The Computer

This is the first in a series of loosely related stories that will take the reader into a new realm of cyber space. One in which Fairy Godmother has become addicted to working her will on the web with a magical computer. Maybe You may think twice about reading so much of these the TG stories, or maybe you will want to read more. <giggle>.

The Beginning.

Mike Davenport had been doing his usual monthly reading of the offerings on Fictionmania. He had been doing this ever since he had picked up the computer from a woman dealer at the local flea Market. This was to be his play computer. Mike did not want to get his business data mixed up with anything else so an additional cheap computer had seemed like the answer.

It was amusing stuff but being a pragmatic, he really didn't believe all that hoopla about how you could get transformed into a girl by just reading the material on that website.

He had a complete collection of the stories posted on the website on his hard drive. He had set everything up so that he could emulate Fictionmania without actually going online. He only made the link to the website about one a month to add any new stories that had been posted since his last visit.

Completing his latest downloads, and satisfied that his file count matched that given by the website, Mike settled back to read the latest offerings.

He loaded up an interesting story with the strange title called "You Asked For It. By: Fairy Godmother".

While the story loaded, Mike went into the kitchen to fix himself a drink and get a bowl of microwave popcorn. As he turned on the microwave with its little blue pouch inside, he became aware of the strange noise that his oven was making. It only lasted a few seconds then stopped. "Damn, I hope this thing isn't about to crap out, can't afford any more expenses this month." He said out loud to himself.

A few minutes later, popcorn firmly in one hand and a rum and coke in the other, Mike went back into his den and sat in front of his computer. The screen had gone blank. This was not unusual since he had purchased the new monitor with it's power saver function. He moved his mouse which would bring the screen to life. Nothing happened at first. The hard drive made a few clicking sounds and then the monitor screen came to life with a strange pink phosphorescent glow. The glow only lasted a few seconds and then his desktop page appeared with no apparent adverse effects. "Strange, must be some sort of interference." Mike mumbled to himself.

Mike took a sip of his drink and a popped a few kernels of popcorn into his mouth, then concentrated on the screen.

Mike paid little attention to the light headedness that he was feeling. Instead he put on his reading glasses and leaned closer to the screen. His discomfort went away as fast as it had come.

For the next hour Mike read the story. It was about a man who had always wished that he had been born a girl. The story told of his finding a magic lamp and that when he rubbed it a genie had appeared and had granted his wish by turning him into the beautiful little girl.

At the end of his reading, Mike decided to call it a night. Reading stories was just the 'medicine' to get him sleepy and true to form he felt his eyelids starting to droop. As he was about to close out the file he was a little surprised to see a message prompt on his screen.

"You Asked For it." Appeared in large bold letters. "Please enter your name:..... the computer prompted. Mike played along and entered his full name at the prompt.

"Michael Martin Haley" Mike typed into the computer.

There was a pause and the screen went blank. A few seconds later the screen came back on with the response.....

"Welcome: Michelle Mary Haley. Do You Want To Continue?" Caution: This "routine" will Transform You Forever If You Answer: Yes.

Mike laughed at the joke that the author had apparently built into her story.

"True to Fictionmania anyway. What the heck." Thought Mike. He answered Yes to the prompt.

Nothing happened for a few seconds as the hard drive clicked away.

Then a message appeared on the screen.

Michelle, did you believe the message printed at the end of this story? That it would transform you forever? Type Y for Yes, N for No.....

Mike laughed again at the author's wit. Mike typed "Y"

"Would you like to be transformed into a girl similar to the one in the story you last read?" 'Type "Y" for Yes Type "N" to delete this sub-program.'

Mike was really laughing now. Playing along with the program, Mike typed "Y"

The screen went blank again for a few seconds. The hard drive apparently responding to the program's calculations.

