The Chosen One's : The Firebird

Chap 1. Best Friend Murdered!!!

 

It had been a bad day for Tyler Whitney. He was looking out the train door. He looked at the clock. The train was leaving soon, very soon. His friend had not shown up yet. The train was leaving in one minute. He looked up at the balcony the police were there. He knew they could ruin all. He walked back to his compartment. Robert Cath had not shown up and unfortunately he would never see him again.

Robert Cath rode on his motorcycle by the train. He had to get on. He jumped off and grabbed the door. He opened it and he was in. He opened another door and he was in the sleeping compartment. He saw the conductor "Do you know where Tyler Whitney's compartment is? "Robert Cath asked. "Oh, Tyler Whitney, your compartment is number 1" the conductor said. The conductor walked by. He thinks I am Tyler he thought to himself. He walked to the very end of the hall and knocked on the door. There was no answer. He knocked again, and no answer. He opened the door, shut it, and gasped. Blood was all over his best friend's body. A whole lot of blood was around his eyes. Robert Cath started to get tears in his eyes. He would give him a proper burial, but he didn't want any one to know. He opened the window and threw the body out the window. Then he took off his coat and threw it out the window. He had to find out who the murderer was. From now on he would have to pretend he was Tyler Whitney. After all he wasn't even suppose to be on the train.

 

 

Chap 2 search for clues

 

Robert Cath looked up he noticed a suitcase. He pulled it down and looked inside of it. There was a bunch of pictures and a lot of things. The first thing that got his attention was a scroll. It w He walked into the hallway the conductor was gone. He looked in the book and stole the passenger list. He went and rolled it up. He looked at it. It had a picture of an orange bird with a long, long tail. The rest was written in some writing he couldn't understand. He put it in his pocket. Then he noticed a purple and red scarf that had the letter W on it by a trunk. He looked at it and smelled it. Then he pulled out an old letter from the suitcase and pocketed that. back to the compartment. He looked at it. His name wasn't on the list. He was running from the police. He didn't murder the man. He was a doctor trying to help but the police blamed him and tried to catch him. Anyway he walked to the restaurant on the train. He noticed a lady with Red and Purple clothing. She was talking with somebody else he didn't know. The man she was talking to called her Wolf. "Wolf?" Robert Cath thought to himself. The scarf was purple and red, she has purple and red clothing on, Her last name was Wolf, The scarf Had a W. Then all of a sudden the lights went out. Chap 3 More info

the train master walked in and the lights went back on. "Don't worry technical difficulties fixed, " said the train master.

He then walked behind the curtain nobody could go past it except the conductors, him, and the cooks. Then a man in an orange coat walked up to Robert. "Do you have the gold?" he asked." Robert didn't say anything." Tyler Whitney first you are late to the meeting we are suppose to have then you wont answer me!!!!! Where is the gold!?!?!?!" the man said. Everyone is convinced I'm Tyler Whitney Robert thought to himself." I don't have it now but I will get it later Mr........(Robert was interrupted Schmitt said the man. "Well good Ill suspect the gold before we get to Munich," said Schmitt. Schmitt left. Robert walked up to the lady named Anne Wolf. He pulled out the scarf found at the murder scene and asked," Is this your scarf?" "No" Robert Cath went into the smoking room and noticed a man. He pulled out the scroll and asked the man if he could translate it. "It is a fairy tale about the firebird a little children's story" the man said. "Could you read it to me?" asked Robert. "No" said the man. He gave him back the scroll. Robert then decided to go back to his compartment. When he got there a man was sitting on his bed. "What are you doing here?" the man asked. "This is my compartment" Robert said. "This is Tyler's compartment," the man said. He looked on the floor and noticed blood and pulled out a knife.

