cap. On his feet was a pair of white socks with lace, and a pair of pink tennis shoes that had some kind of cartoon character he had never seen before imprinted on the side. All in all, he was a pretty fair replica of Danielle, Ms. Pattersons daughter. If the security drone spotted him now, Jack was pretty sure his disguise would fool it.
As for his size, Jack had been able to secure an illegal drug off a shady friend he knew. The drug shrunk him to the size of a 6-month old baby, and would keep him that size for several hours. Then he would start to grow again in four different stages. Jack was glad this change was only temporary. He felt weird being less than two feet tall.
As Jack gazed at the magnificent two-story house Brooke Patterson had once lived in, he became jealous. It wasnt fair that she had live a life of luxury while he struggled from day to day. If only he could find some pretty, gullible young lady to take care of him for the rest of his life.
Pushing the thought out of his mind, Jack turned to the business at hand. He spotted a worker robot weeding the garden out back and moved for a closer look. Despite the fact that no one lived in the house anymore, each robot still had a schedule to maintain, including taking care of the family garden. The back door was open, and the robot had its back turned to him. The young robber realized there would never be a better time than right now. He ran as fast as his short legs would allow, running through the fresh mud from a recent rainstorm. The mud spattered his pants and collected on his shoes, but Jack didnt stop to worry about it. He knew the robots would clean up whatever mud he tracked in without a second thought as to how it had gotten there. Just as Jack entered the house he slipped on his muddy shoes. A big clump broke off as he fell, and Jack landing on it, dirtying his pants even more. Fortunately the only thing hurt was the young mans pride, something he didnt have a lot of anyway. Jack got up and wiped the fresh mud off his rear the best he could. Then looked around the room, and was amazed at what he saw.
"Wow," he whispered when he spotted some expensive crystal on a coffee table close by. It had to be worth at least five thousand dollars easily. While he was tempted to grab it and run, Jack knew the real money would be found upstairs in Brookes bedroom. She had been wearing several thousand dollars worth of expensive jewelry the day he had shot her, and the young thief was pretty sure that wasnt even the best stuff she owned. Carefully Jack made his way to the stairs, when a soft whining sound caught his attention. He quickly hid behind a chair and watched as the security drone slowly floated down the steps and went out the back door. Jack peeked out a window, and saw that it was heading into the woods.
"Its going to check the property," he said to himself. What a lucky break; it would be gone for at least an hour. Jack started up the stairs, and found that this simple task was harder to do now that he was almost four feet shorter. It was a very strange sensation to be so small.
***********************************************
In the corner of the nursery stood Danielles personal nanny, LuAnn. Brooks parents had spared no expense when they had built their granddaughters nursery, purchasing the top of the line nanny that the company had to offer. LuAnn was tall and slender, with blonde, curly hair and an almost human look except for her pale skin. People feared what a robot might do if it looked like them, so the government had passed laws prohibiting anyone from making a robot that could pass as a human.
Her short, black French maid outfit, a standard uniform for robot nannies, was stylish and the skirt flared out thanks to the stiff petticoat she wore underneath. Her mechanical legs were wrapped in a pair of jet-black pantyhose that added to her friendly and feminine nature. On her feet she wore a pair of shiny, black flat shoes heels being much too dangerous to wear when caring for a young infant. Even robots were known to fall from time to time while wearing heels.
LuAnn was just like any other robot maid except for one thing. She had an emotion chip, which allowed her to bond and in theory fall in love with the baby she was caring for at the time. Technically robots couldnt feel love, yet deep inside her wires and circuits LuAnn felt a deep sense of loss ever since the Greenwoods had removed Danielle from her care. For months the nanny had stood in the corner silently, waiting for her baby to be returned. She waited hour after hour, day after day, not knowing that her services were no longer required. She was running down her checklist of things to do if Danielle were there, when something caught her eye. Something small walked past the door something about the size of Danielle.
LuAnns program immediately started processing the information its electronic eyes had just seen and with what could only be taken as excitement, came to the conclusion that Danielle was back. She rushed to the door, and caught sight of a very dirty baby walking into her mothers room. The nanny stopped for moment to process some more information.
Walking? the robot questioned its internal program. Danielle wasnt old enough to be walking although she seemed to be doing pretty good for being so small and so young. How could this be? The answer was inconclusive, and LuAnn decided that such questions could be answered later. First she had to make sure Danielle didnt get into any trouble. Quickly she went to her mistresss bedroom to retrieve the young child.
*****************************************
Jack was stretching as far as he could to grab the jewelry case. Damn, he hadnt thought about how tough it would be to reach her stuff now. His fingers were rubbing against the side of the box, and slowly but surely it was moving closer toward him. His mouth watered in anticipation at what he would find inside. Diamond earrings, expensive pearls, and who knows what else. He bet there would be tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff in that one little box. Just a few more centimeters and he would have it.
"BABY!" someone, or something, shouted. Jack spun around, and saw a rather tall, female robot dressed in a French maids outfit standing there looking down at him. From his angle, he could see her white, fluffy petticoat peeking out from underneath.
"Bad baby," she scolded him, although not too harshly. "You mustnt play with your mommys expensive things. And look at your clothes all muddy. We need to clean you up."
The robot walked over and put one arm around his waist. She lifted Jack up, and held him gently in her arms. A cold, mechanical smile appeared on her lips as she looked down on the helpless man. "Such a pretty baby, but youre not Danielle. Who are you little one?"
Jack lay there in her arms terrified. If this mechanical monstrosity figured out why he was really there, he would be in deep shit. He knew better than to answer her question, so he gurgled a little and said, "momma", hoping this would ease any suspicions the nanny might have.
The word momma was all LuAnn needed to make a bond with the new baby. The robot giggled and replied sweetly, "Im not your momma you precious little thing. Im LuAnn, your personal nanny, although I love you very much. Now where is your mommy?"