When the screen finally came back to life it displayed a pretty pink background with delicate little flowers around the edge. A message in pastel blue said:

--GRANTED--

YOU WILL START TRANSFORMING 48 HOURS FROM NOW. PLEASE BE AT THIS MONITOR IN EXACTLY 48 HOURS YOU WILL RECEIVE ONE LAST CHANCE TO CANCEL AT THAT TIME THE

TRANSFORMATION WILL OCCUR OVERNIGHT

The computer screen displayed the time 10:35 pm for about 15 seconds and then went blank and the system shut itself off.

Mike continued to laugh. The story was boring but at least the author had put in a cute ending. The little executable file had made the story worth reading after all, he thought. Subconsciously Mike thought of what it would be like to be a little girl and what he would like to look like if it was true what the computer had displayed.

Shaking his head to clear out the fantasy, Mike subsequently forgot all about the program as he got up from his desk and headed for the shower.

He had a lot scheduled the following morning and "Fictionmania" stories was not one of his priorities.

Maybe had he known what was in store for him, he would have reloaded the story and answered the questions differently.

The following 24 hours were as usual, hectic. This was all part of his normal weekday schedule. His position as a Senior Accountant kept him quite busy during the day and his tensions were usually high by the end of the day and it was not unusual to be after 6 PM before he left his office for the trip home.

Mike called his fiancee , Anne-Marie during the morning and set up a date for that evening for dinner. He normally did not see her much until the weekends due to her schedule as a second shift nurse at the local hospital, but today he had felt overly stressed out and needed her companionship as a means to unwind. Ann-Marie had that persona that always seemed to act as a tranquilizer for his tensions. It had been Anne-Marie that had told Mike about the fun stuff on Fictionmania and that it was good for him as a therapeutic for his stress. She agreed to take an extended lunch that evening between 8 and 10 pm. They arraigned to meet at the Chinese Restaurant near the hospital. Mike left his office at 7:15 PM. He hailed a cab and headed for his date. When he walked into the restaurant he had "one terrific" headache. As stressed out as Mike sometimes got, he never got headaches. This was something new. It had started right after shutting his computer off the previous evening.

As he walked into the restaurant he saw Anne-Marie sitting in a booth at the rear of the dining area. He told the Hostess that greeted him that he would be joining the young lady, pointing in Anne-Marie's direction.

Anne-Marie looked radiant. At twenty four, She looked more like an eighteen year old. Even in the subdued light of the restaurant Mike was aware of her beauty. "God am I a lucky man to have her." He thought to himself. Mike was aware of the first stirrings of desire as he walked over towards the table. Anne did not see him as he approached and as Mike came up to her from behind he leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.

"Hi beautiful. Hope you didn't have to wait long." Said Mike.

Anne-Marie looked up at him and smiled. She grabbed him by his tie that had hung loose from his shirt. Gently pulling him toward her she planted a sensuous kiss on his lips.

"For you dear, no wait is too long." She said as she released her grip on his tie. "Actually, I just got here about ten minutes ago." She continued. "Mike you look terrible. Are you alright?"

"I think so. I just got a terrific headache. Probably just a little reaction from the pressure of the job. Nothing to worry about. A little food in the stomach should take care of that." Mike replied.

"To much time in front of those computers you use. Your probably starting to get eye strain. Maybe a trip to the optometrist is in order." Said Anne-Marie.

"Maybe. But not until next week at the earliest. I have a hell of a schedule for the next couple of days. I have a proposal to finish up for one of our top clients. That account could go to six figures."

"I see. How about if I set up something with one of the doctors at the hospital and you could come in some evening after work." Said Anne-Marie

"Ok, ok. You win again. Set something up and I'll be there." Mike said feigning irritation. "Now lets eat and let me just sit here and look at my beautiful lady."

"Why thank you kind Sir. I'm very flattered." Anne-Marie said smiling.

For the next hour or so Mike and Anne-Marie were content to discuss general details about their wedding. They did not plan to marry for another six months but Anne-Marie took every opportunity that she could to discuss the plans.