 

 

Chap 4 The fight

 

"Wait a minute lets settle it with no violence here" Robert said. "You murderer!!" the man yelled. The man lashed out his knife but Robert dodged. Then the man tried to hit him again and Robert ran out of the way and the man hit the wall with the knife. Then he pulled the knife out and quickly swung at Robert's head. Robert ducked and jumped out of the way of the next swing. Then the man cornered him and threw the knife at Robert it hit a trunk Robert didn't notice before. Robert pulled it out and handed it back to the man." As I was about to say I didn't kill him," said Robert. "Liar!!!" yelled the man. The man swung at Robert's neck. Robert ducked again before it hit him. "Who are you?!?!?!?" the man asked and yelled. "I'm telling you I didn't kill him! " Robert yelled. The man jumped towards him but Robert kicked him and he fell down into a pile of clothes and suitcases. Robert opened the window and climbed out and quickly pulled his self on top of the moving train he almost lost his balance and fell off. Then the man climbed up to. "Your really desperate to escape aren't you?" asked the man. "I didn't kill him!" yelled Robert. The man jumped at Robert and Robert moved and the man almost fell over the edge and was hanging on for his life. Robert went over and pulled him up. The man looked extremely thankful." You are no murderer; you are a lifesaver" the man said. "I'm sorry I attacked you but Tyler was a good friend of mine" he also said "He was a good friend of mine also I found out he was dead at least half an hour ago I threw his body out the window "said Robert. "What's your name?" asked the man." Robert Cath" said Robert. "Tyler talked about you a lot," said the man. "What's your name?" asked Robert?" "Stephen" said Stephen. "Let's get back into the train" said Robert. They both went through Roberts window." Listen I'm trying to find out the murderer but I need to know about Tyler Whitney some more." said Robert. "I'll tell you more in the morning," said Stephen. Stephen left and Robert decided to get some sleep.

 

 

Chap 5 Search at Night becomes a disaster

 

Robert woke up and it seemed to be in the middle of the night. He decided to look at the trunk that wouldn't open before. It would not open it looked like it needed a key. Perhaps there was something important in here the murder wanted to hide and disposed of the key. Robert kicked it and slammed it and it wouldn't open. He decided to give up. Perhaps this was the perfect time to investigate Tyler's murder. He walked outside his compartment. He walked down the hallway and heard a window breaking. He ran to the sound and then heard a growling sound in someone's compartment. He kicked down the door and it looked like some man he had never saw on the train before was attacking Anne. Then the man looked at Robert. His face looked all wrinkled but only looked 30 years old perhaps. Also another weird thing about this man were his eyes were what it looked like glowing yellow. Then the man made a growling noise and opened his mouth. It looked like he had fangs! Robert did what he saw in the movies and picked up a cross on the table and held it up to the man. It looked like the man started burning and stumbling back. "Let's get away from here!" said Anne almost jumping behind Robert. Robert threw the cross at the man. Then Anne and Robert started running down the hallway. The man chased after them. "Is he a vampire? "asked Anne. "I think so," said Robert. Then Anne was holding onto Robert." You're not Tyler Whitney. "Anne said. "That doesn't matter right now," said Robert. They realized the door to the second train was locked and they noticed the vampire was right behind them. "So Robert and Anne, your both here and I'm really hungry" the vampire said. "Stephen is that you?" asked Robert. "Ah yes it is me and about Tyler Whitney I was the one that killed him" Stephen said. "Why were you after me?" asked Anne. "Oh because I came to thank you for letting me burrow your scarf I tried to make it look like you did it" Stephen said. "I never gave you my scarf," said Anne. "Your right I stole it" said Stephen. "Why did you go to my compartment a second time after you killed him? "asked Robert. "Well you had to die also,"said Stephen."Why did you have to try to kill me?" asked Robert."Well you see master wants your kind dead." said Stephen."What do you mean our kind because there is billions of humans why us? asked Anne."Well you are different then most people just the 3 of you Tyler Whitney, Robert Cath, and you Anne. "said Stephen.'What do you mean we are different?" asked Robert."I have had enough of this"said Stephen.He jumped At Anne but Anne moved out of the way and Robert and Anne ran the other way Anne leading. Anne ran into her compartment and so did Robert.Her dog Max was in."We are going to make it off this train alive"said Anne packing as much as she could. Then she opened the window."We are going to jump out"said Anne."What?!?!?!Your crazy,your insane,your...(Stephen broke down the door)Your smart!!"Robert Cath finished. Anne and Robert jumped out a long with Anne's dog Max.They started rolling.Then the train went by.