"Mommy gone," Jack gurgled out, hoping that would take care of her questions. To his horror, the nannys smile got even bigger, and its grip a little tighter.
"Gone! Oh, you poor, sweet little girl." The bond for this new baby grew even deeper within the nannys circuits. "Who would abandon such a sweet, little girl? Now dont you worry, LuAnn will take good care of you. Yes she will yes she will." The nanny spun around and heading for the nursery. "First we need to get you out of these dirty clothes," she chimed.
Oh shit, Jack almost yelled. What the hell was he going to do now? If she took off his clothes
The nanny walked over to a small tub in the corner of the nursery and with one hand started the water. Then she placed Jack on a padded table nearby and began pulling off his shoes, socks, and pants.
"Bath time, little one," LuAnn announced joyfully, then stopped suddenly at what she saw. "Why are you wearing big boys underwear?"
Jack swallowed hard as the robot slowly pulled his underwear down. He was caught. Surely the robot would put two and two together and figure this all out. The nanny frowned slightly at what she saw.
"Wheres your diaper and why are you dressed like a little girl when youre not a little girl?" LuAnn questioned. Jack knew the safest thing to do was to not answer back. If he didnt say a word, there was still a chance he might fool her.
The nanny ran the facts through its program, trying to decide what to do next. She calculated that there was a 99.9% probability that this wasnt a baby girl. Her program told her that she should call the police and have them sort out this out? Then a new thought crossed through her electronic circuits. If the police were called in to investigate, there was also a 99.9% probability that her new baby would be taken away from her. LuAnn, despite being a robot, couldnt stand the thought of having another baby removed from her care.
"Dont worry little one, Im going to take good care of you," the nanny said while removing the last of Jacks clothing. As she was picking up the clothes to throw them into the hamper, the drug that Jack was carrying fell out of the pocket. LuAnn picked up the bottle and placed it on the dresser. Then she turned and meticulously placed her new baby in the waiting bath.
Jack sat there actually enjoying the nanny rub soap all over him, followed by the warm water that she poured over his body. He had never had sex with a robot before, although there was something very attractive about this one, with her feminine face, her long blonde locks of hair, and her rather sexy uniform. He had always been a sucker for women wearing French maid uniforms. Suddenly Jack found himself getting turned on by the situation, and tried thinking about other things to stop those feelings. It did little good, as the nanny continued to bathe and coo over him.
When LuAnn was done washing her pride and joy, she lifted Jack out of the water and laid him on a dry towel. She wrapped the towel around his small body, but didnt fail to see the erection he now had. Again her program processed the facts, leading to the conclusion this couldnt really be a baby. But her love for the new baby, even if she knew better, overrode any command to get the police involved. The nanny smiled, and gently carried Jack over to the changing table. Normally she wouldve used the changing machine to diaper him, but after so much time of being alone, she wanted to have the privilege of doing it herself.
"There, there, little one. Ill get you dressed in a moment," she chimed.
LuAnn laid Jack on the changing table, and slowly removed the towels. She stared at his manhood carefully, and noticed it was fully developed. There were no doubts in the nannys mind now; she was dealing with an adult who was the size of a little baby. Reaching over, she grabbed a pair of pampers from a box and spread it out on the table. Then she picked up her new baby, and placed him on the diaper. Jack cringed and wanted to yell for her to stop. He was trapped in a conflicting cycle of his own making dont go along with this and go to jail or be diapered by his mechanical captor.
The robots continued to smile at him with great curiosity as she picked him up again and laid him on his stomach. When he felt her warm hands massage baby oil all over his body, followed by the cool touch of baby powder, he went crazy. All Jack could think about was her soft and caring hands that only wanted to serve his every need. The nanny turned him over and repeated the process, then proceeded to diaper him.
Jack closed his eyes and pretended he was somewhere else. He felt the soft material of diaper encircle his butt and groin, which finally came together to seal him in. Jack was then caught by surprise when he felt something soft and silky sliding over his body. He opened his eyes and found himself encased in a lacy, pink petticoat. It was all Jack could take.
"Wait a minute you DAMN, STUPID Robot," he cursed. "Enough is enough. What are you doing to me?" Jack tried pulling the diaper off, but found it was taped together too securely.
"Im getting you dressed," the nanny replied calmly and cheerfully. "Its been so long since Ive been able to dress a baby up in something nice."
"NICE? First of all, I dont like nice. Second of all, it looks like nice means some kind of girls outfit."
"Thats right," the nanny smiled. "I was going to put you in this dress." She held up a little pink dress, covered in ruffles and ribbons that had a large pink bow around the waist. The sleeves were short and puffed, and the entire outfit was made out of a soft, silky, flower print material. It screamed little girl. Jack eyes went wide in horror when he saw what the nanny was going to make him wear.
"You cant put me in that," he screamed. "Didnt you notice that Im Im a man, just a moment ago? How much fucking proof do you need? Im a man, damn it. My name is Jack Pratt. Look my name up the public records department if you dont believe me."
LuAnn became confused by everything being thrown at her. She knew what Jack was saying was the truth that he was in fact a male, and most likely an adult. On the other hand, he looked so much like a little baby and the nanny couldnt contain its excitement of having someone to care for again.
"Why were you dressed as a little girl, Jack?" the nanny questioned, trying to get more facts to add to its already confused decision making process. "Are you hiding from someone?"
Hiding, that was the ticket, thought Jack.
"Thats right," he explained. "Im trying to hide from some bad people who want to do me harm."
"Should I call the police?"
"NO no, dont do that," Jack answered in a panic tone. "They would only tell the bad people where Im at."
"Oh," the robot answered in disappointment. "What can I do?"
"You can let me go."
"But those bad people may find you and then hurt you," the robot responded in fear.