It was soon time to leave as Anne-Marie had to return to work and Mike needed to get home and get some sleep for the next day's round of meetings and planning for the presentation to the client. Mike paid the bill and escorted Anne-Marie the short walk back to the hospital. Mike then walked back to his car, and went home.

***

When Mike walked into his apartment, He poured a light mix of Scotch and water. Took the drink with him into the bedroom. He undressed and headed for the shower. Finishing up in the bathroom, Mike donned a clean pair of boxer shorts, took another sip of his drink and went to bed. He was asleep in a matter of minutes. Mike never noticed that his computer came on all by itself. For a few seconds the screen emitted a pretty pink glow. In the center of the screen almost invisible in a slightly darker shade of pink was printed the words: "Emissions Completed" The computer shut itself off a few seconds later.

That night Mike dreamed about a beautiful little girl with the prettiest blue eyes and long golden trusses. She wore a pretty pink and white pinafore.

She seemed very happy as she played jump rope in a small lovely little park.

Anne-Marie was there sitting on a bench nearby just watching and smiling at the girl as she played.

***

Mike awoke with a 'start' as the morning news blared forth from the clock radio on his night stand. "Good morning America. It's 7:30 AM and here is the local news." Came the announcement from the radio.

Mike stirred slowly. He listened to the radio news program as he allowed his mind to adjust to the necessity of getting up and starting a new day. After a few minutes he swung is legs out over the edge of the mattress, sat up, and reached over and shut off the radio. He got off the bed and went into the kitchen and started the coffee maker. He went into the bathroom and commenced his morning ritual there.

By the time Mike had finished his bodily needs and got dressed, he returned to the kitchen and poured a liberal size cup of coffee and went into the den to check his E-Mail.

Mike was sure he had shut off the computer the previous evening but there it was, up and running with a bold message on the screen.

"MICHELLE, DON'T FORGET TO BE HERE AT THE COMPUTER TONIGHT AT 10:35PM AS SCHEDULED."

Mike had forgotten all about that little sub-program that had run after reading the TG story the other evening. He laughed at the ingenuity of the author. This was apparently an additional sub-program that continued the charade. Mike decided that he would have to make sure he was at the screen at the designated time to see what else this ingenious author had "cooked" up. It was Anne Marie's night off and he would also ask her to come over. He would tell her about the story. She would get a "kick" out of it as well. Then afterwards they could go to bed and make mad passionate love.

Mike finished reading his E-mail and shut off the computer. He called Anne-Marie and asked her to come over that evening and after talking for a few minutes and telling her about the crafty program and what it was doing to his computer and listening to her wonderful and pleasant laugh, he hung up the phone and headed to the office and another hectic day.

+++

Anne-Marie, after finishing her conversation with Mike turned on her computer and connected to Fictionmania. She found the story that Mike had made reference to. It had been posted within that last seven days. She read the story and as she was about to shut down the system, a message appeared on her screen. It was an Instant Message from Fairy Godmother. She engaged in a conversation with the sender for about a half hour. When she was done she went to bed and immediately forgot all about the conversation.

+++

In the recess of his mind Mike thought of the program of the other evening and how nice it would be if he really was the little girl in the story. At least he thought he would not have to worry about these damned meetings and all the pressures of work. As fast as he thought about these things they passed out of his mind as he walked into the main doors of the office building that housed his accounting firm.

The day's activities passed as usual with Mike delving into the various and sundry activities and problems. He completed his series of meetings in a very satisfactory way and it was close to 6:30 pm when he finally finished up and headed for home. He was pleased with himself. His successful closing of two new accounts had netted him close to two thousand dollars in new commissions and bonuses. "A very profitable day indeed." He thought to himself as he drove his car out of the garage and onto the main street.