 

 

Chap 6 Lost and Confused

 

"I can't believe that there is such thing as a vampire and I jumped out a window just look at my dress," said Anne."Anne at least we are safe and so is your dog."said Robert."How about the other people on the train?"asked Anne.Then they saw Stephen running at them. Anne immediately pulled a cross from her suitcase. Stephen immediately stopped."Anne started walking up to him and he took steps back. She go really close to him and he fell to the ground."Get that cross a way from me I promise I wont attack"said Stephen in pain."Liar"said Anne and brought the cross even closer to him. Robert picked up a stick and sharpened is end with a pocketknife. The correct way to kill vampires was to stab it in the heart with something like a stake. This would be close enough. Robert walked by and put the stake to Stephen's chest. "Tell us what we want to know and we will spare you" said Robert. "Uh the sun is coming out,"said Stephen.They looked up and noticed the sun was slightly rising. They picked Stephen up and put him under the shade in a big shady area."Ok why does your master want us dead?"asked Robert.

"It is a prophecy, every year 10 people must be killed and brought to the master where the master sucks all their blood to replenish his strength" said Stephen."Any reason why we are on the list?"asked Anne still holding the cross up. "Robert disposed of one of the one's that I killed and you Anne also know about the murder: said Stephen. Robert looked shocked. "Ok I knew he was killed I wanted to talk to him and saw his dead body and I ran right a way not telling somebody"Anne started to cry. Then there was a growl behind Robert. Robert looked behind him and saw another vampire. Anne screamed and dropped the cross. Stephen jumped up and the 2 vampires circled Robert and Anne.Robert quickly grabbed the cross and held it up the 2 vampires backed up. Anne and Robert ran into the sunlight. If the vampires went into sunlight they would turn to dust. They ran as far into the forest as they could knowing the vampires could only stay there and not catch them they still kept on running. They stopped to rest at a tree. "We have got to stop these vampires from giving the master strength," said Anne. "Let's worry about getting to the Paradise hotel where the train was taking us first "said Robert. They got up and started walking

 

 

The Firebird

 

Anne was the one to see the town first. She quickly told Robert and they both ran towards it. The first thing they did was get something to eat. They went to Burger King as it was the first place they saw. They both ordered plain cheeseburger with medium fries. They sat down at a table in the corner. "Oh Anne could you translate this?"Robert pulled out the scroll with the firebird on it. "It is a story of the prince and the firebird, basically the story is about a prince who discovers a bird made of fire in the Forest of Magical Beings. The prince took it back to his village. Then anybody that took anything from the forest would have a curse put on them. The curse was the bird burned the village and everybody was killed. "Wow, How did you learn how to read it? Robert asked. "My father taught me, he is an archeologist so he knows a lot of languages and writings and he taught me some of it." Anne replied

"We failed to get them," Stephen said. A vampire that had wrinkles all over, pointed ears, and yellow eyes walked up to Stephen. "Stephen you have worked for me for 300 years almost, now you wouldn't like to go out in sunlight would you? Well if those 2 aren't here within a week, your going to kiss daylight. "Yes master I'll make sure I'll get them" Stephen said. "Oh yes what's the news about the firebird?" the master vampire asked. "Well Tyler Whitney had it's egg but before I killed him he threw it out the window" Stephen said. "So another reason for you to go out in sunlight, oh well you have a week to get the Firebird, Robert and Anne here, and 10 other sacrifices here" the Master vampire said. "I will get everything for you Master"Stephen said.

" Do you believe the story is true?" asked Robert. "Well yesterday afternoon I didn't believe in vampires, so possibly it could be true" Anne said. "Hey where's Max? asked Robert. "Oh Max is waiting outside" Anne said. "Anne Wolf your name sounds really familiar well like I've known your name for a long time" Robert said. Anne smiled and said "Oh I have the 3rd smartest dog on Earth." "Max is that smart huh?"Robert asked. "Yes he is I worked really hard training him" Anne replied.

"Well it seems like your done with our sandwich lets go check in to that Paradise Hotel"Robert said. "Hopefully it IS Paradise"Anne replied.

They both got out and stopped a cab. The cab drove them to the hotel and Anne was pleased it let dogs in as long as any messes were cleaned up.

They decided they would have the same room with 2 separate beds and a very comfortable couch in Anne's opinion. "It's just so wonderful in here!"Anne said thrusting her arms at embracing the room. "Well it's better then the last hotel I had to stay at they had mice there "Robert said. "Well about the vampires do you think we should have to worry about them?"Anne asked.

