A good story and an interesting plot. The first part of the story was good.  As usual for me there was too much romantic situations taking over the story.  That said, it is a characteristic of the author.  It would be nice to change once in a while.  The courtship was far too quick again and then a very short engagement.  Perhaps I am just 'old fashioned'.  When I left school I got my feet under the table and got stable in the world before looking for 'the one'.  Thus the last chapter/part was mostly about the wedding rather than saying if they got the Centre to be profitable and how they took in further work.  After all if the Centre is not profitable the Father may take it off them so it is very related to the story.

I originally read 'John's Gift' years ago and the bridge scene stayed with me all this time. For me that's what makes a story great, remembering as if you were there. Remembering as you yourself was the protagonist and having the urge relive the story.

I often archive a story and am sure I will read this one again.

WOW!  I just read all 16 parts straight through.  I loved it!  The use of Nick's transformation to meld what essentially was a story and its sequel into one story was inspired.  The part I liked the most was how Jan and Cathy treated the transformed Nick.  It was clear that rehabilitation was on their minds, not just punishment.  I missed Nick and Pauline in all the wedding chapters as it seemed as if Jan and the new Pauline were becoming friends.  I rather like to think that the new Nick and Pauline were happy and never requested to change back.  I also like to think that  Jan's parents never found out about the swap, or if they did, they decided that the original Jan was better off dying at that time rather than suffering the unpleasant life she was heading for.  I am surprised that mine is the only comment on this fine story since  2003.  Anyway, BRAVO, Prue!

hey Pru!!

Just finished chapter 3.  I am very impressed with how you are not rushing the plot of this ptential epic.  If not epic, then classic!
The "out-of-body" type body swap, with John being dead is a hell of a twist, and in my brief experience, quite original.   I'm loving it!!

More comments to come! :)

Interesting...

Being a big fan of the previous segments of John's Gift, I had always hoped for more. Trouble was, I thought Prue had it all wrapped up nicely. I should never have doubted her though, as she remains one of the most creative talents out there.

I'm enjoying the new directions this story is exploring, and like always am eagerly awaiting more. Prue has breathed new life into the story, and her writing is better than ever.

I also enjoyed the addition of several new characters, one of whom is a pretty cool dude. I'll leave you all guessing as to who it is.

Thanks for the story,
-Mr. Man

I have just finished rereading Johns Gift at a good friends urging.  It seems that I had missed a lot of meaning and details in my first attempt at appreciating this work.   I find that your insite and development of the characters makeup to be uncanny.  You definitely have a knack for descriptive writting.
If you do decide to continue this tale, I know that you will continue to do the fine job that allmost seems effortless on your part when making the story flow.
Pease keep up the good work Prue, and I will actively seek any and all of your creations as I become aware of them.
   Thanks for the good read.
          Sincerely: Becky.

Is it done, now? I hope you keep up the great story writing. Check you readers' review I do not think everyone knows that "John's Gift" is done.

An excellent little story.  I found myself asking "What happens next?'  Does Jan go on to college?  Does she marry Sam...  Then I realized, you have one of the writer's best gifts - always leave them wanting more.

Hugs, JoAnn

Read it, read it again, printed them off, read it once more off papers. What a story, what imagination! Schoolgirls, body swaps, swimming pools, scenes of swap reactions. You name it. Easily one of the best stories I've ever read. Thanks prudence! Definitely one of the best writers around.

I completely enjoyed all 15 parts of your rather remarkable story.  Amazing what can happen after a nuke explosion.  The story followed along with each part complementing the next.  I kind of felt bad when the story ended.  Great job.

Comment by Terry on 05/10/01
The end of this series feels much like the end of a relationship.  I guess I should just dry my eyes and move on.  Thank you for the wonderful series and I hope we can still be friends. <sniff>  <sniff>

Comment by Mr Man on 05/10/01
I just read the latest installment and enjoyed it very much. Everything seems to be wrapped up nicely. If this is the end of John's Gift, then I can't imagine a better finale than the one you wrote. Thanks for writing.

A truly wonderful story. Please don't end it here and let's see an
offshoot about Nick/Pauline.

Fantastic! Enough said.

Speaking of gifts, I have long thought that a rich imagination was one of the gifts that often come with being TG. Prue helps prove my point--a very creative storyline and characters we care about. Thanks for sharing your gift, Prudence.

Comment by Cathy_t_ on 03/20/01
WELL, WELL, WELL!  Just when I thought you couldn't top yourself, you go and do this!  <Stands back and looks at Prue, askance>  So you CAN'T write, huh?  HORSE PUCKEY!!!!!!!!!   Prue, I stand in mute admiration of your ability, both as a muse, and as a writer.  I absolutely LOVE where you have taken GIFT and I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next part.  WELL DONE, M'luv!

Prue, I am more and more amazed with each new work of yours. Your talent grows every day equal to your loving heart. I look forward to seeing more in the future.

Prue, I am running out of superlatives to use when complimenting you on this story.  You're gonna HAVE to stop!  NO, NO, ignore that last!  Don't stop!  I'm so pleased for you and so proud OF you that I could burst.  Very VERY well done, m'luv.  I'm eagerly awaiting the next part.

Nice storyline and ending. Be interesting to explore these paranormal power further - perhaps with her offspring?

You have written the beginning of what thus far is a very fine story. I hope you continue it, as the concept is very interesting. Keep up the good work!

Comment by Nellie D on 12/07/00
Very interesting! (imagine with a german accent as Artie Johnson )

I can't guess where this is going but time will tell.

A good story with well developed characters and a sense of where the author wants to go with it. Good descriptions.

Comment by Emmie Dee on 12/07/00
As Spock would say, Fascinating! I can hardly wait to see how this develops. Hugs, Emmie