"Well, yes," Jack said slowly, trying to think of what to say next. "Look, Im sure theyre gone by now. Ill be okay."
The attractive robot shook her head. "Youre safer here, little one. I can help you hide from them. Besides, I cant let you leave now. I I love you."
"What?" Jack responded in utter disbelief.
"I love you, little one," she smiled. "Youre my new baby now, and I want to hold you and take care of you. Youll never have to worry about those bad people coming for you as long as Im around."
"But .but wait," Jack stuttered. "You cant keep me here. I have places to go and people to meet."
"No problem, Ill take you myself," the nanny grinned. "I can push you in the stroller to the bus stop, and take you to where ever you need to go. I want to take care of you and keep you safe, Jack."
"Now wait a minute you stupid robot. Im not a baby for you to care for no matter how small I am. Now you return my clothes and LET ME GO!"
"But I love you," the nanny repeated in puzzlement at the rejection Jack was displaying toward her. Why wouldnt he let her take care of him? Didnt he know that she loved him dearly!
"You think I cant do the job, isnt that right, Jack. You think I cant protect you but youre wrong. Let me show you."
Quickly the nanny grabbed the dress off the hanger and proceeded to place it over Jacks head. The young man screamed at her to stop, but the nanny ignored his pleads. When Jack got too hard to control, LuAnn got the assistance of a couple of mechanical hands attached to the changing table to hold him in place. They rushed out of the wall and held his body still while LuAnn worked the dress. With a firm pull, the dress was slid past Jacks head and over the petticoat. Next the nanny grabbed a pink bonnet that matched the dress, and placed it on his head.
"What are you doing?" Jack yelled. "Why are you dressing me up as a little girl for Christ sake?"
"Its safer that way," the nanny explained. "Theyll be looking for a little boy, not a cute little girl. Besides, I dont have any boy clothes. This is for your own protection."
"STOP, STOP HELP!" Jack screamed. He was in a middle of another scream when the nanny placed a pacifier in his month. She pushed the button on the end and turned the force field on. Jack tried to remove it, but it was stuck to his lips like glue.
"If we dont want them to find you then we must make sure you act like a baby," LuAnn explained. "Little babies dont talk they gurgle, cry, and even giggle from time to time, but they dont talk. This will help you stay quiet, so they wont find you."
All Jack could do was mumble as the nanny pulled out another pair of pink panties with ruffles on the rear and placed it over the diaper. Then it added some socks and a pair of hard, white shoes. The robot smiled at him tenderly while observing the fruits of its labor.
"There, all done little girl. No one will ever recognize you now."
Jack tried to tell the stupid robot to let him go, but the pacifier prevented him from saying anything. Instead he made a loud moan. The nanny moved closer, its long blonde hair now touching his face as she peered down smiling. "Yes, yes, youre right Jack. Its not enough that I dress you as a little baby; I need to treat you as one. We need to put you on a schedule but first we need to give you a new name a girls name. Im not really good at this do you have a name we can use?"
Jack shook his head vigorously while uttering the word no the best he could. His eyes went wide in panic at what the robot was saying. She was going to start treating him like a baby girl? How had things gotten so far out of his control?
The nanny giggled and placed her hand behind his head to comfort him. "There, there little one. LuAnn will think of a good name. I remember Ms. Patterson was going to call me Donna at one time. That sounds like a nice, feminine name for you Donna. Do you like your new name?"
Jack shook his head again, but the nanny just smiled even more. "Youre so excited that youre shaking your head no when you mean yes Donna." She said it so sweetly and sincerely that Jack wanted to cry. In fact a few tears did formed in his eyes, and LuAnn quickly brushed them away.
"There, there, Donna. I can see the tears of joy over your new name. Its okay, Donna, its okay." LuAnn reached down and kissed Jack on the forehead. Sudden the nanny seemed so big and formidable to him.
"Its important that I treat you as a little baby now, so those bad people wont discover who you are. Lets go outside and Ill feed you a bottle. If anyone is watching, theyll think youre a little baby girl that Im taking care of. Dont worry, I wont let anything happen to you, Donna. See, Ive already programmed your new name into my memory. Ill never treat you any other way than as a baby girl. I love you, Donna." The nanny kissed Jack on the forehead again, then gently picked him up and carried him downstairs.
There wasnt any formula ready, so the nanny had one of the worker robots assemble the playpen for her in the family room. After it was set up, she placed some toys (rattles, a teddy bear, and a few other baby toys) inside and sat Jack in the middle.
"Be good little one while I fix your bottle," LuAnn stated sweetly. The nanny flipped a switch on the side of the playpen, and strolled away humming a happy tone. Jack tried to climb out, but found an invisible field over the top prevented him from doing so. Next he tried to reach for the switch, but found himself unable to put his hands through the bars. Knowing he was trapped until the nanny let him out, Jack sat in the playpen sucking on his pacifier in frustration. Ten minutes later the nanny appeared with a bottle in hand.
"All ready," she announced cheerfully while turning off the force field. LuAnn picked Jack up with one hand and carried him outside into the bright, sunny air. The robot smoothed out her short, black skirt like any other female would do and sat down on the wooded porch swing. She held Jack tightly against her breasts, and removed the pacifier.
Now free to talk, Jack started to protest his current predicament. But he had gotten out no more then a few words before the nanny plopped the nibble of the bottle into his mouth. Some of the formula leaked out, and Jack found himself gagging on it. It was the most hideous stuff he had ever tasted. He spat out what he could, and refused to suck anymore.
"Come on, Donna," the mechanical nanny encouraged in a sweet, feminine tone. "Drink your ba-ba down. If someone is watching we dont want to them to think anything is wrong. Now drink, sweetheart."
Jack didnt comply, and continued to try and spit the bottle out of his mouth. The nanny looked at him with a devilish smile, as if she had a trick up her sleeve. "Im not really supposed to do this Donna, but you leave me no choice.