Robert sighed " Well just to be safe we should have Max be a guard dog and we both stay up really late."

Anne sat down on one of the beds "Well they were talking about something with their maser returning strength."

"Well whatever it was I don't think we've seen the last of any of those vampires."Robert said slumping down on the couch.

 

 

The Escape

 

Robert woke up hearing a crashing sound. He heard a scream from one of the other rooms then a growling noise. Anne was gone. He quickly jumped into his clothes then ran out in the hallway. He saw Anne running a way from a man in a leather cloak with black hair. The man jumped on Robert and Robert saw the teeth heading for his neck and closed his eyes . Then he felt dust fall onto him. He opened his eyes and where the man was was a big pile of dust. "I carried this around with me"said Anne pointed at a pointed stick. "I picked it up in the forest."

"What was everything that happened?" Robert asked. "The man walked into our room and asked me if I knew where the firebird was. I said no then he said that I knew and better tell him or his master would kill him. I said no again then he chased me out in hallway"Anne replied. "Maybe this firebird is real tomorrow we will have to go to the library and look it up."Robert said while rubbing his eyes. Max had slept through all of it and was in the corner.

"I'm going to stay-the window crashed in the middle of Anne's sentence. Robert and Anne grabbed their bags and ran along with Max close behind. There were at least 5 of them chasing them. They ran down the steps and almost jumped through the door. They ran back into the forest and the sun had just started to shine.

 

The Enchanted Forest

 

"That is the last time I am ever gonna put up with that,"said Anne while heaving and sweating. "It looks like all the vampires went back they cant get us in the forest now"Robert replied. "Don't be so sure "a voice said from behind them. They quickly turned around to see a man holding a golden egg. "So it is the chosen one's well after this bird is done cooking you up I think your blood will taste very good"the man said with an evil laugh. He cracked the egg and they heard the sound an eagle would make.

The next thing they saw surprised them there seemed to be a small explosion and a really bright light and they saw fire in the shape of an eagle. "THE FIREBIRD IS REAL"yelled Anne in great surprise. "Burn them!" the vampire yelled. The bird started towards them but then a small dragon like creature flew down and swung a sword at it. The bird flew back a little and then the dragon stabbed the vampire in the heart. The vampire turned to dust. Then they heard a very loud sound almost as if it was in their minds"CCCCCCCCOOOOOOOOOMMMMEEEEEEEEEEE TTOOOOOO MMMMASSSSSSTTTTEEEERRR BIIRRRRRRDDDDD!" The firebird flew off in the different direction deeper in the forest.

Then they looked at the dragon which slowly morphed into human. "It looked like you 2 were in trouble so I came to help you,"the man said. He was about their age 17-18.He had brown hair and glasses and wasn't very tall like Robert. Robert was tall with blue eyes and brown hair. Anne was tall also with long blond curly hair with blue eyes.

"What-wh-are y-you?" stuttered Anne still in surprise from the encounter with the firebird and the small dragon. " Oh my name is Kevin my father (Kevin's face made a twitch) is the Master Vampire he had me when he was dead so I have am able to morph into a dragon. The thing is I'm not even close to as powerful as he is. He lives in the underground but he had me locked up in the castle in the forest I just escaped and Merlin let me stay at his cabin in the forest"Kevin said. "Merlin?" Anne asked puzzled. "Wow you don't know a lot about the forest, yes Merlin lives in a cabin here now what are you doing in the forest?" Kevin asked.

They explained everything the train; Stephen telling them they were the chosen ones, in the forest before, and at the Paradise Hotel. "The Chosen One's YESSSSSSSSSS" Kevin morphed into a dragon and flew around them happily. Then he landed and turned human again. "Sorry I'm just so happy follow me!" Kevin said in great joy.

"Can you tell us more about the forest like why it's enchanted?" Robert asked. "Well the special thing about the forest is it is right below heaven and right above hell, " Kevin said. "The gods up above put a lot of enchantments on the forest to keep people from going into it and being killed by demons or something. The Master's castle is in the forest and so is his home underground and Merlin's hut. "Is the firebird from heaven or hell?" Anne asked. "Well it's from heaven the thing is whoever has the egg can control it and the Master has the egg. If the egg were to break the bird would be free.