+++

During her day off Anne-Marie used the time to do some shopping. She was looking forward to a very pleasant evening with Mike and the promise of what it would bring. Her first stop was at the beauty salon. She had been putting off getting a perm and a professional manicure due to the pressures of her job. Now seemed an appropriate time to get it done. She wanted to look her best for tonight. Mike was so kind and gentle with her. He was after all the best thing that had ever happened to her short of having children, which was her one great wish.. Anne-Marie was worried that the stress of his job was going to effect his health. Secretly she wished he would find something else but knew that he would not. She then stopped at Victoria Secrets and bought a new black negligee just for this evening. She was not planning to go home tonight. She stopped at JC Penny's and made a couple of purchases in the children's department. This was an after thought and she was not even quite sure why she did it. She just felt she had to. After arriving back home, She packed an overnight case with the necessities for the evening and selected one of her pretties black dresses from the closet. Carrying the overnight case and the dress on a hanger she headed for Mike's. She had her own key and planned to be looking her best when he arrived home. She would have an intimate candlelight dinner on the table when he came in.

+++

Mike stopped on the way home at the Liquor Mart and bought a bottle of 10 year old Chadonnet. His next stop was at the florist where he purchased a dozen long stem roses. Purchases firmly in hand, Mike drove the last couple of miles to his house. He parked the car in the driveway and walked up the walkway to his front door. It swung open and Anne-Marie in all her radiance stood there smiling at him. "What a way to come home." He thought to himself as Anne-Marie wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him.

"Wow what a welcome. Did you miss me or something?" Asked Mike as Anne-Marie released her hold on his neck.

"No. I always kiss a stranger that way." Anne said with a smile. "You ought to see what I do with the postman. She continued jokingly.

"Sure. But I bet the postman doesn't bring you these." Mike said as he brought the roses from behind his back where he had be hiding them. "Pretty flowers for a lovely lady."

"Oh Mike, they are beautiful. Thank you." Anne-Marie said. She then stood on her toes and kissed him again.

She then took him by the hand and led him into the living room.

"You look lovely Hon. That dress is beautiful on you. Of course, on you, everything looks terrific."

'Thank you again dear. It is just something I thought might be comfortable for an evening at home. I hope you are hungry. I have made us dinner." Anne-Marie said changing the subject.

"I am starved. What did you make?"

"You'll see. It is a surprise. And don't peek in the dining room until I call you. Ok?"

"Ok. I'll just fix a drink and check my E-mail." Mike said as he walked toward the bar.

"Fine. Dinner will be ready in about 15 minutes." Anne-Marie replied as she walked into the kitchen.

+++

Mike mixed himself a mild scotch and water and went into the den. The computer was on again and displayed that pink screen and flowered border. The text on the screen just said "HELLO MICHELLE". He felt slightly alloyed. Apparently the program had some sort of timing sequence that stayed in memory and ran some sub-routines to keep the readers interest.

The novelty of the program that he had read the previous evening was starting to wear off but he really did not want to purge his files of this annoyance just yet. His curiosity as to how the author had ended the program was piqued, but he decided that he would delete the files before retiring for the night. He moved the mouse and the screen went to it's normal default. Mike signed onto his server and checked his E-mail. Most was junk mail but he did save a couple of messages from clients.

Mike was just signing off as Anne-Marie came into the den and announced that dinner was ready.

"Pretty screen dear. Do you usually have that kind of screen saver running?"

Anne said jokingly, pointing to the pink screen with the flowers that had reappeared.

Mike looked at the screen and chuckled. " No not usually Hon. That screen has been coming on ever since I ran that story the other night. It is starting to get my 'goat' a little, but I think the routine will end tonight at 10:30. That's when the program is supposed to turn me into a little girl. Remember, I told you about that Fictionmania story?"

"Cute. At least it is making you smile a little. I told you that that Fictionmania site would make you laugh. You would look sweet as a little girl though." Anne-Marie said with a giggle.

"Mike laughed at that. He threw a mock slap on her backside and then took her hand and pulled her close. He gave her a sensuous kiss and then breaking away, he remarked, "Do little girls kiss like that."