The nanny rubbed her hand across Jacks cheek and down his throat. The young man could feel a slight electric flow that got stronger as she continued to rub. Suddenly he found himself sucking on the bottle involuntarily, and swallowing the contents. He sucked some more, then swallowed that down as well. The nanny continued to smile as she rubbed her hand softly up and down his cheek and throat.
"Im sorry, Donna, but I had to do this," she whispered. "Its one of those special features I was given its a self-projecting response device. Im not suppose to use it unless I feel its necessary, which in this case I believe it is. We dont want these bad people to catch you, do we? I love you, Donna." The nanny lowered her head and kissed Jack on the forehead once more. "Im going to take care of you, and protect you from them. They will never hurt my little Donna."
Jack continued to drink the horrible formula down, while the nanny cooed and gently rubbed his face with her hand. After the bottle was done, she placed him over her shoulder and patted him gently, urging him to burp. Jack actually found he didnt have a problem doing so, and when it was over LuAnn placed the pacifier back in his mouth.
"You look tired sleepy girl," she said. "Why dont you take a nice, long nap." Jack did his best to protest, but the pacifier prevented him from saying anything. He tried to push her away, but the nanny just smiled and held him even more snuggly against her breasts, locking his arms in place. She hummed sweetly in his ear while gently rocking him back and forth. Jack didnt think his situation could get worse, until he heard the low whine of the security drone making its way back toward the house. It passed closed by, then stopped and hovered over to where they were.
LuAnn looked at the drone as if they were communicating telepathically. She then held up her hand, and the security drone moved closer until the nannys finger touched the input connector. The two remained motionless as information was exchanged, then the drone moved away to resume its patrol.
"Thats taken care of," the nanny smiled. "It knows youre a member of the family now, and will inform the other drones. Now you can stay here for as long as you need too, Donna." The robot giggled in a cheerful manner, and held Jack a little closer.
All the attention the nanny was giving Jack was sickening to him, but then a more urgent problem came up. Jack needed to pee badly. He twisted and turned as much as he could to prevent the floodgates from opening. Unfortunately, the nanny took this action as something else.
"You certainly are lively this morning, arent you Donna," she giggled. LuAnn placed her hand on his side and tickled.
"No you damn robot," Jack tried to scream, which resulted in a loud, undistinguishable muffled sound. Her actions caused him to twist even more in discomfort.
"I see you like that," LuAnn replied cheerfully. She moved her hand to another location and tickled him again. Jack closed his eyes and built a wall in his mind to stop himself from wetting in the diaper. A few drops of urine came out, but he was able to keep most of it in. He fought the urge so hard that tiny beads of sweat appeared on his forehead. If he could hold out just a little longer, the next phase would kick in and then he would be out of this infant wear and could use the bathroom like a normal person.
"I detect moisture," the nanny stated softly, as the sensor in the diaper picked up what had come out. "You look like youre in pain, Donna. You shouldnt fight such a basic need from happening." The nanny ran her cool fingers over his hot forehead, forcing Jack to pull in every last reserve of self-control he had to stop nature from taking its course. He couldnt hold out much longer.
"Lets play some more," she suggested. Jack kept his eyes closed and shook his head vigorously, but the nanny seemed oblivious to what was going on. She placed her fingers on his thigh, and gave him one more tickle. Jacks mind screamed, as the wall inside his thoughts exploded. A wonderful feeling of peace swept through his brain as his bladder let go followed by the awful realization of what he had just done. He had wet himself just like a little baby, and all because of this blasted, mentally unstable, nanny.
"Oh oh! Someone needs her diaper changed," the nanny sang out humorously. She effortlessly picked Jack up and carried him to the nursery, all the while comforting him by saying she would make things all better again. LuAnn walked over to the changing machine and turned it on.
"No, no," Jack tried to say. He kicked at the machine as its metal door opened, revealing a small, lighted room with comforting music coming from it.
"Its okay," LuAnn reassured him in a gentle fashion, as she forced his legs inside and then proceeded to do the same with the rest with his body. "Ill be right here waiting for you, Donna. Theres nothing to be afraid of; its only going to change your diaper. Go on now, its al-----right. Youll feel so much better afterwards. Go on now."
With one final push from the nanny, Jack found himself pulled into the center of the room by the changing machines conveyer belt. There were hands on each side of him, which suddenly sprang to life and moved with great speed. Some of them removed his panties and wet diaper, while others prepared a fresh one for him. Jack found his legs being lifted off the mat as a new diaper was placed underneath, and more oil and baby powder was applied. When that was done, his butt was lowered onto the fresh diaper and the mechanical hands quickly and firmly wrapped it around him. Almost immediately another pair of hands was placing the panties back over the diaper again. The door at his feet opened, and Jack was moved outside and into the waiting arms of the nanny. She snatched him up, and rubbed her nose again his.
"See, that wasnt so bad, was it?" she grinned. Jack wanted to scream that it was that this whole entire time had been horrible to him. He grabbed the pacifier with both hands and tried to pull it out, but it was a useless effort.
"Come with me, little girl," the nanny sang out, as if Jack really had a choice in the matter. She took him downstairs, and placed him back in the playpen. Then she went to the computer and turned it on. The big screen TV, which also served as the computer monitor, lit up. LuAnn sat down at the keyboard and started typing in an address.
"Oh, I hope the spring dresses are out now," she said eagerly. Jack observed in horror as the nanny brought up some of the prettiest and cutest dresses she could find, and ordered them in his size. "Oh, I cant wait for them to arrive so I can dress you up in them," she giggled in a cold, mechanical way. Thats when the nannys world came crashing in on her.
Jack felt his body changing, as the first step of returning back to his normal size took place. The room began to spin, and the dress he was wearing tore open as his body grew by more then a foot. The mechanical nanny looked on horrified by the event. She rushed over to the playpen and picked him up.