They stopped at a path where it was a straight trail of nothing, nothing in the way. Robert started to walk through then Kevin grabbed him " This is one of the enchantments, normal people would walk forever in this since it never ends for them, we are all not normal so we can go through but there is one thing you should know, we have to run through fast otherwise it might eat us. RUN! All of them ran through the trail as fast as they could. Anne and Robert noticed that it was getting less wide the further they went then they saw a bright light and ran through it.

They went through and the trail ended and saw a hut. They turned behind them and the light and trail was gone.

"This is Merlin's cabin lets go in" Kevin said. He knocked on the door and there was another bright light then darkness.

 

 

THE CHOOSEN ONES/MERLIN

 

An invisible force threw in Max, Robert, Anne, and Kevin. "Merlin, do you have to have the door so it does that?" asked Kevin. Then a man in a blue cloak with a lot of stars, and a blue pointed hat, with a very long beard appeared out of thin air. "Oh sorry about that I see you have brought some guests with you" the man said.

"I for one am hungry" they heard a voice say behind them. They turned around and looked at Max. "Uh oops" the dog said while moving his mouth. Anne clutched her heart. "You can talk!" Anne gasped. Robert was very shocked also. It didn't seem unusual to Kevin or Merlin though.

"So you are the chosen ones its very obvious with a talking dog and these vampires after you" said Merlin.

"I haven't talked in almost 100 years and now since my secret has been found out I'm going to talk as much as I want." Said Max rather happily. "Vampires, heaven, hell, magic, Merlin, Enchanted Forest, dragons, a bird made of fire, might as well have a talking dog that has lived for over 100 years" said Anne sarcastically. "In a couple of weeks will be 543rd birthday "said Max.

"Um Max this is quite a shock to us but can you explain your living so long and talking" Robert asked confused.

"Well you see I was Valurius's dog, she was a powerful sorceress and she was practicing spells on me "said Max. "Well she mixed a talking and living potion in my water both of the potions were clear so I couldn't tell. The potion made it so I was intelligent, could talk, live for a very long time without aging, and I'm not colorblind" said Max who was very happy to be talking.

"Well Robert and Anne you have a really special dog" said Kevin. "Enough talk I need to explain about the Chosen one's to Robert and Anne" said Merlin. Merlin waved his hand and then a sofa just like the one at Paradise Hotel appeared. "You may sit down as I explain" Robert, Anne, and Kevin sat on the sofa, Max laid down on the floor. "Well I will explain to you who a chosen one is. The Chosen One's were blessed by the gods when they were born with special abilities and can use special weapons and items that can only be used by them. The gods gave me these items as they had me be the ones in charge of keeping them until you came. Now the Chosen One's job is to well stop evil I guess. Nothing to evil has gone on for about 100 years now but the Master is getting stronger as we speak. Also this Firebird thing is bad also under the Master's control he could burn down cities, town, forests, houses. So I am about to give you your first mission. You can have the help of Kevin, which I think he would be glad to help you. Your mission is to destroy the Master and to free the Firebird also. " But how can we do all this we don't have anything and don't even know how to get to the Master." Said Robert. "That is what I was getting to follow me.

Merlin led them into a room with a very clear mirror with a gold frame. Merlin waved his hand at the mirror and the mirror was transparent. Merlin walked through the transparency and urged them in. Robert and Anne walked through it and Merlin was standing by a golden chest. He waved his hand and muttered something. The chest bounced and the top popped open. Inside was a beautiful golden staff with a pure red ruby that seemed to be glowing on top. Then there was a blue glowing sword with a gold handle.

"The staff is yours Anne and the sword is for you Robert. Anne with that staff you can do many magical spells that I can teach you. "Like a witch like in Harry Potter?" asked Anne. "Witches in Harry Potter and in our world are limited compared to how you will be but there is no time to teach you many spells Ill just teach you what I think is required.

 

 

Magic

 

"Well just do some of the basics and some others now like in Harry Potter levitating is a very basic spell as it is here. Now try to levitate Robert's sword in the trunk and move it to that table" Merlin pointed at the table in the other room. "You haven't taught me how yet "said Anne." Oh, sorry I guess I'm starting to get old, well just point your staff at the object and wave it and think very hard of a bird and then it should start to levitate, just move your staff with the object and it should go, if you want to drop the object just lower your staff until the object touches something " said Merlin.

