Freedom

by Jennifer White

The Berlin wall fell. Communism collapsed in the USSR. The eastern block was free from 'the iron curtain'. However, some of the smaller countries failed to gain their full freedom. They were no longer under the thumb of the Soviets, but they were still run by powerful dictators, and the people suffered.

The government of the United States had always run covert programs in oppressed countries, trying to help stir up freedoms from within. Get the people united around the cause. Show them what is possible. Get them to apply pressure from within.

That way, the pressure from the rest of the world combined with the internal pressures could be enough to snap the regime, without having to fire a single shot. It was much better than war, and caused so much less of a stir within the international community. Not to mention how much less it cost in dollars and American lives.

One such small country was Petrova. Not found on any but the most current map, it used to be a Soviet republic. The Russians had left now, but their oppressive ways remained behind. It was to his hostile environment that the CIA sent William Fruling. "Bill" as his friends called him had a mother who hailed from Petrova, so he spoke the language perfectly, in the native dialect.

He had been an operative for 14 years, and had excelled at his job. He went through six months of special training for the mission, then was deployed. In order to fit in better with the locals, he was given the alias of Boris Mirnov. With just his suitcase in hand, he boarded the plane from Amsterdam, heading back to the birthplace of his mother...

* * *

An agent sent underground to stir up trouble has many challenges. The first one is to find a place in society. He needs to have a job first of all. Someone not working is easier to pick out. So he got a job in a local factory, making shell casings for Kalashnikov rifles.

He then needs to be undetectable to the Internal Security Service (ISS) which make the former KGB look lenient by comparison. Since 'Boris' spoke the language fluently, with a perfect dialect, he fit right in. He had the right looks, and knew all of the local customs. The CIA had chosen well when they assigned him to the case.

Next, the agent needs to be able to understand the local political scene, and find the hidden power brokers. His training enabled him to do this, so within six weeks he knew who was the leader of the local Mafia, the officials who were able to be bribed, those that were really operatives for the ISS, and those who are neutral.

Lastly, he needs to find any local organization already in place, which he can infiltrate and take a leadership role in. They will already have many of the resources in place that would take him years and years to amass. He found just such a group in The People's Liberation Front. The PLF was small, yet fanatical to the cause of bringing down the oppressive government. They wanted democracy and freedom as much as the Americans did. They were the ideal group for Boris to work with.

* * *

At first, Boris merely followed along with the efforts that the PLF organized. Printing illegal leaflets, and posting them on trees in the park. Or slipping them under people's doors, leaving them on the subway, or other places where they were sure to be seen by many. But of course, not get caught while doing it. That was punishable by death, or worse. There were rumors of the tortures carried out by the ISS.

The PLF also funded an illegal underground radio station. Among other things, it broadcast the real news about what was going on in the world. Not the version delivered by the state. Radio Petrova was well known for only telling part of the story, and misleading the average citizen who had no access to outside sources. Radio Free Petrova from the PLF on the other hand, told it like it was. They had stories of the corruption in government, both locally and in Russia. They told of good things happening in the West, not the propaganda of the state.

And most of all, they played music. The latest western dance music, hip hop, and other forms banned by the state. Young listeners would sit through the political news for a chance to hear the exciting sounds. State run radio only played local ethnic music, which they found old and boring.

Boris had smuggled many of the latest CDs with him when he arrived, which he gave to the DJ. This made him a popular figure with the PLF right from the start. He soon rose up in stature and rank, and within six months, he was organizing events himself, with the others gladly following.

* * *

For about one year, all was well. The PLF was reaching more and more people. It was estimated that Radio Free Petrova had more listeners than the state run stations. They had to move around all the time, and use different antennae on different frequencies. But this made it almost like a game, to find their signal every night.

Boris organized many daring raids on government facilities, and was even thinking of a mass protest. If 50 people went on a march, the ISS would smash it. But if 50,000 were marching? It would take the army to stop it. Any brutality on their part could be the spark for revolution. Freedom hung in the balance. Everything was going according to plan.

Boris had a personal assistant named Nikola. She was hard working, dedicated, and even more fanatical about the cause than he was. She was single, so besides her dull factory job, she devoted all of her time to the PLF. They became close, and eventually became lovers as well.

She was indispensable to him, and as soon as the assignment was over, he would ask her to marry him. He longed to tell her his real story, but he was too well trained to let his emotions get the best of him. But he felt that by holding back something that important from her, he was almost cheating on her in a way. This pained him in his heart. It was something he just had to handle.