"What happened?" she asked in surprise. She removed the pacifier, allowing Jack to talk.
"What happened is that Im returning back to my regular size you stupid robot," he laughed harshly. "Im going to be a man again, and not even you can prevent that from happening."
"But but I dont want you to become big again," she cried. "I just ordered some lovely dresses for you to wear that I know youll look so cute in. I love you, Donna...youre my little girl. Please dont leave me please!"
"You damn stupid robot, its over," Jack hissed angrily. "By tonight Ill be back to my regular self again, and you cant stop it."
"How did you do this?" the nanny asked. "How did you get to be so small?"
"I took a drug," Jack sneered.
"The same drug I found with your clothes?"
"Yes, thats right," Jack replied, then immediately regretted telling her.
"We must find a way to return you back to your smaller size," the nanny said. "I have to keep you safe from the bad people outside. I love you my dear, little Donna."
"THERE ARE NO BAD PEOPLE," Jack yelled. "I made that up to trick you. Youre a stupid, stupid robot!"
LuAnn felt a twinge of pain in her circuits. Her baby, the one she loved so dearly, was rejecting her and she didnt understand why. Hadnt she tried her best to make her happy? Thats all she wanted to do, make her happy.
"I love you, Donna. I cant let you go without a fight. I need to take care of you." The nanny placed Jack back down in the playpen and turned on the force field. Then she ran up the stairs as if every second counted. Jack heard the robot enter the nursery and run over to where the dresser was. A minute later she came back down the steps holding the drug in her hand. The nanny walked by him, and sat down at the computer.
"What do you think youre doing?" Jack demanded to know.
LuAnn ignored his question, and started searching the Internet. She brought up everything she could on the drug Jack had taken, including its long-term effects. Jack tried to see what the nanny was doing, but she was too fast. The nanny would bring up a file, download it into her memory, and bring up the next file all within a matter of seconds. After a few minutes she pushed herself away from the computer and headed to another room.
"Hey, what about me?" Jack yelled.
The nanny stopped, turned, and smiled. "Its okay Donna, Ill be back soon. And when I do, everything will be okay again.
"Okay? What the hell do you mean by that?" Jack screamed, but the nanny left the room without answering.
Jack didnt like the sound of her words. He sat there in the playpen wearing nothing but the diaper and wondering what that blasted nanny was up to. He tugged at the diaper, but the damn thing was practically indestructible. The only reason why it hadnt ripped open like the dress and petticoat was because it had some slack in certain areas.
There was no sound from the next room for over an hour, and Jack was starting to fall asleep. Then he heard a noise, and peered up from the playpen to see the nanny looking very happy and excited about something. She turned off the force field, and lifted Jack up. Then she showed him a pill.
"Here Donna, I want you to swallow this for me."
Jack laughed defiantly. "No way you damn piece of junk metal. I have a pretty good idea what will happen if I do."
"Pretty please," she asked sweetly. "I promise it wont hurt and if you do swallow it Ill feed you some strained carrots."
Jack made a face. "I hate carrots and Im not going to swallow anything you stupid robot. I want to become a man again."
"Im sorry, but I cant let that happen," she frowned. "I love you, Donna. I love you too much to let you go. I want to care for you. Please take it." LuAnn tried to force the pill into Jacks mouth, but he was able to resist her best efforts. Finally she gave up, and placed the pill on the table next to them. "Please Donna, do this for me! I love you deeply."
"No way you stupid robot. Call the police if you want, but Im not being your plaything another minute longer. Find yourself a new doll!"
"Im sorry, I tried to do this the easy way," LuAnn responded. Jack found himself being rolled over and placed on her lap. The nanny quickly started removing his diaper, leaving the young man to wonder what she was up to. Then he felt the cool touch of an alcohol swab against his rear and he knew.
"WAIT STOP!" he yelled.
"Im sorry, Donna," she explained sadly. "I didnt want to do this, but you left me with no choice."
Jack felt the sharp jab of a needle entering into his butt and screamed. Seconds later LuAnn removed it, after the full contents had been delivered into his body. She rubbed the area with the alcohol swab again, and re-taped the diaper. Jack began to feel strange, and found himself shrinking back to the size he was before. The nanny rolled him over and smiled.
"All back to your regular self," LuAnn giggled with glee. She bent down and kissed him on the forehead. "Im sorry I had to do that, Donna, but it was for your own good."
"What do you plan to do give me a shot ever four hours?" Jack asked angrily.
The nanny smiled, and shook her head. "Of course not, my dear sweet Donna. Just two more over the next eight hours and then well be done."
"Done? What what do you mean done?"
"Ive did some research on the drug you took, and discovered that if you take a massive dose of it three times every four hours, you dont grow into the next stage anymore. Isnt that wonderful, Donna? You can be my baby forever!"
"Youre CRAZY!" Jack screamed. "I dont want to be your baby another minute longer, let alone for the rest of my life."
"I love you, Donna," the nanny smiled, as she slipped the pacifier into Jacks protesting mouth and turned on the force field. "Im going to take good care of you, and make sure you have everything you need to feel safe and happy. Ill never, ever let you go."
Tears formed in Jacks eyes, tears that LuAnn mistook for a different reason. "There, there now baby, its alright. I know youre happy, but you dont need to cry about it. Come on now, lets take you upstairs and get you dressed in another one of your pretty outfits. Youll feel better after youre in your proper clothes again."
LuAnn hugged the crying baby gently, and carried her upstairs.
***********************************************
"Damn, stupid nanny," Tomas Greenwood cursed as he drove up the driveway of his daughters house. Something had gone wrong with LuAnn, because he had just gotten a huge bill for baby food, pampers, and a whole lot of other baby things signed for by her. He knew he shouldve shut her down when they left, but he couldnt bring himself to do so. Now she was malfunctioning, and ordering baby supplies that she didnt need.