Anne pointed her staff at the sword and thought of the firebird. The sword started to float and she moved the staff to make it move until it landed on the table in the other room. "Excellent so levitation is down, now lets move onto healing or repairing, if any of you get hurt or something breaks that you don't want broken this spell is useful, just point the staff at person or object then spin it clockwise 3 times and think of healing, that's it" said Merlin.

"Now to open chests, doors, making mirrors transparent all you have to do is wave the staff while pointing at it that's it" Merlin said. Anne pointed the staff at another golden chest in the room and waved her staff. The chess bounced up and opened. There wasn't anything inside there either.

"Ok now a useful spell to use against the vampires is to invoke the power of flame so this spell creates a fireball that you can direct. You shouldn't need your staff for this one hold out your right arm and with your hand act like there was a ball in it. Now think really hard of fire and yell FIREBALL. Don't do it in here though only do this when needed.

"Wow I didn't know I could do this or any of this was possible a lot has been put on me in just a couple days" Anne said. "Well you've just encountered things you have never experienced before," said Merlin who was looking for a book on the bookshelf.

"Well Robert you don't really seem to be surprised" said Kevin "I'm way beyond surprised," said Robert. "Um excuse me for interrupting but I'm still hungry!" yelled Max. Merlin waved his hand and a bowl of dog food appeared. "Now quit complaining or I'll turn you into a cat" said Merlin pointing a finger at Max.

Merlin looked back at Robert and Anne. "Do you have any questions?" he asked. "Well when I was on the train somebody named August Schmidt asked for some gold and he thought I was Tyler" said Robert. "I have heard of Schmit, he is one of the master's servants I believe he was the one that Kevin killed." Said Merlin with his eyes closed. "I can see into the past partway, it's not all clear but Tyler found the egg somehow and the vampires were after him for that. I believe this August guy was trying to get you on wrong track.

"Well all I know is this master guy is going to be dead for killing Tyler!" said Robert swinging his sword. You don't know how to use that sword let me teach you really quick, the blade is blue because of an enchantment that makes it reflect magic and the blade can cut through almost anything except if it has some spell on it but it can cut through weak spells not strong spells though " explained Merlin.

Then Merlin stood very still then closed his eyes and they could hear him talking in their minds telling them to be really quiet. Merlin stood there for what seemed like half an hour and opened his eyes. " This is bad the master is almost at full strength we have to do something fast!" Merlin said in alarm. " Should we go now?" asked Robert. "Let me explain really quick, the only way to get to the master's lair is to go to the castle in the forest I can teleport you there now Robert, Anne, Kevin stand right in front of me!" Merlin said really quickly. "How about me I want to help also he did kill my other master!" said Max. Merlin waved his hand then pointed at Max. Max grew wings the same color as his fur. "Wow!" said Max. "Get over here Max "yelled Merlin. Max ran over then Merlin said "teleport Castle Enchanted Forest" then they all saw darkness.

 

 

Master's Castle

 

The next thing they saw were they were in front of a big castle. The highest towers seemed to reach up to the clouds. They were on a bridge and down below them was swampy water and they saw alligators in them. Robert tried to pull the door open but it stayed shut. Anne then waved her staff then pointed it at door. The door immediately swung open and they entered. They saw 3 sets of stairs and they were in a big room with 3 suits of armor on 2 sides. One of the stairs went down and the other 2 went up. The odd thing about the room was everything was perfectly clean.

Max saw a switch by one of the suits of armor and pulled it. Then the suit right next to him swung the sword at him. Max yelped and flew up into the air. Kevin pointed " The suits are moving!" yelled Kevin. The other 5 suits thrust their swords out in front of them and started approaching them. Robert and Kevin pulled out their swords also. "I don't know how to use swords," said Robert. "Well this is the perfect time to find out again," said Kevin backing up. "Kevin turn into a dragon again," said Robert pointing his sword at the nearest suit. The suits were walking very still. Kevin quickly dropped his sword and spun around and there was a bright red flash. Then they saw a 10 foot red dragon holding an even bigger sword. The dragon swung the sword at one of the suits but the sword did not hit, it was like it was being pulled a way. "Fireball" yelled Anne and threw a fireball but it disappeared a couple inches a way from the suits. Then the suits all jumped on Kevin and stabbed him all over. "Kevin!" yelled Robert and swung at one of the suits. The sword went through the suit and there was a black light and the suit dropped. 2 suits behind Robert swung at him at the same time but Robert ducked. He swung his sword at one but it brought its sword up to defend and the other swung towards Robert's stomach. Robert didn't get hit but tripped on the other suit of armor and the 5 suits stood over him swords ready. Robert closed his eyes tight and waited for the swords to kill him but after 10 seconds nothing happened. He opened his eyes and noticed the suits were lying on the floor lifeless. Max was flying above him. " I re-pulled the switch that brought them to life" said Max looking over Robert. Kevin turned human again and didn't have any cuts or injuries "Anne cured me" said Kevin looking very thankful. Anne was also right above Robert looking if he was ok. Robert stood up and picked up his sword.