However, one day there was a problem at the PLF: a crew was sent out to post flyers in the park overnight. But in the morning, not only was the park flyer-free, the crew never returned. Everyone laid low for a while, and when they reassembled for the first time, they discussed the possibilities.

"Have we been compromised?" asked Nikola.

"I'm the last recruit, and it certainly wasn't me" said Boris, looking her right in the eye.

"I believe you dear" she said.

After some discussion, it was decided that they crew must have been unlucky, and must have been stumbled on by an agent from the ISS. They were mourned, but the PLF had to get back to business.

* * *

A few weeks later, there was another setback. The ISS raided a seemingly empty office building, and confiscated transmission equipment, and half of the CDs they owned. Again, there was much debate.

"Were they tipped off, or did they find the location through detection?" asked one.

"They could have triangulated the source of the radio waves" said Boris. "If they had the right equipment."

"If that is the case, than Radio Free Petrova is doomed. They'll pick off our stations one by one" said Nikola.

This seemed to be the case, because over the next week, their other five transmitters were located and destroyed. Their DJs were arrested, and their music gone.

One of their DJs appeared on TV a few weeks later, recanting his story.

"What I did was wrong. I tried to expose the masses to the evil decadent music from the west. I do not deserve to live" he said.

"They brainwashed him!" declared Nikola. "Sergie would never say that! What did those monsters do to him?"

"I don't know, but we need to be careful. Our best tool has been ruined. We need to get out and do more work by hand" said Boris.

So it was back to the grunt work, trying to get the grassroots effort going. After a few days, Boris had an idea.

"Look. The young people are very upset that our radio station has been taken off the air. Why don't we get a huge rally going downtown? I bet we could get thousands to turn out. If the people on the street see thousands of protesters, they might be willing to join in too. We could turn this around, and make our biggest defeat into our biggest victory!"

Everyone cheered. It was a grand idea. The planning started right away.

* * *

All was set. Friday night, the masses would assemble, and march on the mayors office, downtown, requesting that the radio station be restarted. Each PLF member had commitments from hundreds of people to be there. This was going to get the ball really rolling.

But Friday afternoon, something was wrong. Boris went to see the forklift driver who was bringing his friends from the university. He wasn't at work. He also looked for the janitor who's brother was in a youth gang. They had been recruited to show up as well, but the janitor was missing.

Immediately, Boris knew something was wrong. He had to warn the others. This was no coincidence. He called Nikola first. A call to his lover would not raise suspicions, even if they were listening in. They spoke in code.

"Nikola, how is your day my love?" he said. A code that there was trouble.

"Oh, the usual darling" she replied. Meaning: tell me more.

"That's nice. Will I see you early tonight?" Meaning: we need to change plans.

"No, I have to work." This was a signal that she understood, and would work on it.

"All right. See you at home." In other words, meet at the PLF.

On his next break, Boris also called Vladimir, and in code, told him that they were a no-go for the night. He also tried another PLF member, risking the call, but there was no answer. Damn. They might have gotten to Alexander already.

Boris was eager for the work day to end, but it seemed to take forever. Finally, he met up with Nikola at the rendezvous point, and waited for the others.

Nobody showed.

* * *

After an hour, they sneaked out, and headed for the park. It was crowded this time of night, and they could blend it. They kept one eye out for security, and another for friends. They saw neither. Until almost an hour later. They spotted Ivan. Two men walked with him, one of whom held something to his back. A gun? They didn't try to find out. The went the other direction, and hid in the woods.

Back deep in the woods was a small cave which they had set up as a 'safe house' if they needed to disappear for a few days. It was stocked with food and water, radios and supplies. It appeared untouched, so they went inside.

"Nikola, it pains me, but I must tell you something. I have a way to get to America. I want for us to leave tonight. I love Petrova, but we must leave. It is too dangerous here right now."

"No. I will not leave my country. You can go flee, but I will remain behind."

"Nikola! We can return later. But they have arrested so many! The will be looking for us!"

"No, they are looking for you. I found this today" she said, handing him a crumpled piece of paper. It showed the names of the top ten most wanted in Petrova. Number four on the list: Boris Mirnov.

"How did you get that?" he asked.

"The ISS who arrested Alexander had it on them. It fell in the struggle. You are the one who is in deep trouble my love. It is you who must hide. Go ahead, leave the country."

"No Nikola. I will not leave this place without you. Please come with me!"