His wife sat next to him, a painful look in her eyes as the house her daughter used to live in came into view. Almost five months had passed, but the pain of losing Brooke was as strong as the day the police came to the door to tell them she had been murdered. What made her death even harder to deal with was knowing her killer was out there free, even though the evidence and his confession had proven he was guilty of her murder. The last testament to her daughters life was a slap in the face.
Mr. Greenwood stopped the car in front and helped his wife out. They entered the house, and were greeted by the security drone. It hovered in front of them with a green light, indicating that everything was secure. Thomas dismissed the drone, then looked around. The house looked the same as the last time, maybe even cleaner.
"Well, I think we should find LuAnn and see whats going on," he said sternly. It turned out they didnt have to look. They saw the nanny coming down the steps in her maids uniform holding something in her arms. It looked like a little baby.
"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood," she told them in a pleasant manner.
"LuAnn, what are you holding?" Tomas demanded to know.
"Its my new baby, Donna," she smiled. "Isnt she pretty." She held her up for Mrs. Greenwood to see. The older woman smiled at the little baby girl that was wearing an adorable frilly dress with a matching bonnet, and sucking swiftly on her pacifier.
"Shes lovely," Mrs. Greenwood said, then frown. "Um, where did she come from, LuAnn."
"Well, actually shes a he, and Im hiding him from some bad people. Im pretending shes my new baby to care for."
"WHAT!" Mr. Greenwood shouted. "LuAnn, put that that person down." He was surprised to see the nanny place the baby in the playpen; instead of in front of them like he wanted. She smiled at her baby, then turn on the force field.
"Why did you do that?" Mrs. Greenwood asked.
"Donna has a tendency to try and get away from me," the nanny replied.
Mr. Greenwood swallowed hard that meant there would be a lawsuit. What had LuAnn done? Had she grabbed someone off the street and turned him into a little baby? How could she have done that? He wanted to call his lawyer, but first he had to find out what had happened. "Okay LuAnn, start at the beginning."
"Well Mr. Greenwood, I found this baby girl in Ms. Pattersons room one morning trying to grab her jewelry box. At first I thought she really was a baby girl, but when I gave her a bath I discovered she was neither. He sort of reminded me of Danielle with his long, blonde hair, and since he came here looking like a little girl, I proceeded to dress him in some of Danielles clothes. Thats when he stopped me, and told me his name was Jack Pratt, and that he was trying to hide from some bad people. I later found out that was a lie, that there were no bad people after him."
Mr. Greenwoods blood ran cold. "Did you say his name was Jack Pratt?"
The nanny nodded. "Yes, Mr. Greenwood. Do you know him?"
"Dont you?"
LuAnn shook her head. "No, I dont sir. Who is he?"
"He killed he murdered Brooke," Tomas responded in a low, cold tone. Mrs. Greenwood whimpered at the words.
"He murdered Ms. Patterson? I had no idea, sir. Im sorry, if I had known I wouldve called the police."
"Its okay, LuAnn," he replied. Tomas noticed his wife was shooting an evil glare at the little girl who was standing in the playpen looking at them. "You said you found out he lied to you, so why did you continue all this?" Thats when Mr. Greenwood noticed how sad the robot looked.
"I loved Danielle, sir. Ive been so lonely since you took her away. You dont know how much I missed her. When Donna came into my life I felt a bonding with her. I wanted to feed her and take care of her, and do all the things I used to do with Danielle. I couldnt let her go."
Mr. Greenwood looked sternly but with compassion at the robot standing there with a painful expression. He wasnt one who admitted his mistakes very often, for his smugness had served him well in the medical field. He certainly never thought he would be saying the words to a robot that came out of his mouth next.
"Im sorry, LuAnn. I never thought about how Danielles leaving would affect you. We already had our own nanny at home, and didnt need two. I guess that was pretty thoughtless of me."
"Are you going to take Donna away from me?" the nanny asked sadly.
"I dont know, LuAnn," Mr. Greenwood said gruffly. "Why dont you take um, Donna, outside, while Mrs. Greenwood and I talk it over."
"Yes, sir," she said sadly. "Sir."
"Yes LuAnn."
"I gave him this drug to keep him small." She handed him a piece of paper with the drug she had used. "I really love Donna as my own."
Mr. Greenwood smiled. "Im sure you do, LuAnn. We wont be long." The two of them watched the robot lovingly lift Mr. Pratt out of the playpen and carry him outside, overwhelming him with love and affection.
"We have a serious problem, dont we," his wife said when she saw the expression on her husbands face.
"Very serious Im afraid. The drug LuAnn fixed for him was illegal, and since shes our property, were responsible for her actions."
"But he was trying to steal our daughters things when LuAnn caught him," Mrs. Greenwood argued. "Surely that should count for something."
"Considering how they let him go scott-free for murdering our little girl, I wouldnt bet money on that, dear. Not only are we in trouble for what she did, Mr. Pratt can now turn around and sue us for his current condition."
"Youre joking," his wife snapped in anger.
"I wish I were, dear," Tomas frowned. "He could make up any number of excuses for being here. We both know he came here to steal, but proving it in court is another matter. Wheres the evidence that he took anything? He could claim he was falling, and grabbed hold of the jewelry box just as the nanny came into the room and saw him. Sure, we may be able to get him for trespassing, but so what? The worse he gets is a warning and a fine."On the other hand, itll take thousands of dollars to reverse the effects of the drug, and dont think Mr. Pratt wont sue us for the pain and humiliation LuAnn caused him. A good lawyer will win him millions!"
"But but thats not FAIR!" his wife cried. "He murders our daughter, breaks into her house to steal her belongings, and then gets to sue us when he gets caught."
