As usual, you've managed to impress me with your breadth of writing ability to encompass different genres.  The characters, plot and pacing were all very deftly handled, and I thought the story was immensely entertaining--the P.I. aspect put a fun spin on the tale, and you blended the action, romance and mystery with a great sense of whimsy and satirical commentary.  Bravo!

I also have to tell you--there were a lot of funny little bits and one-liners in the story which were great (the line about "if you can't trust a Senator's husband," for one), but one joke in particular just absolutely tickled me...D.C.'s comment about "The Committee" was a riot.   (Something like, "Despite my current situation, that made me feel a little better. If this invasion was being run by committee, maybe the human race wasn't in such imminent danger after all.")

The other thing I really enjoyed was the ending.  To be honest, it didn't really catch me by surprise (although I can see where it very easily could), but I think the reason it didn't was because it was exactly the ending I was hoping for.  Not only was it uplifting, but it really added a nice depth to Martin's character.  It showed him as a true friend with a wonderful sense of honor, where by keeping the secret and maintaining the illusion, he was making it easier for D.C. to handle her situation.  (I can just imagine the scene some time down the road where D.C. tells him the truth and is shocked to learn that he knew all along.  The idea of Martin saying, "I figured you'd tell me when you were ready" strikes an emotional chord, and the best part is that you didn't have to actually have the scene to have the same resonance.)  I also liked the ending since it validated Martin's credentials as a detective.  The idea of D.C. as a woman may have been a hard concept to get his head around, but D.C. *did* made a fair amount of gaffes.  (Amusing though they were.)  Suffice to say, it was a terrific denouement to a wonderful story.

Thanks again for the story!  Congratulations!

This was a great and well written story. It is long, but moves along very quickly. I highly recommend it.

Very enjoyable, funny with some pointed comments, very funny & good characters. I love the way he turns into a new & improved Shelia. Great picture selection. The political side is slightly heavy handed, but all in in all a first class read. Thanks!

This is a very funny story!  Christopher Leeson has a wonderfully dry wit, and the political references are a real hoot! The graphics are also great!   More, More!