Max flew down. "Is everything over" he asked looking both ways to check for danger. "For now it is, but we have to be more careful" said Anne. "Well we have to go to the underground so we should start to go downstairs" said Robert motioning to the stairs. Robert, then Kevin, then Anne, then Max walked down the marble stairs which seemed to be new but where actually hundreds of years old. At the bottom of the staircase was a door that had a keyhole in it. "It looks like we need the key it might be upstairs," said Kevin. Robert led running up the stairs and ran up the left staircase. This door also needed a key. "I hope the other stairs don't need a key," said Max. They ran down again and took the right staircase. This one seemed to be going up forever. "I need to stop to rest," said Anne. "Me too" said Max panting. It seemed they had been going up for miles. "This must be the tower we saw from outside I couldn't even see the end of it" said Kevin. The stairs kept spiraling and spiraling. "I think I'm going to be sick," said Max. They had been walking for almost an hour now. "If that key isn't up there this master is going to pay dearly" said Robert very tired. "Max, you can fly pretty fast, fly up there and tell us what you see" said Robert sitting down with everybody else. Max flew up and after a couple minutes flew down with a golden key and dropped it in Robert's hand. "When I grabbed the key a trapdoor opened lets go check it out, there's only a couple more spiral turns. They ran up and came to a room with a pedestal where the key was at and a trapdoor right beside it. "Max fly down and tell us what you see down there" said Anne.

Max flew down and the passageway seemed to be going forever just like up the tower. At the bottom was some deep water good enough to swim in. There was enough room for Max to swim over it and he went into a little room with 2 doors and a switch. He pulled the switch and one of the doors opened revealing another key. He used the first key they found to open the other door and found out it was the door to the bottom of the stairs. The other key must have been to the door on the other staircase. Max flew up and told the others to jump down because there was water. Robert jumped first and Anne and Kevin jumped at the same time a couple seconds after Robert. Max flew down. The humans landed into the water and the current pulled them into the other room.

"Well that was quite something" said Robert freezing. Anne and Kevin were shivering also. "Fireball" said Anne pointing her staff in the middle of the room. A ball of fire appeared and made a small fire in the middle of the room. "It's amazing I can do this," said Anne looking at the staff. They warmed up for a couple minutes and headed up the stairs and up the left staircase where the other door was. Robert put the key in and turned it and it opened revealing another small room. There seemed to be nothing in it. "I don't see anything in here" said Anne looking up.

"Anne wave your staff," said Kevin. Anne waved her staff and a blue portal appeared. "We better go in," said Robert walking in. Everybody else followed.

 

 

The Master

 

" The chosen ones are here Master, I'm sure are new pet will toast them pretty good" said August. "Can I have the ladies blood?" asked Stephen his fangs hanging out. "Enough both off you" the master said in an echo. The master's skin was gray and really wrinkly. His eyes were glowing red and he had pointed ears. His nails where like claws. His fangs could puncture anything and where extremely smart. The master was strong, the strongest vampire ever. He also had a sword with dark magic powers from the Dark Lord himself. They were in a cave and the firebird was flying around waiting for a command. The egg was on a pedestal. Then out of no where came a fireball that made the egg blow up. August, Stephen, and the Master stood up and there they saw Robert, Anne, Kevin, and Max and the firebird had flew a way.

"Stephen and August you may have the honors" said the master. Stephen and August jumped off the stand and ran towards them. "Fireball" yelled Anne and a ball of fire went towards August. August dodged and growled showing his fangs.