"Whew. No I don't think so." Said Anne-Marie as she gasped for breath.

"But I think we had better go eat before we both end up on the rug and the food goes cold."

+++

Mike and Anne-Marie had a delightful and romantic meal.

Anne had outdone herself. The table was decorated with a fine lace covering.

Candles in silver candlesticks blazed away in the center of the table. She had laid out Mike's best china and tableware, a family heirloom that had been handed down thru his family since the turn of the century.

In sterling silver serving dishes, Anne had placed on the table a meal fit for a king. Roast pork, decorated with slices of pineapple. Baked potatoes stuffed with cheddar cheese. Honey yams and mixed vegetables. Hot butter rolls and a Caesar's salad. and a of course the wine that Mike had so thoughtfully brought with him.

Mike put a CD in the player and turned it on. The soft melodies of dinner music wafted softly thru the dining area. Mike and Anne-Marie lost themselves to the to everything except each other.

It was close to 9:30 before the couple finally snuggled into the softness of the living room sofa and settled in to watch a movie on the tube. Anne had changed into her new black negligee and Mike into a light cotton pajama set. To Mike, life just didn't get any better than this. He felt the stress of the day just melt away as he held Anne-Marie around the shoulder while she nestled her head on the side of his chest. The coziness was interrupted a short time later however as the computer in the den started emitting an incessant series of "dings" from its speakers.

Mike looked up at the clock on the living room wall. It showed 10:25 pm.

Remembering the program that was running in the computer he cursed a little under his breath. "That stupid program again. Let me go shut down the damned thing so we can have some peace and quiet. It is starting to get annoying."

"Oh yes. I remember you telling me about it. Said Anne-Marie, as she untangled herself from Mike's embrace. "Don't shut it off. I am curious how it is going to end. We can shut off that boring movie and go up to bed after we see how your story ends."

"Ok. That has to be better than the movie. And.... your suggestion is interesting." Said Mike with a lecherous smile.

Mike and Anne-Marie walked into the den and became immediately aware that the monitor was fully on with a blank pink screen showing with what appeared to be a countdown timer running in the middle of the screen.

"I have to hand it to that author, Fairy Godmother, whoever that is. There is certainly enough subroutines to keep your interest." You would think that the transformation is actually going to happen." Said Mike.

"What did you say was going to happen? Change you into a little girl or something?" Anne-Marie said coyly.

"That's what is supposed to happen. Crazy ain't it?

Mike and Anne-Marie sat down in front of the computer to watch what was going to happen. The program seemed to have its own agenda. The flowered border appeared as the timer cycled down to 60 seconds and finally down to zero.

"GOOD EVENING MICHELLE. DO YOU WANT TO CONTINUE?

IF YOU ANSWER YES, THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. YOU WILL BE TRANSFORMED INTO A SIX YEAR OLD GIRL. THE TRANSFORMATION WILL OCCUR WHILE YOU SLEEP AND NOT BEFORE. YOU WILL WAKE UP COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED.

PRESS "Y" TO CONTINUE TRANSFORMATION PRESS "N" TO END AND ERASE THIS PROGRAM.

Mike was about to press the "N" key when Anne-Marie reached over and grabbed his hand and stopped him.

"Honey, lets see how far this program goes. It really is quite interesting. I would like to see it through to the end." Said Anne-Marie.

Mike laughed. "What if it really did turn me into a little girl? That would cause us a few problems don't you think.?"

"I suppose so Mike. More so for you than me. I tell you what though, if it does change you I will at least still love you. Only you will have to become my daughter. Little six year old girls can't be on their own you know." Anne-Marie said giggling.

Mike thought about this little charade and as he reached for the "Y" key he became apprehensive. A wave of foreboding swept over him. "What if all this were true." Mike said to himself. "Silly" he thought. "I don't believe in magic."

Mike pressed the "Y" key.