"No. I stay. If will not go."

"Then I will stay too."

"You are in danger. We must hide you. My aunt lives out in the country. I am due a vacation. Come with me. We can stay with her far from the city where all of the heat is."

They walked to the edge of town, and rode in the car Boris had purchased, until the reached a small farming town. Nikola traded the car for a horse, and they continued on down the winding country road.

It was morning, and they were exhausted. But they were less than ten miles from her aunt's home. When the arrived, they were warmly greeted. They were so tired that they immediately went to sleep, even before they ate.

* * *

In the morning, Boris and Nikola had a good meal for the first time in a day. They were safe for now. The ISS didn't have enough resources to cover the entire countryside. But there was always the threat of a raid.

Boris stayed indoors, so that not even the neighbors would spot him. They could not afford for anyone to know that a strange man was staying at the farmhouse. Word of that could reach the wrong ears. After a few days, he felt so cooped up! He and Nikola had to sleep in separate bedrooms. He missed the feel of her body. And he felt like a prisoner, except at night when they could go out for long walks together, if the moon wasn't too full in the sky.

One day, Nikola's aunt had some news for them.

"In town, there is word that the ISS seeks a man who has fled the city. They tell us that ISS agents are going town to town. You will not be safe here for long.

"But we can't go back to the city. It is worse there" said Nikola.

"I will leave. I don't want to endanger you. I'll take my chances in the woods."

"You are a city boy. You will be eaten by bears, or freeze. No, you must stay here" said Nikola.

"But then I'll be caught, and you will be in trouble for hiding me."

"Perhaps there is a way" said Nikola's aunt.

She ran off to her bedroom. Boris looked at Nikola, who just shrugged her shoulders. A few minutes later, Aunt Karina returned.

"Here, put these on" she said, holding out some folded clothes to Boris. Did she think that peasant clothes would fool the ISS?

But he had to humor her. So he went into the bedroom, pulled the curtain closed, and laid the clothes out on the bed. He was shocked when he saw what she had brought him. They weren't clothes for a peasant man. They were clothes for a peasant *woman*.

"Come on Boris, lets see!" said Nikola teasingly.

"No way! They'll see me and...."

"Boris, do this for me" she said.

Reluctantly, he put on the clothes. Apparently, they hadn't invented bras yet in the countryside. They had a large corset, which he struggled to get into. Next were long white socks, more like hose than anything else. Finally, a peasant dress and a bonnet. He looked in the mirror and laughed. He looked like a man!

But fifteen minutes later, after Aunt Karina and Nikola made some adjustment, put in some padding, and had him put on a wig which Karina's sister used when she lost her hair during her cancer treatments, the mirror told a different story. Boris looked like a somewhat stocky ungraceful country girl.

"You need a good shave, and you need some lessons. But we can work with you....Nadia."

"Nadia?"

"A good name for a country girl" said Aunt Karina.

The rest of the day, Boris received a type of training he never thought he would. How to put on makeup. How to act like a girl. How to curtsey to an official. How to walk. How to fool them into thinking he really was Nadia.

It would take many days of training before he would feel confident in his new role.

* * *

"Good morning girls" said Aunt Karina. "We need to take the harvest to market today. Nadia will make her public appearance."

"I don't know..." said Nadia.

"I'm sure you're ready. This will be fun. Lets try to fool these country folks first. Then we can try to fool the ISS later."

"All right, we'll try" said Nadia unenthusiastically.

It turned out that Nikola was right. Nadia was able to fool the locals. Nobody blinked when they saw Nadia. She was just a plain country girl, and nobody would have suspected for even a moment that she was a man. Boris felt embarrassed to be in public wearing a dress, and felt like a fool. But after half an hour, he was getting used to it.

After having been cooped up for so long in the house, it felt wonderful to go outside. Over the next few days, 'Nadia' went out, again and again. Soon 'she' was becoming known by the locals. Boris thought it was funny that there were folks in town who only knew him as a woman.

He had been well trained, and he applied all of his skills to his new role as Nadia. It was important when you took on a new persona, that you think of yourself as that person. So he worked every day to think of himself as a woman named Nadia. In time, he thought of himself as 'she' and 'her'. The name Boris was forgotten from her mind, and she though of herself as Nadia all the time.

Nikola was very helpful. She told Nadia that her rough skin might be a giveaway. She gave Nadia creams for her face to help make the skin look smooth. She taught Nadia how to better apply makeup by herself, so she could make her face more attractive. Nadia grew her nails long, and Nikola taught her how to apply nail polish.