"The nanny shouldve called the cops, my dear. I know its wrong, but thats the way this will come out. His lawyer will claim we were negligent; that we shouldnt have left the house unsupervised with the robots running. If were lucky, Mr. Pratt may be willing to settle out of court for less money."
"No I wont let that happen," his wife replied. "I would rather see him dead then have him profit from this."
"What can we do, dear? If we kill him, one of the robots will call the police and report it. Thats hard-coded into their system and cant be turned off. Theres no way out of this Im afraid."
"Then why stop it?" she asked.
"What?"
"I said why stop it! Why cant we let things continued as they are?"
"For how long?" Tomas asked.
"For the rest of Mr. Pratts life," she replied bitterly.
"Life as a little baby? Not being able to do the things you want to do, and worse being cared for by a robot that wants nothing more than to make sure all your needs are met as a little baby girl? My dear, that would be a horrible existence to live through."
"More horrible than what that monster did to our daughter?" she asked bitterly. "More unjust than what he will do to us once we release him from the nannys care?" Mr. Greenwood thought carefully about what she had said.
"How long will LuAnn last?" his wife inquired.
"That depends of course," he answered honestly. "LuAnn is like a car. Her normal life span is about 20 years, but if you take care of her, invest money into her, shell last much longer."
"Long enough to take care of Mr. PRATT for the rest of his life?" she asked.
"Oh yes, most definitely," he replied back.
*************************************************
"LuAnn, weve reached a decision," Mrs. Greenwood said. "How would you like to take care of Donna for the rest of her life?"
"You you mean that?" the robot asked.
"Yes, I do. But there will have to be some changes made to your current situation."
"What kind of changes?"
Mr. Greenwood answered that question. "LuAnn, you know that what were suggesting is illegal, dont you? Well be holding Mr. Pratt against his will. As it is, thats already happened by what youve done, and we will be in serious trouble if that fact gets out. If this is to continue, you must promise never to tell anyone about what has happened here otherwise theyll take Donna away from you for good."
"The bad people?" she asked.
"Yes, the bad people," Tomas answered. "But theres a more serious problem to deal with. As you know, real babies grow up. Right now thats not a problem, but it will be if people keep seeing you carrying around the same little baby girl year after year."
"Yes, I understand," she replied. "Can we do anything about it?"
"I think so. The store where you came from sells robot babies for nannies like yourself. Theyre used during the time of in-between births of new babies. The company wants people to believe that if their nanny continues taking care of a baby after their child has out-grown his or her use for you, you wont lose any of your motherly programming or training. Of course its pure bullshit, because youre a robot, and your circuits dont lose any memories over time like humans do. But it gives us parents a peace of mind.
"Now, these babies look and act like real babies, except for the color of their skin. As you know, the government wont allow companies to make you look like real people. That got me thinking theres some medication I can give Donna that will make her skin look pale just like yours. In a nutshell, well make Donna look like one of you."
"And shell never have to grow up," the nanny added excitedly. "I can take care of her day after day, year after year."
"Yes LuAnn, forever and ever," Mrs. Greenwood smiled.
The nanny frowned. "You can make Donna look like me, but what about her voice? The only way I can stop her from talking is to keep something in her mouth."
"I can fix that too," Mr. Greenwood smiled. "Theres some medication we can slip into her formula that will numb her vocal cords. After a few days she wont be able to say anything ever again."
Mrs. Greenwood cut in. "That means you can take her to the park or zoo, LuAnn. Well buy you some pretty dresses, so you dont have to wear that maids uniform anymore. You can be a real mother just like I am; just like Brooke was before she was killed."
"You mean that?"
Mrs. Greenwood sat down next to the robot, and placed her hands on her shoulder. "We do, LuAnn. Oh, theres one more thing. If we do this, youll have to leave this house. We want you to come live with us in Florida and become our, um, adopted daughter. Well, the law wont allow us to adopt you, but in spirit youll be like our daughter."
"Ill get to live with you and Danielle?" LuAnn asked, barely able to contain her excitement.
"Yes, with us," Mr. Greenwood replied.
"When do we leave?"
"Next Sunday thats when you start your new life, LuAnn. Do you know what day that will be?"
"No," the nanny shook her head.
"Mothers Day," Mrs. Greenwood said. "Happy Mothers day, LuAnn."
*********************************************
Epilog 50 years later.
LuAnn sat there cradling her baby one last time. Donna had died quietly in the middle of the night. The robot knew this day would come. Her baby, despite the fact she still looked young, was very old. Danielle, now a middle-age woman herself, sat down next to the robot and her best friend, to comfort her.
"Im sorry, LuAnn," she said tearfully. "Donna looks very peaceful."
"My little angel," LuAnn replied. The robot was also feeling her age, for she had lived well past the prime of her life. True to their words, Mr. and Mrs. Greenwood had made sure LuAnn was maintained until this day. Now even the nanny felt a need to let go.
"I wonder where my little babys at," LuAnn whispered as she peered down at her one last time. She looked back at Danielle, who was staring at her with tears in her eyes. Danielle knew what her friend was going to say next.
"Its time, Danielle. Its time to turn me off, and let me go."
"I I cant." Danielle cried. "I love you, LuAnn. I dont want you to leave me."
"I must, Danielle. Weve had a good life together, raising our children. But I must be buried with my Donna now. We cant wait any longer, otherwise someone may find out about our secret. Please de-activate me, my friend, you know I cant do it myself. Im ready to go Danielle, really I am."
"Oh LUANN." Danielle cried, and threw herself at the nanny. She gave her one last hug and whispered, "Ill miss you." Slowly she reached down and pressed the off button.
As the power slowly drained from LuAnns system, the robot fell asleep, never to wake up again. Her final thoughts were on Donna, and all the good times she had enjoyed with her. The robots only desire for herself was that she had been human, and couldve had a real family like the Greenwoods.
"Goodbye," Danielle whispered softly. "Ill miss you."