Kevin then spun around and turned red and big. Then he was his dragon self. He breathed fire at Stephen and August just while they were nearing. They barely escaped the flame but the firebird swooped down and flew through them catching them on fire. They screamed and turned to dust. "The firebird is trying to help us," said Anne her staff ready. "Get them!" the master yelled.

Then 5 doors opened and 20 vampire came out from each door. It seemed like an army of them. They all ran towards them at once. Kevin and the firebird flew through burning some of the vampires but must of them were getting through. Anne was throwing fireballs in every direction but more caves were opening revealing more vampires. The firebird flew through another vampire and it turned to dust. 10 vampires jumped on Kevin to hold him back but Kevin was able to shake them off. Robert was just watching as more and more vampires came out. Then 5 vampires jumped in front of him, all dressed in black. Robert picked up his sword but one of the vampires jumped on him. Then a sword went through its heart and it turned to dust. Robert noticed the 10 suits of armor attacking the vampires. The vampires couldn't do anything so the suits were killing them. Robert then noticed a vampire running for him then ran towards it and stabbed it through the heart and it dusted. "Fireball" he heard Anne yell and another vampire fell down on fire. Kevin then burned 10 vampires at once. The firebird then put a circle of flame around the 10 remaining vampires so they were trapped. Then it flew through all of them setting them on fire and turning to dust. The battleground now was full of ashes and dust.

The master had been sitting in his chair on the top of the cliff the entire time. "Very good" he said clapping his hands with an evil smile on his face. "I haven't seen anybody as good as you in 471 years, well I don't really like guests so I will just make you leave" he said his red eyes glowing even more.

He jumped down his sword in hand. He had a black cloak with gold lining on it. His sword was actually glowing black and was making a slight humming sound. "You fools, you should of known that coming here would lead to your deaths, oh well some of us have to die sometime" he said his red eyes turning black. Then they were surrounded by darkness and couldn't see anything. The ten suits of armor dissapeared. "Hahaha this is a game I like to play now you should test to see" the master said in an evil cackle. They seemed to be in the middle of the forest in a clearing. The sun was shining but then pure black clouds covered it and it started to rain in just a second. The master then appeared in front of them.

The firebird then flew towards the master and went through him but the master didn't light on fire. "Hahaha stupid bird" said the master in an echo voice. Kevin flew towards the master as his dragon self but the master pulled out his sword and stabbed Kevin with the dark blade. Kevin fell down unconscious. "Oh he won't die, he will just be in very extreme pain for a while" the master laughed. Anne started to do a healing spell but then she was shot by a blacklight and she to was unconscious. Robert was horrified. Max then started to fly over to Anne but also got shot by a blacklight and fell down unconscious.

"Well it looks like you and me now," said the master enjoying himself. He pulled his sword back and swung it as hard as he could and a black ball of energy flew towards Robert. Robert brought up his sword and the ball of energy hit the sword. The sword glew black for just a second and then the balls of energy shot back at the master and hit him. The master fell down on his knees and Robert ran towards him and stabbed him through the heart. The master's skin boiled and he screamed in pain. He was not dead however, even though he was stabbed in the heart. Robert pulled out the sword and stabbed him in the stomach. The master screamed again and stood up. Robert pulled the sword out and was thrown back by an invisible force. " You will now suffer" the master yelled while the ground shook. The master pulled up his sword and swung towards Robert. Robert defended himself with his sword and stabbed the master again in the heart area. Then the master howled and where his eyes were only sockets of fire. Then the master raised his sword and Robert was surrounded by black energy. He almost fell unconscious but then he felt healed. He looked up and everybody else was standing up and Anne healed him. Then at the same time Robert stabbed the master in the heart area again, Anne threw a fireball, the firebird flew through the master, and Kevin stabbed the master with his sword. The master screamed as loud as ever and then started fading and burning.

Then they all felt as if they were being lifted from their bodies as the master faded. Anne then fell down when the master sent some black energy at her. She wasn't breathing, her heart wasn't beating, and she had no pulse.

Watch out for the second book in The Chosen One's series. In the next book Robert travels to the underworld to save Anne. He also sees an old friend there. When they get back their adventure still isn't over. The master's wife knows what they did to her husband. She isn't very happy about it