Nadia took to wearing jewelry as well. She was looking more and more like a woman. She was improving her voice, to sound more and more feminine as well. Nikola provided a cream which she applied to her face and her chest, to remove the existing hair, and to slow its growth too. She wanted to use it on her legs to save work, but Nikola insisted that shaving her legs was part of the female experience, and she had better do it.

Nikola also gave her a special cream that she told Nadia to rub onto her nipples every night.

"This will make your chest swell, just a little. It is temporary. As soon as you stop using the cream, it will go back to normal. But we might need you to wear something more revealing at some point. You don't want your chest to look like a man's, and give you away, do you?"

"Of course not" said Nadia.

Their relationship had also taken a turn. Nikola had become the dominant personality. When they made love, she was always on top, with Nadia being the passive obedient one. She was getting used to taking orders from Nikola, doing exactly what she wanted, they way she wanted, and when she wanted.

They both worked for the cause still, and Nadia hoped they were rebuilding the organization that the ISS had torn down. One day soon, they would be able to go back to the city, and start bigger and bigger programs. Nadia was feeling more and more confident in her new female persona, and she felt that she would soon be able to fool the city folks as well.

"But if you go to the city, you need to dress in city clothes" said Nikola.

"How will that be different?" asked Nadia.

"Instead of these long peasant gowns, you will need to wear something more revealing. Shorter skirts. Blouses that show off your body. Remember how I dressed back there? How you could see my cleavage sometimes? You will need to dress like that.

"I would need a whole new wardrobe" said Nadia, excited at the thought. She was getting tired of the long shapeless peasant garb. Fashionable western clothes sounded exciting to her. She wondered how it would feel to wear high heel shoes.

Nikola went out on a trip, and came back with new clothes for Nadia. She eagerly tried on the dresses and the skirts, and smiled as she looked at herself in the mirror. These clothes showed off the female body so much better. She could tell where she had work to do, and where she needed to improve before she would be ready for the city.

Nikola also found through one of her contacts, the latest list of who the ISS was looking for. It consisted of all men, with his old male name of 'Boris' near the top. They had them fooled! They weren't looking for women at all.

In time, Nadia realized that if she was to fool the people in the city, she would need something better 'up top' than she had. The cream that Nikola gave her might make her breasts larger in time, but they were way too small. She looked like she had a man's chest, and she looked sadly at her dress, with the cups that should be full hanging limp and empty. She had to do something.

"I want implants" she told Nikola.

"No you don't!"

"Look Nikola, as I am today, they can pick me out. But if I have breasts, they'd be fooled. I can't wear this dress with nothing to support it. Just look at me! My chest looks like a man's chest. No, I really need implants. But I can't just go to some doctor."

"I know a man, he has retired out here, but he used to be a plastic surgeon" she said.

"Can we trust him?" asked Nadia.

"I have known him for years. He used to work with me at one point. I trust him completely" she said.

* * *

It took two weeks for Nikola to line up the doctor and the needed supplies, as well as a location to perform the surgery. There was an animal hospital which they would use, with a sterile surgical room. They waited until after nightfall, and made their way through the woods to the hospital.

Dr. Romanov was waiting for them, and ushered them in. He looked around, nervous that the duo might have been followed. Nadia though had been careful. She knew how to be careful not to pick up a tail. They were safe.

Nadia undressed, and put on a hospital gown that Dr. Romanov had brought with him. As usual, it didn't cover everything, and she felt embarrassed that it didn't cover the whole back. She laid on a table, with her head propped up by a pillow.

The doctor gave her a shot, and she felt relaxed.

"Before we begin, it will take some time for the muscle relaxer to fully take effect. Only then will I administer the gas to put you out. Watch this video while you wait. You will find it quite relaxing."

Nadia nodded her head weakly, and watched the mesmerizing pattern on the screen. "Why did they have a TV in here?" she wondered.

* * *

Nadia woke up with a start, and realized that she was lying in a recovery room of some sort. When things became clearer, she realized that she was back at Aunt Karina's house. She moved her incredibly sore arm, and touched her chest. She felt her new large breasts and smiled. They were bigger than she imagined that they would be. They were sore and sensitive, but she knew that once they healed, she would be able to pass herself off as a real woman, even in the city.

She was sore all over, and very tired. She looked up, and the TV was showing the relaxing video like they had at the hospital. Soon, her eyes glazed over watching it, and she drifted in and out of sleep.