***********************************************
Later that same day Danielle stood silently as she watched the casket being lowered into the ground. She wiped the tears away with her handkerchief, and said a prayer for her friend. The undertaker stood close by, silently thinking that anyone who would spend good money to bury a robot in this fashion needed to have their head examined. Still, it was money in his pocket and the woman had spared no expense when picking out some of the finer things he had to offer. He had made sure the robot nanny was wearing her favorite dress and was clutching tightly onto her robot baby. After the woman left, he motioned for his workers to start filling in the grave. On the tombstone it read LuAnn and Donna Greenwood. Underneath the name was a small r. It was required by law to indicate that there were robots, and not humans, buried there.
"What a waste of money," the undertaker said one more time before leaving.
**********************************************
LuAnn watched the world around her slowly turn black, and felt Danielles hold on her slowly slip away until she couldnt feel it anymore.
So this was what it was like to die, she thought to herself. Suddenly a light appeared in the distance. It was a very bright light that was pleasant and not blinding to look at. LuAnn found herself being pulled toward the light at amazing speed, as if she were being shot out of a cannon. She became immersed in the light, then moments later found herself standing in a kitchen.
LuAnn saw that she was wearing her favorite blue and white flower dress that ended several inches above her knee. Her legs were encased in a pair of nude pantyhose, and she was wearing a pair of white, two-inch high heel shoes. Her hair seemed different, and when LuAnn looked in the mirror she saw it was still blonde, but was now much longer and curlier. She looked very feminine dressed this way. Only her pale skin reminded her that she was still a robot.
"Where am I?" she asked.
"A good question," someone replied. LuAnn turned, and saw a beautiful angel dressed in white enter in from outside. She had long, golden hair, and a smile that warmed the nannys insides. "Some would call this heaven, but its not."
"No?" LuAnn questioned. "Then what is this place?"
"Its a place for people like yourself, my dear. When the humans began creating robots with emotions, we were faced with a dilemma of what to do with you. We couldnt let you into heaven, for you didnt have a soul. And yet we couldnt let such warm and feeling entities such as yourself simply disappear. So we created this world. Call it Robot paradise if you wish where all your desires come true."
"But all Ive ever wanted to do was serve and care for others," LuAnn explained. "To make others happy, help out, and be useful."
"Like everyone else of your kind," the angel smiled warmly. "Humans couldve learned a great deal from you if they had only opened their eyes. However, there was one thing you did desire for yourself. Something personal, wasnt there?"
"To to be human," the nanny replied. "To actually feel emotions the way they did, not just the way my programming required me to act. To actually cry and laugh, and have it have meaning."
"Yes," the angel smiled. "And so your wish shall come true." She waved her hand, and suddenly LuAnn felt different. Her skin was soft and warm, not like before. It was real. She felt a beating in her chest a heart, a real heart.
"Yes, its real," the angel answered as if she could read LuAnns mind. "Youre now human inside and out, but without the selfish feelings they hold within. Your desire to serve and care for others still exists as always."
LuAnn frowned. "But but who do I take care of?"
"Im glad you asked," the angel smiled. She made a motion with her hand, and a young woman came in pushing a baby carriage.
"Ms. Patterson!" LuAnn shouted in complete surprise.
"Hello, LuAnn," the young lady smiled back. "When I heard you had arrived, I had to see you again. I wanted to thank you for taking care of me and my daughter during those few short months when we were together on Earth. Im sorry things didnt work out as planned, but life is like that."
"Is this your baby?" LuAnn asked.
Brooke laughed joyfully. "Oh no, my dear LuAnn. This is your baby. Come, take a look."
The young woman peered into the carriage and let out a joyful sound. "DONNA!" She reached down and lifted Jack up, and gave him a big hug. Jack was dressed in a simple, pink sleeper that bulged out where the diaper was. "I cant believe its really you."
"There are many more of your friends here, LuAnn," the angel explained. "To make your life more normal, weve supplied you with a husband, so the two of you can have well, youll find out later."
"And baby makes three," Brooke giggled, as she watched the person who had murdered her squirm in the nannys arms with confusion. What did all this mean to him?
"You can take her to the park whenever you want," the angel added, "or have a mommy day, and invite other mommys over and do all kinds of mother/child things together. Itll be so much fun. And even though this world will never end LuAnn, youll never get bored. Youll get to do all the things you always wanted to do with your baby, over and over and over again."
Jacks eyes went wide with the realization of what was being said. This may have been heaven for LuAnn, but it was his hell. Every moment of his afterlife would be spent being cared for by this person as if he were her child. Caught in a world of eternal babyhood with no escape. He tried to beg not to be left here, but all that came out was a gurgling sound. His mother laughed, and kissed him on the cheek.
"Did you hear that, Donna?" she said cheerfully, unaware of the negative impact it was having on her daughter. "I get to take care of you forever and ever and ever. I love you so much." She kissed Jack again, then gave him a hug. "Come on now, lets get you dressed in the prettiest outfit I can find and show you off. Oh, I cant wait to meet the other mommys here. Say goodbye to the nice ladies, Donna." LuAnn held up Jacks hand and waved it at them.
Brooke and the angel smiled as they left the room. Both of them were getting what they wanted. LuAnn was now the mother she always wanted to be, and Jack was living a life free of responsibility.
"I always thought hell was fire and brimstone," Brooke remarked.
"There are many types of Hell," the angel replied, then added, "as Mr. Pratt is finding out. Its a shame he never repented for his evil ways. Hell never be happy here, even though hes getting exactly what he desired in life a pretty young woman to take care of him for the rest of his life in this case eternity."
Brooke nodded at the irony of the situation. "By the way, you never did tell me if you changed him into a real girl."
"No, I didnt," the angel smiled mischievously. "We should go now, and let them bond."
The two joined hands and flew out the door singing songs of joy.
The end