The computer screen started to flash on and off. It was almost like a pink strobe effect which lasted about 15 seconds. Ae strange oscillating sound was emitted from the speakers. The screen flashed the words "DONE" and then the whole system shut off.

"Well that was a little anticlimactic. Lets go to bed." Said Mike.

"Now what did you have in mind. Sleep or something else?" Anne-Marie asked seductively.

Mike put his arm around her waist. "Something else."

"Oh really! Like what?"

"You'll see." Said Mike as he lead her towards the bedroom.

He was feeling just a little dizzy and light headed.

++++

Anne-Marie awoke as the sun streamed into the room and fell upon her face. She laid there in the bed with a feeling of complete satisfaction. Mike had been wonderful the previous evening. Their love making had been fulfilling and gentle. No woman could have asked for a better encounter with her man. Mike had done all the right things and had pushed all the right 'buttons'.

Anne-Marie finally feeling the urgent need to relieve her bladder slid out of the bed and walked to the bathroom.

Mike was still asleep with the covers pulled over his head as she came back into the bedroom.

Anne reached for her bathrobe that was still draped across the chair next to the vanity. She pulled down the shade to block the sunlight from coming into the room and quietly walked out into the kitchen to put on some coffee.

Anne was half way thru her cup of coffee when she was startled by a scream from the bedroom. A little girl's scream. Remembering the program on the computer and her own suspicions, Anne-Marie ran towards the bedroom.

"Oh please, No." She said to herself trying to ally her worse fears.

She stopped dead in her tracks as she entered the bedroom. What she saw was unbelievable. "Impossible. This can't be." She said to herself. Yet somehow she had known it was going to happen.

Standing in front of the mirror was a little girl. She was beautiful even in her nakedness. The girl was about six years old. Blue eyes, wide with fear looked at her from a delicate face wet with tears. Her head was framed with long blonde hair. that cascaded down to her waist. She looked like an angel.

The little girl ran over to Anne and put her arms around her waist. Anne instinctively pulled the child close. "Michelle, why did you scream dear? Is something wrong?" Asked Anne-Marie.

"I don't know Mommy, I just got scared that's all. I could not remember where or who I was. "It's all right Michelle. Mommy's here. We just stayed overnight at a friend of Mommy's. Let's get you into some clothes and go home.

Anne-Marie got the child dressed in plain white cotton panties and a full cotton bouffant slip, a pretty yellow dress and white knee-highs and black Mary-Jane shoes. She fixed the little girl's hair into a ponytail and tied it back with a yellow ribbon. As they left the house Anne-Marie saw that Mike's computer was on again. A message was on the screen in bold type.

"BE HAPPY ANNE-MARIE. YOUR WISH IS GRANTED." -Fairy Godmother-

Anne pulled the computer's plug out of the wall. The screen went dead. Mike would never know the real reason for his transformation.

Epilogue

The park was a lovely place. Well maintained with beautiful flower gardens interspersed with walkways and benches. One section was set off so that the children could play on the swings and slides and still be watched closely by their mothers.

Anne-Marie was sitting on one such bench as her daughter played on one of the swings.

Michelle was a happy child. She never complained at her predicament. Instead she had adjusted with very little difficulty. She had an above average intelligence for her age although not so much that she could be considered a genius. Anne-Marie just assumed it was a carryover from her experience as Mike. Anne-Marie was lost in thought. She thought of the morning following that night at the computer. It had been a strange and yet wonderful morning.

Somehow she had known that the transformation would take place. She did not know why she knew this, just that she did and had prepared. She had placed in her over-night suitcase that eventful afternoon a complete outfit that should fit a normal six year old. If the change occurred she at least wanted Mike to look that part. The transformation had occurred as she suspected.

The E-Mail from Fairy Godmother two days earlier had promised her that her wish would come true. "Believe and it will happen." The message had read.

She had been given the one thing in her life that would replace Mike. A daughter of her own......