* * *

Nadia woke up, and felt her chest again. She was much less sore now, and the bandages were gone! She looked at her beautiful full breasts with glee. She felt so....*female*! So feminine! They were just wonderful. She caressed them, and wondered what it would feel like to have a man do that to her.

She looked up at the TV, and was entranced at the video. She watched for what must have been hours.

The tape came to the end, and after staring at the blank screen for a while, she realized that it was over. She was incredibly hungry. How long had it been since she had eaten?

Nikola walked into the room, and was about to rewind the tape, when she noticed that Nadia was awake.

"Nadia! You're back with us!"

"Nikola! How long have I been out?"

"A week."

"A week? Just to recover from minor plastic surgery?"

"It wasn't minor Nadia" she said, almost grimly.

"What do you mean Nikola?" asked Nadia, still unaware at the extent of her alterations.

Nikola knocked on the wall, and a man entered the room. He was tall, dressed in a dark suit. There was an ID card clipped to his jacket pocket. It identified him as ISS.

Nadia was stunned. What was going on? The man pulled the covers off of Nadia's bed.

"Look" he said.

Nadia looked, and saw her naked breasts. They were so wonderful! So full! So firm! She couldn't wait to get into a dress to show them off! She wanted to wear a bra! She would look so womanly with them!

But then her eyes drifted lower, down her body. There, between her legs, past her narrow tummy, at the center of her wide hips, it was. Her pussy.

A small mound of flesh resided between her legs now, with an inviting slit. Nadia stared at it, and felt a strange sensation tug within her. She looked up at the man who was starting to take his clothes off, and her heart raced.

When he was down to just his boxers, she realized that more than anything, she wanted him! How was this possible? When she saw him naked, all that she could focus on was his manhood. She needed him! She had to have him!

"Come on baby, come to mamma. I want you!" she found herself saying, to her amazement. What was going on? She was confused!

As he mounted her and started to thrust into her vagina, she moaned with pleasure. It was the best feeling she ever had in her life! She didn't want it to end! She felt the warm splash of his orgasm, she squealed.

"Oh yes! Yes! Put it to me! Oh, you're so big!" she said.

"Do you know who I am?" asked the man.

"You're my lover" she replied.

"I am ISS."

"And I am your woman" said Nadia. She felt love for him.

Nikola walked over, holding a video camera in her hand. The man got off of her, pulled on his boxers, and started to dress again. Nadia felt so disappointed. She didn't want it to end! She wanted more sex, and she wanted it now!

"You see, Dr. Romanov was one of us" said the man. "Nikola made you think you were there for just minor surgery, but it was for a full gender reassignment operation" he said.

He looked at Nikola and smiled.

"Then we used our mind control techniques on you. You will find that you are now incapable of doing anything by making love to men all day. It is all you want, all you need. You will find a brothel, and happily start your new career."

"You didn't even know that I've had you on female hormones for months now, did you?" asked Nikola. "They have altered your body and your brain chemistry. It was *your* idea to get breast implants, wasn't it? Yes, the effects of the *female* hormones you have in your veins now."

Nadia was stunned.

"We will send this tape to your CIA, and show them what we do to their spies" said Nikola.

"Nikola, what about our cause?" said Nadia, still stunned.

"Your cause. I have mine" she said, clipping her own ISS badge onto her blouse.

"You...." said Nadia helplessly.

"Yes. I penetrated the PLF organization. *I* was the one who tipped off the authorities as to your illegal activities. *I* had the radio stations raided. And now *I* have brought you to the ISS as a trophy."

"There are many who want to screw over the Americans. They will now start to screw you. Do you think that your CIA will dare to send another agent if they think they may end up like you?"

"You will be taken to a sex house now, where you will serve out the remainder of your days. We have reprogrammed your mind. All you want is constant sex. Isn't that right?"

Just the word 'sex' sent Nadia's mind into a tailspin. She needed a man, and she needed one now!

Nikola's mission was accomplished. CIA agent William Fruling was now Nadia Mirnov, a woman who worked in a sex house, and who wanted nothing more than to be constantly on her back with a customer. She smiled. The CIA was no longer a threat.

Nadia was nervous and upset, but excited about her new career. She couldn't wait for her first customer. She needed it! Now! Her feminine sexual needs were the main driver in her life now. She was a nymphomaniac, and she would be in bed on her back for the remainder of her days.
