Very good story Janet, there were many times I wanted dearly to do this similar event to my father but there was no one to help me pull it off so the fear of failure factor won.  I lost many years of my life over that.

There is a valuable lesson to be learned from this story...if something is very valuable to you, now (in your youth) is the time to do it.

If dad had not of been a bully, this story would not have happened. But her fear of failure made her a woman. Janet, I prefer nice guy dads in your story. But then, I am a hopeless romantic.

A lovely, inspiring story about how a boy's courage in facing up to his bullying father leads to a whole new way of life.

Although I often heard shocking one father like that isn't a good way to come out, it was a lovely story. A fear of failure is something many feel.

The importance of reader feedback cannot be overstated.   Authors rely on it to improve their future works, and it gives them the incentive to write more stories if they know that their hard work has been appreciated.  I am not saying that comments must all be lauditory.  Authors often appreciate honest, constructive criticism over simple remarks like 'Great story', although simple praise is appreciated also.  There is no limit on how much you can enter in the 'comments' box.   Sentences will automatically word wrap at the end of the line so please do not use your carriage return/enter key except at the end of your paragraphs.
